Overview

LongoMatch supports event coding during live or recorded games, annotations saved to footage and statistics covering event locations, player data, possession, fouls and assists. Longoboard adds training-session planning and tactical diagrams; Longocloud adds sharing, tagging, comments, shareable statistics and team management. That breadth makes it relevant to teams coordinating both match analysis and preparation, rather than only annotating clips.

Supported sports include football, rugby, hockey, handball, baseball, basketball and volleyball. LongoMatch lists minimum desktop requirements of macOS Monterey 12 and Windows 10 version 1809. Longoboard requires iPad with iOS 12.2 or later, or Android 14 or later. Fluendo VAS S.L. is responsible for personal-data processing and says it follows GDPR and Spain's Organic Law 3/2018. The Open Source version is no longer offered or maintained and will receive no further updates.

Key features

Match analysis

Live and recorded event coding, drawing annotations and custom labels let coaches tie observations to moments in the footage. LongoMatch says it can analyze up to four videos at once and switch between camera angles, a useful capability for teams comparing viewpoints; multicamera is a Pro feature. The Basic plan's 50-event-per-project cap makes the free option better for small-scale evaluation than sustained match work.

Planning and collaboration

Longoboard handles training sessions, tactical diagrams and sharing plans as native files, images, video or PDF. Longocloud adds file sharing, content tags, comments, shareable statistics and team management. These tools make the product more than a clip-review app, but they are split across separate plans and licenses.

Pricing

LongoMatch uses a freemium model, with a 15-day trial. The free Longomatch Basic plan costs 0.00 EUR per free and allows 5 projects, 2 teams, 1 dashboard and 50 events per project; exports carry a non-removable watermark. Those caps suit a limited trial or modest workload, not a growing analysis archive.

Longoboard costs 1.95 EUR per month, with an annual payment of 19.95€ and an annual price shown as 1.66€ per month. It includes unlimited teams and tasks, training sessions and PDF export, making it the focused choice for planning without the broader Longomatch analysis tiers.

Longomatch Starter costs 15.00 EUR per month, with an annual payment of 150€ and an annual price shown as 12,50€ per month. It removes project, team, dashboard and event limits and adds live analysis with webcam, HDMI and IP camera. Choose it when the Basic caps or live capture are the obstacle; it does not list Pro's presentations, multicamera, Excel export or XML import/export.

Longomatch Pro costs 55.00 EUR per month, with an annual payment of 550€ and an annual price shown as 45,84€ per month. It adds presentations, multicamera, Excel export, XML import/export and Longocloud compatibility, suiting teams that need those analysis and export tools.

Longocloud Team costs 120.00 EUR per month, with an annual payment of 828€ and an annual price shown as 69€ per month. It bundles one Longomatch Pro license, one Longoboard license, 50 cloud users, 50 GB storage and one team. Longocloud Club costs 150.00 EUR per month; its annual discount is shown as 41%, with an annual monthly price of 89€. It includes the same one Pro and one Longoboard license, 300–1000 cloud users, 300–1000 GB storage and unlimited teams. Team fits a single team with smaller collaboration needs; Club is the step up for broader team and storage capacity.

Personalized support is listed for Basic and Starter, and remote technical assistance for Pro.

Platforms

LongoMatch lists Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows. The desktop and Longoboard minimum requirements matter for teams planning deployment across older computers or mobile devices.

Who it's for

LongoMatch is a strong fit for sports coaches and analysts who want event-based video review alongside training plans and team sharing, especially in the sports it supports. Teams needing only a small number of projects can begin with Basic, while ongoing analysis is more practical on Starter or Pro. It is a weaker fit for users who need an actively maintained open-source edition or want uncapped work without moving to a paid plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: Match coding, annotations, statistics and training planning cover several parts of a team's workflow in one product family.
Pro: Pro includes multicamera analysis, Excel export and XML import/export for teams that need those capabilities.
Con: Basic is limited to 5 projects, 2 teams, 1 dashboard and 50 events per project, with a non-removable watermark.
Con: LongoMatch no longer offers or updates its Open Source version.
Con: Longoboard and cloud collaboration are separate paid offerings, and the larger cloud bundles still specify one Longomatch Pro license.

Alternatives

Video Annotation Software is a broader category to explore if you are comparing annotation tools beyond sports analysis.

Onform is worth considering for coach-shared video review and personal video recording, with a free plan and Android, iOS, web and Windows support.
BORIS is a free, open-source alternative for readers who prioritize software distributed under GNU GPL v.3.
Frame.io is an option for collaborative video projects, with a free tier capped at 2 members, 2 projects and 2GB storage.
FrameQuery may suit metadata search and local, Drive or NAS sharing and backup; its free plan has no monthly indexing hours.
Label Studio is another freemium option for readers comparing labeling software.
InqScribe is a freemium option for macOS and Windows users comparing transcription software.
MAXQDA is a paid option with a free trial for readers comparing qualitative data analysis software.
Roboflow is a freemium option for readers comparing computer-vision software; its Free Tier includes 10 credits a month.

Verdict

Choose LongoMatch if your coaching or analysis work benefits from connecting match footage, statistics, training plans and team sharing. Its main advantage is that connected workflow; look elsewhere if you need an actively maintained open-source version or if Basic's project and event limits are too restrictive for your workload.
