Overview

KindEngage links donation activity with supporter communications. Text-to-give, donation checkout, campaign links, and live donation displays sit alongside mass texting, automated follow-up, and a shared inbox. That combination makes it a practical fit for teams coordinating fundraising and outreach, though its paid entry point may be a substantial commitment for a small organization.

Key features

Fundraising and messaging

Organizations can accept donations through text-to-give, checkout, and campaign links, and show contributions on live donation displays. Personalized mass texts can be scheduled and include photos, videos, and images; keyword texting and MMS are also supported. Together, these options suit campaigns that need both a way to give and a way to keep supporters informed.

Automation and shared inbox

Workflows support multi-step sequences, conditional logic, and time-based triggers, allowing teams to structure follow-up rather than manage every message individually. A two-way shared inbox adds team assignment, internal notes, filters, search, and conversation history. Those tools can help multiple staff members stay on top of conversations, although organizations that do not need coordinated follow-up may not benefit as much from the added breadth.

Integrations, compliance, and support

KindEngage lists integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Zapier, Google Sheets, Stripe, Slack, and Constant Contact, as well as 50+ integrations overall. API access is available for custom integrations. The company says its payment processing is PCI-compliant and that it supports TCPA and GDPR compliance through opt-in management and consent records.

Nonprofits receive email and chat support, video training, and a resource library; premium plans include a dedicated account manager. KindEngage says teams can send a first SMS in under five minutes without coding, and offers free onboarding training and setup assistance. Multi-goal campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, and AI-powered messages are marked as coming soon, so they should not be treated as current capabilities.

Pricing

The Nonprofit Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and is for organizations with under 500 contacts. That makes it a low-risk way for smaller groups to start, but the contact ceiling limits its fit as a supporter base grows.

Nonprofit pricing starts at 99.00 USD per month. It includes unlimited SMS recipients, email campaigns, no setup fees, and no long-term contracts. The paid plan removes the free plan's contact-based eligibility constraint, making it more suitable for organizations with broader reach, though the starting price may be difficult to justify for teams with modest fundraising or messaging needs. A nonprofit discount is available. A free trial is offered.

Platforms

KindEngage is available on the web, making it accessible through a browser-based workflow rather than a broader set of listed platform options.

Who it's for

KindEngage is aimed at nonprofits and faith organizations, including churches, mosques, and synagogues, as well as community groups, food banks, and schools. It is most compelling for organizations that want fundraising, supporter texting, and shared team handling to work together. A group looking for a focused texting product, or one that needs a free plan for 500 or more contacts, should consider a different fit.

Pros and cons

Pros: Donation tools, mass texting, workflows, and a shared inbox are combined, which can reduce the need to coordinate those activities across separate services.
Pros: The free plan gives eligible organizations with under 500 contacts a way to start without a paid subscription.
Pros: Broad integrations, API access, and consent-management features support organizations with existing systems and compliance needs.
Cons: The free plan's under-500-contact limit makes it less suitable as an organization grows.
Cons: Paid pricing starts at 99.00 USD per month, a meaningful cost for teams that need only messaging or have limited campaign activity.
Cons: Several fundraising and AI capabilities are still coming soon rather than ready to use.

Alternatives

For a church comparing communication options, Flocknote has a free-for-life starter tier for 0–40 members, with monthly pricing varying by church size; its narrower church-oriented entry point may suit a very small congregation. CallHub is another option, with a free plan and free trial, and support across web, mobile, desktop, and API platforms.

Text-Em-All (formerly Call-Em-All) offers a free start with 25 credits for testing voice broadcasts and texting to your own number, while mass texting requires an upgrade. For organizations whose main need is workflow automation, OpenFn has a free tier with one workflow, 100 runs per month, and one user. Ascend uses custom pricing, with subscription and messaging fees depending on account usage.

For a text-giving-focused alternative, Donr charges 5.00 GBP per month with a 5% plus VAT fee per donation, and has no signup or subscription fees or long-term contracts. mCommons also uses custom pricing tied to results. PureSMS has charity and pay-as-you-go per-SMS-part pricing, making it an option for organizations comparing message-level charges.

Verdict

KindEngage is a strong fit for nonprofits and faith communities that want fundraising, supporter messaging, automation, and team conversation handling in one place. Its breadth and sub-500-contact free plan are the clearest reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if you need only a texting service, or if the $99.00-per-month starting price outweighs the benefit of combining these jobs.
