Overview

KaraFun combines karaoke with singing battles and music quizzes, making it a strong fit for people who want to sing together rather than just play tracks. Its song controls, guest queue and offline playback give it range, but the private-use restriction and one-device-at-a-time account limit are important constraints.

The catalog is refreshed with more than 400 new karaoke songs each month, according to KaraFun. Users can change a song’s key and tempo and switch lead, backing or guide vocals; guests can browse the catalog and add songs to a shared queue from a smartphone. Offline Sync supports up to 1,000 songs on a device, while Vocal Match on iOS and Android analyzes a voice and matches it against songs.

Key features

Flexible vocals and tracks: Key, tempo and singer-volume controls, alongside lead, backing and guide vocals, help groups tailor a song to the singers. Track creation is supported, but performance recording is not.
Group participation: Guests can use their phones to browse and add songs to the queue. Premium supports 20 remote connections; Pro raises that to 100, a meaningful difference for larger gatherings.
Offline playback: Premium and Pro both include synchronization for up to 1,000 songs, useful where a reliable connection is not assured.
Vocal Match: Voice matching is limited to iOS and Android, so desktop users cannot use this feature.
Professional licensing: Pro includes sound-recording rights coverage with synchronized lyrics for its licensed catalog. Public performance royalties remain the customer’s responsibility.

Pricing

KaraFun uses a freemium model. There is no free trial; the Free plan is free and includes free songs, Premium previews, access to all features for trying them, and one free quiz. That is enough to sample the experience, but not a substitute for full catalog access or repeated quizzes.

Premium costs 7.99 GBP per month, billed £7.99 / month. It unlocks all songs, offline sync, playlists, singer-volume and song controls, unlimited quizzes and Battle, and remote connections for up to 20 people. It suits private users who want regular access, but KaraFun Premium is restricted to private use.

Pro costs 39.99 GBP per month, billed £39.99 / month. It includes Premium features plus a commercial license, permanent QR code, advanced interface customization and remote access for up to 100 people, with up to 1,000 offline songs. It is the relevant tier for professional use, though the customer still handles public performance royalties. One account can be active on only one device at a time on any plan, even though the app can be installed on multiple devices.

Platforms

KaraFun is available on Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows. Vocal Match is available only on iOS and Android. Technical support operates Monday through Friday and aims to respond within two business days.

Who it's for

KaraFun is best for households, parties and other private groups that value a regularly refreshed catalog, song customization, guest participation and offline playback. Larger events may benefit from Pro’s 100-person remote limit and commercial license, but organizers must account for public performance royalties. It is a poor fit for anyone who needs to record performances or use one account on several devices simultaneously.

Pros and cons

Pro: Controls for key, tempo and vocal levels let groups adapt songs to different singers.
Pro: Remote song selection, quizzes and battles give guests ways to participate beyond taking turns singing.
Pro: Offline sync supports up to 1,000 songs, and the monthly catalog additions help keep the selection changing.
Con: Premium is for private use; professional or public performances require Pro, and public performance royalties remain the customer’s responsibility.
Con: A single account cannot be used on two devices at once, limiting shared use across separate setups.
Con: Performance recording is not offered, and Vocal Match is unavailable outside iOS and Android.
