Overview

Managers can invite guards and clients, maintain profiles, organize multiple teams, and add post sites. Guards can check in and out, submit reports with media, and record checkpoint visits by scanning NFC tags. Messaging, notifications, panic alerts, post orders, and pass-down logs extend the app beyond basic attendance and incident records.

GPS tracking is available at sites. The terms say location is tracked when a guard is using the app and tracking is enabled, a condition teams should account for when setting expectations with staff. Security Guard App says it protects data and communications with encrypted connections and security best practices. Support is available by email or phone, as well as through a support request link.

The product names corporate, hospitality, campus, healthcare, and event security as use cases. It may be a practical fit across varied settings, though the described features center on guard operations rather than specialized workflows for any one sector. Key features

Teams, sites, and time records

Multiple teams and post sites, alongside guard and client profiles, give managers a way to organize people and locations in one service. Check-in/out and time-log management help capture attendance and working time. The breadth is useful for multi-post operations; the Free plan’s single-user cap, however, prevents a team from using it as a shared operational system without upgrading.

Reports and patrol verification

Custom reports can be submitted multiple times and include photo, video, or audio attachments. That gives guards a way to add context to reports rather than relying only on text. NFC scanning lets supported roles verify checkpoints, log site visits, and add notes or media after scanning. Teams need NFC tags and compatible roles for that patrol workflow.

Location and communication

GPS tracking can show guards at sites, while in-app messaging and live notifications support routine coordination. Panic alerts, post orders, and pass-down logs address safety and shift handovers. These functions put several operational needs together, but the location condition matters: tracking applies while the guard is using the app and tracking is enabled.

Pricing

Free

Free forever, is for a single user. It includes check-in/out, post sites, custom and multiple reports, multimedia attachments, teams and profiles, GPS tracking, messaging, post orders, pass-downs, and custom breaks. The feature breadth makes it useful for an individual guard or a solo evaluation, but the one-user limit rules it out for a working multi-guard team.

Standard

5.00 USD per month, billed $5 Per Guard/Mo, is priced per guard and includes multiple post sites and team members, check-in/out, reports, multimedia attachments, GPS tracking, messaging, post orders, pass-downs, custom breaks, and guard and client profiles. This is the relevant plan for teams that need shared access; costs scale with the number of guards. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time.

Platforms

Security Guard App supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. The guard mobile app is available on both Android and iOS, so mobile use is not limited to one of those platforms.

Who it's for

Security companies and clients coordinating guards across multiple sites are the clearest fit, especially when they want timekeeping, patrol verification, reports, and communications in the same service. Corporate, hospitality, campus, healthcare, and event security are named settings. A single user may find Free sufficient for individual use; teams should budget for Standard. Organizations needing third-party software integrations should look elsewhere, since the product’s opened maker pages list none.

Pros and cons

Pros: One service combines time records, reports with multimedia attachments, NFC patrol verification, GPS tracking, and team communications, which can reduce the need to coordinate these tasks across separate tools.
Pros: The Free plan includes a wide range of functions, including reports, GPS tracking, and messaging, making it a substantive option for one user.
Cons: Free is restricted to a single user, so it does not serve as a no-cost team plan.
Cons: Standard’s per-guard monthly pricing means team costs rise with headcount.
Cons: The product’s opened maker pages list no third-party software integrations, which may be a drawback for organizations that depend on connecting existing systems.

Alternatives

GuardTrac is worth comparing for teams that value a free tier capped at five users and one client location, with basic reporting, live guard tracking, a client dashboard, and shift management.
GuardConnect is another freemium option for Android and iOS.
guardtour.app may suit a small patrol operation looking for a free allowance of five checkpoints, one site, unlimited controllers, 30-day history, and QR and NFC verification.
PatrolLIVE is another freemium option for web, iOS, and Android.
Guard Patrol Pro is a paid alternative for web, iOS, and Android.
GuardMetrics is a paid alternative for web, iOS, and Android.
Silvertrac is a paid alternative for web, iOS, and Android.
ZOOY Patrol is a paid alternative for web, Windows, and Android.

Verdict

Security Guard App is a strong fit for security teams that want patrol verification, reporting, timekeeping, and communications under one roof, with a clear per-guard starting price for multi-member use. Choose it if those functions align with your operation and the tracking terms work for your staff. Look elsewhere if you need a free team plan or third-party integrations.
