Overview

Visitors share their name, phone number, email address and a case summary through a website widget. The bot uses the firm’s practice areas to accept relevant inquiries or decline those outside its scope; qualified leads can book through Calendly. After intake, the firm receives an email with the contact details, case type and conversation.

This is lead capture and consultation scheduling, not legal guidance. IntakeAI says it does not give legal opinions, predict case outcomes or offer legal strategy. The terms also limit use to licensed legal professionals or authorized representatives of a law firm.

The privacy policy says visitor conversations are delivered to the firm rather than stored on IntakeAI’s servers, while account data remains during the subscription and for 30 days after cancellation. It says data is not sold and visitor lead data is used only to deliver it to the relevant firm. Connections use HTTPS encryption, and API communications use industry-standard authentication. Anthropic handles AI processing; Resend, Lemon Squeezy and Vercel provide email, payments and hosting. IntakeAI says it responds to every message within 24 hours, usually faster.

Key features

Qualification and booking

Training the bot on a firm’s practice areas gives intake a useful first filter, and Calendly booking can shorten the path from inquiry to consultation. That saves staff from manually handling every initial contact, but it does not make the bot a substitute for reviewing leads: the terms warn that it may misunderstand queries and do not guarantee that it will capture every lead or that a captured lead will be viable.

Website setup and alerts

The widget can be added to WordPress, Squarespace, Wix or a custom HTML site by pasting in a script tag. Email alerts include enough context for the firm to follow up without relying on the chatbot to make a final case decision.

Integrations and boundaries

Calendly is part of the intake flow. CRM export and Zapier integration are reserved for Growth, so firms needing those connections must pay more than the entry paid tier. The service is explicit that its role ends at collecting information and scheduling consultations.

Pricing

IntakeAI is freemium, with a 30-day trial and paid plans starting at 99.00 USD per month. The free Starter plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes one chatbot, 50 conversations per month, lead capture, email alerts, Calendly booking and custom branding. It is a low-risk way for a small firm to try the intake flow, but the monthly cap may constrain a busier site.

Professional costs 99.00 USD per month, billed per month. It includes one fully branded chatbot, 500 conversations per month, automatic Calendly booking, case-type lead qualification and a lead-tracking dashboard. It is the practical step up for a firm that has outgrown 50 conversations and wants a dashboard, though the single-bot and 500-conversation limits remain.

Growth costs 199.00 USD per month, billed per month. It raises the allowance to unlimited conversations and includes three chatbots, multiple practice areas per bot, CRM export and Zapier integration, plus removal of IntakeAI branding. Firms handling multiple practice areas or needing those integrations have the clearest reason to choose it; firms with modest volume may not need the extra capacity.

Platforms

IntakeAI is web-based. Its script-tag installation supports WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and custom HTML sites.

Who it's for

IntakeAI fits law firms that want website visitors to submit a basic inquiry and book a consultation outside office hours, especially when practice-area filtering and email follow-up are useful. Starter suits firms with limited intake volume; Professional suits those needing more capacity and tracking; Growth is aimed at firms with multiple bots, higher volume or CRM and Zapier needs. It is not a fit for anyone seeking automated legal advice or guaranteed lead capture.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free plan includes Calendly booking and email alerts, making it possible to use the core intake flow without a subscription.
Pros: Practice-area qualification can screen inquiries before staff follow up, and Growth adds multiple bots and CRM export plus Zapier.
Pros: Visitor conversations are delivered to the firm rather than retained on IntakeAI’s servers, according to its privacy policy.
Cons: Starter is capped at 50 conversations a month and Professional at 500, so firms must weigh traffic against plan limits.
Cons: The terms disclaim reliable understanding and complete capture, leaving the firm responsible for checking leads and handling missed inquiries.
Cons: CRM export and Zapier are only included with the 199.00 USD per month Growth plan.

Zayda is a freemium alternative with web, mobile and API platforms; its Free plan allows one user, one pipeline and 250 records, with email and WhatsApp lead response. Reflekt Legal has a free web plan with 30 calls, call transferring and appointment scheduling, but no free trial.

Intaker is a paid alternative with a free plan and mobile and web platforms; its Enhanced Services fees vary by usage and are non-refundable. Miranda is a paid web alternative. CaseGen offers a custom, month-to-month plan billed per call, with pricing tailored to call volume and an implementation fee based on setup. Eve AI Intake and Juryo are paid web alternatives. Lexidesk has a custom volume-based plan with one flat monthly fee set after a fit assessment; spam and duplicate contacts are not counted toward volume.

Verdict

IntakeAI is a sensible choice for a law firm that wants a website-based intake and booking channel, with a free entry point and a clear upgrade path as volume or integration needs grow. Its strongest case is handling routine lead capture and scheduling around the clock. Choose another approach if your firm needs dependable capture without human review, legal advice from a chatbot, or CRM and Zapier connections below the Growth tier.
