Overview

An audit trail accompanies the compliance workflows, and EEO-1 reporting is included. Together, these make Harmny relevant to teams managing recurring documentation and reporting rather than only general HR records. Compliance sits within 26 modules spanning Core HR, People Ops, Work, Analytics, and Engagement, so the product’s appeal is broader than this feature alone.

The founder describes a focus that also brings performance reviews, career frameworks, OKRs, and 1:1s into one place. That breadth may help teams looking to consolidate people processes; organizations wanting only a specialist reporting tool may find the wider scope unnecessary.

Key features

Compliance workflows: I-9, EEO-1, consent, and policy e-signatures are covered, with an audit trail. Having those processes together is useful for teams managing several recurring compliance tasks.
Integrations and API: Starter includes Google Calendar sync. Custom HRIS integrations are reserved for Enterprise, while the REST API is available on Growth and Enterprise. Teams that need HRIS connections or programmatic access should account for the higher plan requirements.
Enterprise controls: Enterprise includes SSO/SAML 2.0, SCIM provisioning, and custom data residency. These features suit organizations with specific access and data-location needs. A SOC 2 Type II audit is on the company’s roadmap.
Support: Support progresses from community on Free to email on Starter, priority on Growth, and a dedicated Customer Success Manager on Enterprise. The lower tiers may be less suitable for teams that require priority or named support.

Pricing

Harmny uses a freemium model, with paid plans from $8/user/mo and a 14-day trial on Starter and Growth. The trial requires no credit card.

Plan	Price and terms	Limits and inclusions
Free	Free; billed Forever free — no credit card required	Up to 10 users, 5 GB storage, and 2 MB file uploads; community support
Starter	8.00 USD per month; billed $6.40 / user / mo billed annually	Unlimited users with a 3-seat minimum, 50 GB storage, 25 MB file uploads, Google Calendar sync, and email support
Growth	16.00 USD per month; billed $12.80 / user / mo billed annually	Unlimited users with a 5-seat minimum, unlimited storage and file uploads, REST API, and priority support
Enterprise	Custom pricing; annual contracts available	Unlimited users, custom HRIS integrations, custom data residency, custom SLA, SSO/SAML 2.0, SCIM provisioning, and a dedicated Customer Success Manager

Free is the clearest fit for teams of up to 10 users that can work within 5 GB of storage and 2 MB uploads. Starter removes the user cap but requires at least three seats; its 25 MB upload limit and 50 GB storage still matter for teams handling larger volumes of files. Growth removes those storage and upload ceilings and adds API access, but its five-seat minimum makes it a more expensive step for small teams. Enterprise is for organizations needing custom integrations, data residency, or a custom SLA rather than a published price point.

Platforms

Harmny is available on web and through an API. The REST API is limited to Growth and Enterprise.

Who it's for

Harmny fits teams that want I-9, EEO-1, consent, and policy-signature workflows within a broader HR suite, especially those able to begin on Free or meet the paid plans’ seat minimums. It is a weaker fit for teams that need larger uploads on a no-cost plan, or organizations whose priority is a dedicated survey or engagement product rather than integrated HR workflows.

Pros and cons

Pros

Several compliance workflows in one feature set: I-9, EEO-1, consent, and policy e-signatures share an audit trail.
A usable free entry point: Teams up to 10 users can use the Free plan without a time limit or credit card.
Higher-tier capacity and controls: Growth removes storage and upload limits; Enterprise adds HRIS customization, data residency, SSO/SAML 2.0, and SCIM.

Cons

Severe free upload cap: A 2 MB maximum can constrain teams handling scanned or otherwise large documents.
Paid plans have minimum seats: Starter requires three seats and Growth five, which can make either a poor match for a smaller team that only needs a single paid user.
Key capabilities sit above Starter: REST API access begins at Growth, while custom HRIS integrations and advanced security controls require Enterprise.
Security assurance remains in progress: SOC 2 Type II is on the roadmap, not a completed audit.

Alternatives

For dedicated survey tools, compare Qualtrics and QuestionPro: each has a free plan, while Qualtrics Surveys Free is limited to one user, three active surveys, and 500 total responses, and QuestionPro Essentials includes one user and 200 responses per survey. Choose Teleskope Affinities if you want an enterprise ERG management product; pricing requires a demo. Culture Amp is another paid alternative, with annual pricing dependent on employee count, product, and service tier.

Moodivation is a paid alternative. Tivian Employee Experience offers nine pre-built solutions or a custom version, with details available by scheduling a call. Korn Ferry Assess is another paid option. Effectory offers paid plans including Starter with up to three languages and approximately five coordinators, and Professional with up to five languages and approximately 175 coordinators.

For broader category comparisons, browse Employee Experience Management Software, EEO Reporting Software, or Employee Survey Software.

Verdict

Choose Harmny HR Compliance if your team wants core compliance workflows with an audit trail as part of a wider HR platform, and its plan limits match your size and document needs. Its free tier makes it approachable for teams of up to 10, but the 2 MB upload cap is a real constraint; teams needing API access, larger uploads, or advanced integrations must budget for higher tiers.
