Overview

Happy Mood Score brings pulse surveys, engagement analytics, and public kudos into one web platform. The setup is designed to take five minutes, with no training, onboarding calls, or setup meetings. That makes it a practical option for teams that want to start collecting feedback without a formal rollout, though the offering centers on recurring pulses rather than a broader employee app.

Key features

Surveys and scheduling

Each survey email presents one question, and employees can respond without logging in or installing an app. That reduces participation friction, particularly for distributed teams, but is less suitable when a feedback program depends on a longer, multi-question survey experience. The question builder supports standard and eNPS questions with custom answer options. Delivery can be scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly, with a chosen time zone and dispatch day.

Analytics and recognition

Dashboards bring together engagement scores, trends, team heatmaps, response-rate breakdowns, and score distributions. Managers can organize employees into teams and review each team's scores, response rates, and rankings, which helps make patterns visible across offices or remote groups. Teammates can give public kudos tied to company values, and employees can tag recognition with those values. This connects feedback and recognition, although the analytics and kudos are most useful when the team actively uses both.

Administration, languages, and privacy

Employees can be added individually or imported in bulk, with roles, teams, and email preferences managed per person. English, Spanish, French, and German are supported, and each person can see the platform in their own language. Confidentiality thresholds are intended to protect small teams from having individual answers traced. The company says customer data is not shared or sold, is used only for the dashboard, and is hosted in Germany; it describes the service as fully GDPR compliant.

Pricing

The Free plan is free and includes all features for up to 20 employees. That is a meaningful fit for a small team that wants the full feature set without a paid commitment, but the employee cap is the point at which a growing organization must move up.

Growth costs 19.00 USD per month for teams of 21 or more employees, at a flat rate rather than per seat. That predictable charge favors larger teams over per-employee pricing, while the Free plan is the better fit for teams at or below its 20-employee limit. Both plans include all features, so the distinction is the team-size threshold rather than a reduced feature set.

Platforms

Happy Mood Score is available on the web. Employees answer surveys by email without an app or login, which keeps participation simple but does not provide a native mobile app experience.

Who it's for

It is best suited to growing teams across multiple offices or remote locations that want frequent, lightweight feedback, team comparisons, and value-linked recognition in one service. Teams that need longer survey interactions or a native employee app should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Low-friction participation: one-question email surveys require neither a login nor an app, reducing barriers to response.
Useful team visibility: heatmaps, response breakdowns, and team-level scores help managers see patterns across groups.
Full-featured small-team tier: the Free plan includes all features for up to 20 employees.
Predictable growth pricing: the 19.00 USD per month Growth plan is flat-rate for teams of 21 or more, not priced per seat.
Narrow survey format: one question at a time suits recurring pulses better than multi-question feedback flows.
Web-only platform: email response avoids an app requirement, but there is no native mobile app experience.

Verdict

Happy Mood Score is a strong fit for growing teams that want regular, low-friction feedback and visible peer recognition without a complex rollout. The free plan is unusually complete for teams of up to 20, while the flat Growth rate gives larger teams predictable pricing. Choose another tool if your survey program needs longer forms or your employees require a native mobile app.
