Overview

Founded in Melbourne in 2015, HammerTech brings safety, compliance and site operations into one platform. Subcontractor management, worker orientations, hazard planning, permits, inspections, incidents and daily reporting cover work that can otherwise be spread across separate processes. That range is most compelling for contractors applying consistent procedures across active sites, rather than teams with a narrow safety requirement.

Web access and iOS and Android apps share the same user login, so staff can move between office and site work without switching accounts. HammerTech identifies itself as ISO 9001:2015 certified and SOC 2 Type 1.

Key features

Safety and site workflows

The platform covers subcontractors, orientations, JHAs, SDS, pre-task plans, permits, inspections, observations, incidents, corrective actions, safety training, hazard assessments, daily reports and site access. This breadth can consolidate routine safety and operational work; organizations seeking only an inspection tool may have little reason to take on a wider platform.

AI assistance

HammerTech Intelligence can transcribe pre-task plans into tasks and hazards, populate site observations from photos, and extract SDS information from PDFs. These capabilities address repetitive entry in safety workflows, though the central appeal remains the broader platform rather than a standalone AI tool.

Integrations and access

Named integrations include Procore, Autodesk, CMiC, Irongate, Eyrus, Kwant, Acumatica and LUMA1, with an Open API for custom integrations. Integrations need to be enabled by HammerTech, so teams should account for that dependency when planning connections to existing systems.

Pricing

HammerTech is paid software with custom pricing tailored to annual construction volume, active job sites and operational complexity, rather than per-user fees. Its core plan includes safety workflows, integrations, implementation and onboarding, training, ongoing customer support and access to the knowledge hub. This model may suit contractors whose needs vary by scale, but buyers should request a quote to judge the overall cost.

Subcontractor access is free for subcontractors when the general contractor managing the project provides access. It is not a general free plan for an independent operation. Very small teams and single-project contractors are described as poor fits, making the paid platform difficult to justify for those users.

Platforms

HammerTech supports web, iOS and Android, and provides an API. The shared login across web and mobile is useful for staff who move between field and office work.

Who it's for

HammerTech is aimed at commercial and infrastructure contractors coordinating multiple job sites. Its combined workflows and mobile access are relevant where safety and site processes need to operate across that footprint. Small teams or single-project operations should look for a more focused fit.

Pros and cons

Broad construction coverage: Safety, compliance and site workflows sit together, which suits contractors standardizing work across projects.
Field and office access: iOS and Android apps complement web access under the same login.
Useful workflow automation: AI can structure pre-task plans, photo-based observations and SDS information.
Scale-dependent custom pricing: Pricing is not per user, but depends on construction volume and active sites, so it may be less suitable for small or single-project teams.
Integration enablement required: HammerTech must enable integrations, adding a step for customers connecting existing systems.

Alternatives

Safesite is worth considering for teams seeking a free entry point: its Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, includes unlimited members and guests, and limits reporting to the last 30 days. Its Premium plan is 16.00 USD per month, billed per member, per month; unlike HammerTech's scale-based pricing, that is a per-member model.

HCSS is another paid option, with custom quote pricing that requires company type and role. For other paid choices, EcoOnline, Enablon, Evotix and SafetyFirst offer web, iOS and Android access. Injury Management System has a free plan and web and iOS access; ShipManager Crewing is a paid option with web, iOS and Android access.

Verdict

Choose HammerTech if you are a commercial or infrastructure contractor managing multiple sites and want safety and site workflows in one mobile-capable platform. Its broad coverage is the main reason to choose it; scale-based custom pricing and its poor fit for very small or single-project operations are the clearest reasons to look elsewhere.
