Overview

UXArmy brings moderated and unmoderated studies, analysis and reporting into one platform. Teams can use it for usability testing, interviews, card sorting, tree testing, surveys and focus groups. That range suits teams investigating both user behavior and opinion; smaller teams can start with several methods on the free plan, but cannot record tests or use UXArmy’s participant panel there.

Key features

Studies and prototypes

Research can target websites, mobile apps, Figma prototypes and AI-generated prototypes. The Figma integration supports prototype testing and interaction tracking, making UXArmy relevant before a product is fully built as well as after launch. Moderated and unmoderated formats give teams flexibility, though the listed recording caps—50 minutes for unmoderated sessions and three hours for moderated ones—may constrain longer sessions.

Analysis and sharing

AI summaries, sentiment analysis, automatic transcription, heatmaps, navigation and path analysis, and downloadable reports cover several steps from interpreting feedback to communicating results. Connections to Slack and Google Sheets, plus Excel and CSV exports, help teams move study data into existing workflows. These tools are a practical strength for teams that need to share findings, but the free plan’s lack of recordings limits what users can review after a session.

Security and support

UXArmy states that it is SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, GDPR and HIPAA compliant. It says confidential data is hosted on AWS and data in transit uses 256-bit SSL/TLS 1.2 encryption, which may matter to teams handling sensitive research. Email and chat support are offered; Organization adds personalized onboarding and priority support.

Pricing

UXArmy has a free plan and paid plans, with the listed paid-from figure of $25/mo (annual). The plan terms below show important seat and credit differences; the free tier is a useful way to run smaller, unrecorded studies, while teams needing recordings or participant recruitment must budget for paid access or an add-on.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per free	1 full seat and 15 monthly credits; no recordings or participant panel. Figma tests, surveys, card sorting and tree testing are supported.
Starter (monthly billing)	29.00 USD per month	1 full seat, 29 monthly credits, pay-as-you-go extra responses; participant panel available as an add-on.
Pro (monthly billing)	99.00 USD per month	3 full seats, 99 monthly credits, 3 collaborator seats, team roles, and collaborative test creation and analysis.
Starter (annual billing)	2514.00 USD per month	1 full seat, 29 monthly credits, pay-as-you-go extra responses; participant panel available as an add-on.
Pro (annual billing)	8217.00 USD per month	3 full seats, 99 monthly credits, 3 collaborator seats, team roles, and collaborative test creation and analysis.
Organization	Custom pricing	Custom seats and credits, AI Moderator, participant management, SSO and priority support.

Starter is suited to one-person research workflows, but its single full seat and 29 monthly credits make it a constrained choice for heavier study volume; extra responses are pay-as-you-go. Pro is the more practical fit for a team that needs role management and shared creation and analysis. The free plan’s 15 monthly credits and one seat are modest, and the absence of recordings and panel access is a material limitation. The Organization plan targets larger or more structured programs needing custom capacity, participant management or SSO.

Platforms

UXArmy supports Android, iOS and web. Its mobile-app testing support is useful to teams researching across device types rather than only browser experiences.

Who it's for

Product managers, designers and marketers can launch studies with minimal setup, while researchers can draw on the more advanced analysis features. UXArmy is best for teams wanting a broad mix of methods and targets in one workspace. It is less compelling for a solo user who depends on recordings or recruited participants but wants to stay on the free tier.

Pros and cons

Broad method coverage: usability testing, interviews, sorting, tree testing, surveys and focus groups accommodate varied research questions.
Prototype and live-product reach: website, app, Figma and AI-generated prototype testing covers work at different product stages.
Useful analysis and export options: transcription, heatmaps, path analysis and downloadable reports support interpretation and sharing.
Free-tier restrictions: no recordings or participant panel, despite support for several study types.
Capacity and price trade-offs: Starter has one full seat, while collaboration features begin with Pro; extra Starter responses cost more.

Alternatives

Userfeel is worth considering for a free option with three monthly credits, one admin, bring-your-own-tester support, demographic filters and screener questions. Maze is another freemium alternative with a free trial. HeyMarvin is a freemium option with a free trial. Hurley offers a free plan with 20 total credits and video, voice and chat interviews, which may suit teams prioritizing interview formats. InsightLab has a free plan with 100 tickets per month and imports from Intercom, Zendesk and CSV, making it more relevant to teams analyzing support feedback. Whyser provides a free allowance of 10 interviews, up to 25 minutes each, with AI summaries and analysis. Dovetail offers a free plan limited to one channel and one project with basic chat and AI summaries. Qualitati has a free plan with 30 monthly credits.

Verdict

UXArmy is a strong choice for product teams and researchers that need varied study methods, prototype support and analysis in one platform. Its free plan is a credible starting point for unrecorded studies, but teams that need recordings, the participant panel or collaboration should weigh the paid plan limits and costs. Look elsewhere if a free workflow must include recorded sessions or if you need a different specialized research focus.
