Overview

The service covers wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and beneficiary planning across all 50 states. Its plans are state-specific, but online preparation is only part of the process: documents must be signed and notarized after receipt or download to become legally binding.

Trust & Will is not a law firm, and its forms are not a substitute for an attorney. Optional attorney access can help people who want one-on-one support, but those who need legal advice should not treat document preparation alone as a replacement for counsel.

Key features

Document bundles

The Will Plan brings together a Last Will & Testament, HIPAA Authorization, Living Will, and Power of Attorney. It is a broader package than a will alone for someone who wants to address health information and financial decision-making as well as inheritance.

The Trust Plan adds a revocable living trust, pour-over will, schedule of assets, and certification of trust to the health and power-of-attorney documents. That makes it the more relevant bundle for someone planning to use a trust, though it costs considerably more than the will package.

Membership, storage, and mobile access

Membership features include ongoing plan edits, digital downloads, document shipping, a Digital Safe, a Plan Strength Score, and an AI assistant. The Essentials membership adds personalized plan support, Digital Safe, Plan Strength Score, and an advanced AI assistant; it is the ongoing option for people who expect to revisit their plan rather than leave it unchanged.

The iOS and Android apps let members review documents and add or track assets. Editing documents and updating a plan require the website, so mobile use is suited to review and asset tracking rather than full plan maintenance.

Security and support

The company says stored data uses AES 256-bit encryption and data in transit uses TLS 1.2. It also says SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA examinations resulted in an independent CPA report and certification. After an account deletion request, associated information and documents are removed; security backups are removed 35 days later. Customer support is included and available Monday through Friday.

Pricing

The Basic membership is free and supports estate-plan creation without an ongoing membership. It is a sensible starting point for someone who wants to create a plan without paying for continued membership features.

Essentials membership costs $49/year. It adds personalized plan support, a Digital Safe, Plan Strength Score, and advanced AI assistant. It is the recurring-cost choice for ongoing membership features, rather than a substitute for the separately priced document bundles.

The Will Plan starts at $199 as a one-time purchase and includes a Last Will & Testament, HIPAA Authorization, Living Will, and Power of Attorney. It fits people seeking that core document set without a trust. The Trust Plan starts at $499 as a one-time purchase and adds trust-specific documents, making it more appropriate when a revocable living trust is part of the plan.

Attorney Support costs $299 as a flat fee for one year of phone access to a licensed estate planning attorney. It is not available in Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Oregon, Louisiana, South Carolina, or Tennessee. This is the paid route for one-on-one attorney access, but it does not change the service's stated limitation: Trust & Will is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice through its forms.

There is no free trial. The free plan lets people begin without a paid membership, while the paid choices separate document creation, ongoing membership features, and attorney access into distinct costs.

Platforms

Trust & Will is available on the web, Android, and iOS. The apps support document review and asset tracking; document editing and plan updates take place on the website.

Who it's for

Trust & Will is a good fit for people who want an online route to state-specific estate documents, especially those choosing between a will package and a trust package. The free starting option lowers the barrier to plan creation, and the separate membership and attorney-support purchases let users pay for ongoing features or phone access only if they want them.

It is less suitable for anyone who expects the online forms themselves to provide legal counsel or who wants a legally binding plan without completing signing and notarization. People needing individualized advice should consider whether the attorney-support option meets their needs or seek an attorney directly.

Pros and cons

Pros: A free plan offers estate-plan creation without an ongoing membership charge.
Pros: The Will and Trust Plans bundle health and power-of-attorney documents with core estate documents, with the trust plan also including a schedule of assets and certification of trust.
Pros: Optional one-year attorney phone access provides a defined path to one-on-one support for an additional flat fee.
Pros: Web, Android, and iOS access supports document review and asset tracking across devices.
Cons: Documents require signing and notarization after receipt or download before they are legally binding.
Cons: The service does not provide legal advice, so form preparation may not meet the needs of people seeking individualized counsel.
Cons: Attorney Support is unavailable in seven states: Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Oregon, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Cons: Plan updates and document editing are limited to the website, not the mobile apps.

Choose it when its bundled documents match your needs and you are prepared to complete signing and notarization.
