Overview

Infrascale Workstation Backup is a paid backup service for business computers and mobile devices, with centralized controls for managing protected endpoints. It is best suited to businesses and managed service providers looking after mixed fleets; individual users seeking a clearly priced personal plan should look elsewhere.

Its strongest case is the combination of broad endpoint coverage, real-time change capture and unlimited retention. Storage-based custom pricing and an automatically renewing trial mean buyers should confirm costs and cancellation timing before signing up.

Key features

The service supports file and image backup, plus bare-metal recovery. That makes it relevant both for restoring individual files and for recovering a machine after a serious failure. Unlimited retention and version history are useful where older recovery points matter, rather than a short rotation of backups.

Live Protect captures changes on protected endpoints in real time. Ransomware anomaly detection alerts when new or changed files rise dramatically against established benchmarks. The alert can help administrators spot unusual activity, but it is not a stated guarantee that an attack will be stopped or that every affected file can be recovered.

Centralized deployment and policy management, MSI installer support, and integrations with RMM and PSA tools point to managed fleets rather than one-off personal use. ConnectWise Manage and Autotask PSA are named integrations. Providers can brand endpoint applications for their customers, while the Dashboard can remotely track devices and wipe lost or stolen machines.

Workstation backup uses end-to-end double-blind encryption, with optional private-key encryption through UltraSafe. Infrascale says its cloud services are certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Backup data and metadata are hosted on Google Cloud Platform locations in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, the European Union and South Africa, giving organizations several regional hosting choices.

The service-level agreement commits to 99.9% monthly availability for Infrascale-hosted backup infrastructure. Technical support, a support portal, documentation and live support chat are also provided.

Pricing

Infrascale Cloud Backup

This is a storage-based subscription sold in 1 TB increments, with unlimited endpoint devices and unlimited retention. The price is custom pricing, so organizations should request a quote and evaluate the storage commitment against their fleet size and retention needs. The unlimited device allowance can suit providers managing many endpoints, but the storage-based model means the quoted cost is central to deciding whether it fits.

A free trial starts at sign-up and automatically renews at $49.00 per month unless cancelled before it ends. That renewal is worth treating as a firm deadline, not an optional next step.

Platforms

Infrascale protects Windows PCs, OS X Macs, iOS devices and Android devices. Its broad coverage is useful for businesses with mixed endpoint fleets, though the strongest management features are aimed at organizational and service-provider use rather than individual consumers.

Who it's for

Businesses and managed service providers protecting laptops, desktops and servers are the clearest fit. Centralized deployment, policies, branding and RMM/PSA integrations make it practical to manage multiple customer or employee endpoints. A home user with one computer is less likely to benefit from those controls and may prefer a simpler plan with a published price.

Pros and cons

Pros

Unlimited endpoint devices and unlimited retention can accommodate expanding fleets without a per-device plan cap.
Live Protect, version history and bare-metal recovery offer multiple routes to preserve and restore business data.
Remote tracking and wipe, policy management and MSI deployment support centralized administration.
ConnectWise Manage and Autotask PSA integrations and customer branding support managed service workflows.

Cons

Custom pricing makes budgeting and direct price comparison harder before requesting a quote.
The trial renews at $49.00 per month unless cancelled before it ends, so trial users must track the cancellation deadline.
Ransomware detection is described as anomaly alerting, not prevention or guaranteed recovery.

Alternatives

IDrive is worth considering for buyers who want a freemium option, a 10 GB Basic plan, or a low-cost 100 GB one-user Mini plan at 0.25 USD per month, billed monthly. It also supports Linux, unlike Infrascale's stated endpoint coverage.

EaseUS Todo Backup suits Windows or macOS users who want a free plan for file, system, disk and partition backup and recovery, or a published Home Yearly plan at 39.95 USD per year for one computer and 1 TB cloud storage.

BDRShield Endpoint Backup is another option for organizations that want a freemium product with Linux and self-hosted platform support, as well as subscription or perpetual licensing under its custom-quote endpoint/workstation plan.

Datto Endpoint Backup for Windows may suit buyers who prefer consumption-based pricing tied to storage used, with pricing requested from Datto.

UrBackup is a freemium alternative with an AGPLv3+ open-source core, file and image backups, and a self-hosted server.

Backblaze Computer Backup is a paid alternative with a published Monthly plan at 9.00 USD per month for unlimited backup data.

Axcient x360Recover is another paid option, with usage-based endpoint rates that vary by workstation or server and require a pricing request.

Arq Pro may suit managed fleets that want published pricing: 250.00 USD per month for up to 100 managed computers, plus 2.50 USD per computer per month above that limit.

Verdict

Choose Infrascale Workstation Backup if you manage business or customer endpoints and value broad device coverage, centralized controls, real-time capture and long-lived recovery history. Its unlimited endpoints and retention are compelling for managed fleets, but custom pricing and the trial's automatic $49.00 monthly renewal make it important to get a quote and calendar cancellation before committing. If you need a simple, openly priced backup for one or a few personal devices, choose a more transparent alternative.
