Overview

Famnest combines a shared family calendar, meal planning, recipes, health tracking, shared lists, and to-dos. That makes it a practical option for households looking to consolidate several kinds of planning in one app; families who only need a shared schedule may find its wider scope unnecessary.

Previously loaded content can be viewed offline, but syncing, AI, and most real-time updates need an internet connection. Famnest is not a strong fit for households that need an offline-first organizer.

Key features

Calendar and household tasks

The shared calendar, to-dos, chores, routines, reminders, and shopping lists address everyday coordination. The free plan includes a family calendar and shared to-dos, but Google Calendar syncing and unlimited chores are Premium features. That makes the free tier useful for basic organization, while households that rely on Google Calendar or manage many recurring chores will need to pay.

Meals and AI

Both plans include meal planning and recipes, while Premium removes limits on meal plans and recipes. Famnest’s meal planner can generate recipes from available ingredients and preferences, a potentially useful way to turn what is on hand into meal ideas. Its AI assistant, Mary, answers questions using family data; Premium subscribers get unlimited questions. Certain AI features use Anthropic Claude and xAI Grok, and limited information may be sent to those providers to process requests, a consideration for families weighing the convenience of AI against data sharing.

Health records and family coverage

Premium includes unlimited health records and documents. One subscription covers the whole family, with no stated member limit, which is a clear advantage for larger households compared with per-person access. Adults aged 18 or older are the intended users; adults or legal guardians may manage child-related data.

Privacy and support

Famnest says data is stored on EU-based servers, encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted and monitored. Account data may remain for up to three months after closure, with some records kept longer when required by law. Users can contact support through a form or at hello@getfamnest.com; Stair Path AB, based in Saltsjöbaden, Sweden, is identified as the data controller.

Pricing

Famnest is freemium, with a 7-day free trial and Premium from $6.99/mo.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per free; billed $0 forever	Shared to-dos, family calendar, chores and routines, meal planning basics, and recipes.
Premium	6.99 USD per month; billed $6.99 / month	Google Calendar sync, Weekly Digest with Famnest AI, unlimited health records, documents, chores, meal plans, and recipes. One subscription covers your family.

Free is a sensible starting point for households that need basic shared planning and can live without Google Calendar sync or unlimited use. Premium is the better fit for families who want those features and greater capacity for records, documents, chores, and meal planning. Its monthly price covers the family rather than charging by member, but the listed Premium rate is recurring monthly.

Platforms

Famnest is available on Android, iOS, macOS, and the web. Previously loaded content can be viewed offline, but core syncing and most live updates depend on internet access.

Who it's for

Famnest suits households that want schedules, meals, chores, and family records in one place, especially when several members need access under one subscription. It is less compelling for people seeking only a calendar, or for households that need reliable offline syncing or prefer not to send limited request information to AI providers.

Pros and cons

Broad household coverage: Calendars, meals, health records, chores, lists, and to-dos sit in one organizer, reducing the need to split those jobs across apps.
Family-wide Premium subscription: One subscription covers the whole household with no stated member cap.
Useful free foundation: The free plan includes a calendar, shared to-dos, chores and routines, and basic meal planning.
Paid limits matter: Google Calendar sync and unlimited records, documents, chores, meal plans, and recipes require Premium.
Internet-dependent features: Syncing, AI, and most real-time updates require an internet connection.
AI involves external processing: Limited information may be sent to Anthropic Claude or xAI Grok for certain AI requests.

Verdict

Choose Famnest if your household wants one place for planning, meals, chores, and family records, and you value one subscription for everyone. Its substantial free tier makes it easy to start, while Premium adds Google Calendar sync and removes key limits. Look elsewhere if offline-first use is essential, or if you want a simpler calendar without AI-related data processing.
