Overview

Forge connects installed assets, brings their data together and applies AI-enabled analysis alongside operational constraints. The aim is to support real-time enterprise decisions and automated processes grounded in operating conditions. Its applications span industrial operations, connected buildings, life sciences, supply chain and OT cybersecurity, making the portfolio relevant to organizations with several kinds of operational work. That breadth also makes Forge a product family rather than one uniform application.

Honeywell identifies 2019 as Forge’s founding year. Some Forge cloud products run on Azure, AWS or Salesforce Cloud. Honeywell lists SOC 2 Type II for Forge Performance+ and several named Forge products, and describes a security operations center that monitors incidents under a defined response policy. Its product security incident response team handles vulnerability reports.

Key features

Process control and field rounds

Advanced Process Control coordinates planning, control and blending in real time, with cloud-based or on-premise analytics. That makes it relevant to operations seeking to align these activities; term-based licensing and feature choices mean buyers should confirm which capabilities suit their process. Inspection Rounds covers configuring and scheduling operator rounds, monitoring them, reviewing issues and producing compliance reports. Offline capture with later synchronization is a practical advantage for field teams working beyond reliable connectivity.

The operator application supports major operating systems and Honeywell wearables. Integrations include SAP, historians, SQL servers, Honeywell DynAMo Logbook and Excel, which can connect round workflows with existing operational records. These integrations are specific to Inspection Rounds, not a promise of universal portfolio-wide connectivity.

Building data and APIs

The Forge API Marketplace provides bidirectional access to building data, with integration contexts including building management systems, IoT sensors, computer-aided facilities management platforms, digital twins and enterprise applications. APIs are an add-on to existing Forge applications, so they suit customers extending a Forge deployment rather than buyers seeking a standalone API product. Developer tools include API keys, a sandbox, documentation and testing.

Monitoring and compliance capabilities

Forge’s stated capabilities include real-time stream processing, anomaly detection, machine-learning tools, passive monitoring and OT asset discovery. Alert channels include SMS, voice calls, email, desktop and mobile app alerts, as well as two-way messaging. Security and compliance functions include SIEM integration, document control, audit management, corrective actions, nonconformance tracking, compliance records and approval workflows. These functions give buyers a broad set of capabilities to evaluate for operational security and governance, but the specific Forge product that includes each one matters.

Pricing

Forge is paid software with custom pricing. The product-specific offerings do not have a single portfolio price; Advanced Process Control uses term-based licensing with feature choices, and prospective customers should contact Honeywell to discuss price and fit. This structure can accommodate different operational requirements, but makes it harder to compare costs before defining the products and capabilities needed. Honeywell offers prospective customers a demo, while existing customers have a support link.

Platforms

Forge lists Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows, web and API support. Deployment includes on-premises options, and Advanced Process Control can use cloud-based or on-premise analytics. The precise platform and deployment choices depend on the application; the broad portfolio-level list should not be read as every product supporting every platform.

Who it's for

Forge is a strong candidate for industrial and regulated organizations that need operational analytics, process control, field inspection workflows, building-data access or OT security capabilities. It is less suited to buyers who want one clearly bounded application with a published price, or who cannot first identify which product-specific features and licensing their operation requires.

Pros and cons

Pros: Combines asset data and operational constraints for real-time decision support, an approach suited to complex operating environments.
Pros: Inspection Rounds supports offline capture and later synchronization, helping field teams continue work when connectivity drops.
Pros: The portfolio spans process operations, field rounds, building APIs and OT security capabilities, giving organizations several relevant use cases to assess with one vendor.
Cons: Custom, product-specific pricing and term-based licensing for Advanced Process Control make costs difficult to assess without a sales discussion.
Cons: APIs are an add-on to existing Forge applications, so organizations seeking API access alone may find the offering poorly matched to their needs.
Cons: Capabilities and platform support vary by application, so buyers must establish product fit rather than assume the portfolio is a single integrated toolset.

Alternatives

For a security-focused comparison, Nozomi Networks Platform has a free Nozomi Vantage SaaS plan at 0.00 USD per free; its cloud-hosted security infrastructure is used to license hardware and Guardian nodes. Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity Platform is another paid option for enterprise OT/IoT environments, with pricing by demo or sales inquiry.

Radiflow iSID is a paid alternative with pricing by inquiry. Claroty CTD may suit buyers prioritizing federal OT cybersecurity controls, on-premises deployment and mobile flyaway kits. Claroty xDome is a modular SaaS alternative with pricing by sales inquiry. Dragos Platform is a paid option for buyers who want to request a platform demo.

Tenable One Attack Surface Management is worth considering when unified visibility across IT, cloud, web applications, OT and external attack surfaces is the priority; its Foundation plan includes attack surface management. Tenable One OT Exposure uses one license per detected IP address under both its standalone subscription and perpetual/maintenance plans, a licensing basis buyers should weigh against their deployment.

For adjacent categories, explore OT and ICS Security Monitoring Software, Energy Management Software, Manufacturing Analytics Software, Mass Notification Software, Quality Management Software and IoT Analytics Software.

Verdict

Choose Honeywell Forge if your organization operates in a complex or regulated environment and needs a portfolio spanning operational insight, process control, field rounds, building data or OT security. Its main advantage is the range of operational capabilities, including offline field capture and real-time process analytics. Look elsewhere if you need a single, clearly priced product or cannot define the specific Forge applications and licenses your operation requires.
