Overview

Hosts can customize digital invitations, send them by email, text, or link, and manage responses, messages, and automatic reminders. Free Event Pages offer a browser-based route for casual events: hosts can create them and guests can RSVP without installing an app. That makes Evite practical for mixed-device guest lists, while the free tier's stated 12-guest limit can constrain larger gatherings.

Evite also offers digital greeting cards and sign-up sheets for potluck contributions or volunteer arrival times. The combination covers more than sending an invitation, though its value depends on whether a host needs those coordination tools.

Key features

Invitations and guest management

Custom invitations can be shared through three delivery channels, with RSVP tracking, guest messaging, and automatic reminders in the same service. This is a useful package for hosts who need to monitor responses and follow up. The free invitation cap is 12 guests; larger lists require a package or Pro.

Event Pages and planning

Event Pages are free textable invitations created in a phone, tablet, or desktop browser. Guests can respond without downloading an app, reducing friction for invitees. Sign-up sheets add a simple way to divide contributions or volunteer tasks, making Event Pages more useful than a basic attendance list for informal events.

Cards and design

Digital greeting cards can be scheduled or sent immediately by text or email. Hosts can upload their own invitation designs, and Evite says its Canva app can send a design directly to Evite. Premium invitations add an ad-free experience, a matching envelope and stamps, and extra photo and text cards; those extras are aimed at hosts who care about presentation rather than just collecting RSVPs.

Pricing

Evite is freemium. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes free invitations and Event Pages; premium invitation prices vary by guest-list size. Its stated 12-guest limit makes it a fit for small gatherings, but not a reliable choice for a larger free invite list.

Paid invitation packages are for single-event use, so they suit occasional hosts rather than people organizing events throughout the year. Silver costs 17.99 USD per month (billed) for 12 guests; Gold costs 36.99 USD per month (billed) for 30 guests; Platinum costs 68.99 USD per month (billed) for 75 guests; and Diamond costs 99.99 USD per month (billed) for 750 guests. The larger packages raise capacity substantially, but each is still tied to one event.

Evite Pro costs 249.99 USD per year (billed annually) and allows up to 2,500 guests per invitation. It is the more natural option for hosts running multiple events a year, including businesses, schools, clubs, organizations, and weddings. Users must be at least 18 to purchase subscriptions; users must be at least 16 to register or use Evite.

Platforms

Evite lists apps for Android and iOS. Event Pages can be created in a mobile, tablet, or desktop browser, and guests can RSVP without an app, so hosts can use the browser option when guests have different devices or do not want another installation.

Who it's for

Evite is a sensible fit for casual-event hosts who want an RSVP list, follow-up messaging, reminders, and basic contribution coordination together. Free Event Pages are particularly useful for small gatherings and guests who prefer a browser. Hosts with larger one-off events can select a package by capacity; frequent organizers are better matched to Pro. It is less compelling for someone whose only need is a small free invitation and who does not need Evite's guest-management tools, or for recurring hosts who would rather avoid an annual subscription.

Pros and cons

Pros: Email, text, and link delivery alongside RSVP tracking, guest messages, and reminders keeps core guest communication together.
Pros: Free browser-based Event Pages and no-app RSVPs make participation easier for guests who do not want to install an app.
Pros: Sign-up sheets support practical coordination such as potluck contributions and volunteer slots.
Cons: The Free plan's 12-guest cap rules it out for many larger gatherings.
Cons: Silver through Diamond packages are single-event purchases, so repeated events may make Pro's annual subscription the more suitable paid route.
Cons: Premium invitation prices vary by guest-list size, making the cost dependent on the event's scale.

Verdict

Choose Evite if you want invitations, responses, follow-ups, and light guest coordination in one service, especially for casual events where browser-based RSVPs matter. Its free Event Pages are the clearest draw, while larger guest lists and repeat events require a paid package or Pro. Look elsewhere if the free 12-guest limit is too small or if Evite's paid structure does not fit how often you host.
