Overview

Ezlogz ELD is a commercial trucking service combining electronic hours-of-service logs with fleet operations tools. It is best suited to owner-operators and fleet teams that want inspections, tracking and reporting alongside logging. Its operational breadth is useful, but required hardware and custom pricing make it a less direct choice for buyers seeking a simple, hardware-free logbook.

Founded in 2015, Ezlogz launched its Android and iOS beta that November. The service is intended for commercial truck drivers, fleet managers and owner-operators.

Key features

Logging and inspections

The Android and iOS app supports HOS logs and vehicle inspections, including electronic DVIR workflows. Automatic logging of work and rest hours reduces manual entry, and offline logging helps drivers continue keeping records when connectivity is unavailable. The ELD Device plan is FMCSA compliant, and Ezlogz is FMCSA-registered. The required device is an important practical constraint for anyone looking to avoid dedicated hardware.

Fleet visibility and reporting

Real-time GPS tracking and monitoring give fleet managers visibility into operations. Alerts cover driver behavior, vehicle performance and route progress; HOS compliance reports and fuel-use analytics add information for compliance oversight and operating decisions. These tools make more sense for fleets that will act on operational signals than for drivers who only need an electronic logbook.

Assistant and integrations

EzChatAI is integrated as an AI-driven assistant for fleet managers and drivers. The system is designed to connect with GPS tracking, vehicle diagnostics, document management, dispatch, accounting and maintenance systems. Ezlogz also offers a free API integration library with ELD integration capabilities, a useful option for organizations connecting the service to other software.

Support and security

Ezlogz provides 24/7 customer support and assigns each fleet a dedicated account manager. It says it uses firewalls, encryption, physical data-center access controls and controls over information access. It does not collect or store payment information, instead using a third-party secure payment gateway.

Pricing

Ezlogz uses a paid model with custom pricing; contact the company to assess the cost for your operation. The ELD Device plan includes FMCSA compliance, a free load board, AI truck navigation, electronic DVIR, real-time GPS tracking and 24/7 support. No seat count or other usage cap is stated, so fleets should confirm the terms that apply to their size and deployment before committing.

Because hardware is required, the plan is not a software-only route. Its included tracking, inspections and support will be more relevant to fleets seeking an operational bundle than to drivers who need logging alone.

Platforms

Ezlogz ELD supports Android, iOS, web and API access. The mobile apps handle HOS logs and inspections, while API access supports integrations. Offline logging is also supported, helping preserve logging functionality when a connection is unavailable.

Who it's for

Owner-operators and fleet managers who want automatic HOS logging, electronic inspections and real-time fleet oversight in a single service should consider Ezlogz. Reporting, alerts and integration options are most useful when a fleet has the capacity to use them in day-to-day operations. Drivers seeking a basic logbook without required hardware, or buyers who need a known upfront price, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Automatic and offline HOS logging, with FMCSA compliance and electronic DVIR, supports both records and inspection workflows.
Pros: Tracking, driver and vehicle alerts, and HOS and fuel reports extend the service beyond logkeeping for fleet operations.
Pros: 24/7 support and a dedicated account manager give fleets a direct support channel.
Cons: Required ELD hardware rules out a software-only setup.
Cons: Custom pricing means buyers must contact Ezlogz to evaluate cost rather than compare a published price.

Alternatives

Electronic Logging Device Software is a useful starting point for comparing ELD options. Consider Pedigree Technologies OneView ELD if you prefer an ELD requiring a Pedigree-approved phone or tablet. Transflo Mobile+ ELD may suit fleets or brokers able to provide the required authorization and Fleet or Broker ID; premium add-ons are available.

J. J. Keller Encompass ELD is another paid option with Android, iOS, web and API platforms; its subscription price varies by term and user count. If a freemium option is preferable, Konexial My20 ELD offers a free plan, as well as an app with POI mapping, messaging, Spanish-language availability and US-based customer support. Other paid options include BigRoad ELD, Orient ELD, 24HOS ELD and ELD GO.

Verdict

Ezlogz ELD is a strong candidate for owner-operators and fleet teams that want compliance logging combined with inspections, tracking, reporting and fleet support. Its strongest reason to choose it is the breadth of fleet tools around the logbook; its clearest reason to look elsewhere is the combination of required hardware and custom pricing.
