Overview

Epicor Field Service Management is field-service software for businesses that coordinate technicians and installations away from the office. It is a stronger fit for service organizations whose dispatch, contract work and billing need to connect to an ERP than for teams looking only for a standalone scheduler. Its operational breadth is useful, but the required additional subscription or license and custom pricing make the commitment less straightforward to assess.

Key features

Dispatchers can plan through calendar views that bring together customer information, service history, technician availability and schedules. Tracking qualifications, skills and certifications can help match people to jobs that require particular capabilities; performance and time-use reporting adds a management view of how field resources are being used. This is more compelling for varied service operations than for a small team with simple appointment needs.

Work orders can use default and calculated values to automate and validate costs, while tracking profitability and spending against budgets. That puts financial control alongside job coordination, which matters when teams need to understand job economics as work proceeds. Organizations that need only to assign and close jobs may not need this level of cost tracking.

Contracts can be arranged around time periods, locations and equipment lists, including blanket contracts for customers with multiple locations. Automated billing for contracts and related services can reduce repeat administrative work for businesses with recurring obligations. The product also supports invoicing and payments, purchase orders, invoice submission, document management, supplier onboarding and status updates.

The cloud system shares data through a central database and supports mobile devices and laptops; Android, iOS and web are supported, and offline mode is available. Direct ERP integration is intended to let staff handle dispatch, scheduling, billing and traceability without changing applications. IoT machine connectivity and configurable real-time updates offer additional operational visibility. Epicor says its cloud environments are monitored around the clock and that security patches are applied automatically.

Pricing

Epicor Field Service Management is paid, with custom pricing. The product requires an additional subscription or license, and customers are directed to their Epicor account manager for pricing and deployment details. There is no published plan breakdown to compare by team size or usage, so buyers should confirm licensing scope and total cost before committing.

Platforms

The product supports Android, iOS and web, and can be used on mobile devices or laptops. Offline mode is available, a practical advantage for field work where connectivity may be intermittent.

Who it's for

Epicor describes the system as optimized for service organizations using mobile field resources and says it supports service and installation businesses. It is best suited to operations that need technician dispatch, skills-based assignment, cost-aware work orders, service contracts and billing in an ERP-connected workflow. Buyers outside the U.S. and Canada should confirm regional availability with Epicor before planning a deployment.

Pros and cons

Pro: Dispatch, technician qualifications, service history and calendar scheduling work together, supporting more informed assignment than a basic schedule alone.
Pro: Contract structures and automated billing suit recurring work, including service across multiple customer locations.
Pro: Work-order cost validation and budget tracking give managers financial visibility alongside field execution.
Pro: Mobile access, offline mode and ERP integration support teams working across office and field workflows.
Con: Custom pricing and an additional subscription or license mean buyers must resolve cost and licensing directly with Epicor.
Con: The breadth of dispatch, contract and cost-management functions may be unnecessary for teams that only need straightforward appointment scheduling.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, browse Field Service Management Software or Supplier Portal Software.

Choose Coupa Supplier Portal when supplier transactions are the priority: its free plan covers purchase orders, invoicing, supplier information exchange, shipment tracking and catalog management. Ivalua Contract Management is an alternative for buyers focused on enterprise contract lifecycle management. Market Dojo is worth considering for sourcing and eAuctions, with a free plan and an annual Simple Sourcing license priced at 500.00 GBP per year. mySupplier is another paid, web-based option. HICX Supplier Portal offers an enterprise supplier portal with pricing by contact. Infilabs Employee Portal suits buyers seeking independently licensed portal modules, including self-hosted deployment. JAGGAER Contracts is a paid web-based contracts option with pricing by contact. eProcureAI VendorHub is a separately quoted add-on.

Verdict

Choose Epicor Field Service Management if your service or installation operation needs mobile dispatch, contract billing and job-cost control tied to an ERP. That combination is its clearest strength. Look elsewhere if you need only a simple scheduler or want transparent pricing before speaking with a vendor.
