Overview

Eli makes peer review part of a course workflow rather than a standalone exchange. Learners respond to criteria-based prompts, plan revisions, submit new drafts, and compare versions. Instructors can follow participation and growth signals alongside the work itself. That combination makes Eli a good fit when peer feedback is an intentional teaching practice; it may be more than a course needs for an occasional review activity.

Key features

Feedback that leads to revision

Criteria-based questions and prompts give reviewers a shared frame, and helpfulness ratings let instructors assess whether feedback is useful. Rubric scoring and double-blind reviewer anonymity support structured assessment and anonymous review. Learners can make revision plans, submit revised drafts, and compare drafts to see what changed. The sequence links reviewing to action, rather than treating comments as the end of the assignment.

Course coordination and analytics

Eli can sync rosters from an LMS, create review groups automatically, send reminders, and schedule reusable assignment sequences. These tools can reduce routine coordination for instructors running recurring review cycles. Analytics track participation, effort, and reciprocity, flagging learners as Strong, Steady, Emerging, or Stalled. Data Stories surface patterns in those areas and growth over time, giving instructors a broader view of learning activity than assignment completion alone.

Ownership, privacy, and accessibility

Eli says it does not claim ownership of educational materials created on the platform, aims to collect only information needed to provide and support the service, and does not sell user data. It describes reasonable technical and organizational security measures. The maker works toward WCAG and Section 508 requirements; its accessibility report covers the student-side web application and includes WCAG 2.2 A and AA among applicable standards. Messages to support are routed to the appropriate person, with a response within one business day.

Pricing

Plan	Price	What it means
Instructor access	0.00 USD per free	Unlimited courses and all platform features make it suitable for instructors evaluating or running courses without a personal instructor fee.
Student access — One Term	28.95 USD per once	Access lasts four months, making this the shorter commitment for students taking part for one term.
Student access — One Year	52.95 USD per year	Access lasts 12 months. It suits students who need access across a longer period, rather than paying for one term at a time.
Department or institution purchase	custom pricing	Institutional arrangements vary by program size, anticipated usage, and implementation goals. They include professional development support, program-level engagement analytics, LMS integration support, and implementation guidance.

The free instructor plan does not make student access free, so course adoption can mean a separate cost for learners. Institutional buyers get implementation and LMS support, but gradebook sync is not offered.

Platforms

Eli Review is available on the web. LMS roster syncing and integration support can help coordinate courses, but the platform does not offer gradebook sync.

Who it's for

Eli is for educators in higher education and K12 who want structured peer feedback, revision activities, and a view of learner participation across disciplines. It is less compelling when a course needs only a simple, occasional exchange or when paid student access is a barrier.

Pros and cons

Pro: Feedback prompts, helpfulness ratings, rubric scoring, and double-blind review support deliberate peer assessment.
Pro: Revision plans and draft comparisons connect peer comments to visible revision work.
Pro: Roster syncing, automatic groups, reminders, and reusable sequences address recurring course coordination.
Pro: Unlimited courses and all platform features are included in free instructor access.
Con: Students must pay 28.95 USD per once for four months or 52.95 USD per year; instructor access being free does not remove that cost.
Con: Gradebook sync is not offered, which limits the handoff to grading workflows.

Alternatives

For a broader peer assessment software comparison, consider these options. CrowdGrader is worth considering for assignment-based use with a free instructor-sponsored plan capped at 20 students, or a student-supported assignment plan. Kritik360 is an option for educators who want a free professor account with course activation, instructional design, and ongoing support. PeerEvals is a free web alternative with no paid tier required for its core job. TEAMMATES is another free web option, though its service may change or be terminated at its discretion. Expertiza may suit readers seeking a free, open-source platform, with Linux, macOS, self-hosted, and web options. ComPAIR is a free alternative available on the web or self-hosted. peerScholar has a WCET promotional plan at 4500.00 USD per year for unlimited courses, faculty, team members, students, and activities.

Verdict

Choose Eli Review if you teach peer feedback as a repeatable process and want revision workflows and participation analytics alongside course coordination. Free instructor access and unlimited courses are meaningful advantages, but paid student access is the central drawback. Look elsewhere if students need free access or if gradebook sync is essential.
