Overview

MockupFit is an apparel design and mockup service for independent designers, online sellers, teams, brands, and gift makers. It brings prompt-based artwork, garment placement, AI try-on previews, and Printful exports into one web and API workflow, but AI use depends on credits.

Key features

Text prompts generate clothing designs, which users can position on garment previews by dragging, resizing, and rotating them. A browsable history of generated designs makes it easier to reuse concepts across garments. Together, these tools suit apparel concept iteration; raster output, rather than vector artwork, makes MockupFit a weaker fit when a workflow depends on scalable vector files.

AI try-on previews and downloadable mockups help visualize designs, while transparent PNG exports use Printful print dimensions, including 4500×5400px. The free plan includes Printful export, so users can prepare files without paying for AI credits. Uploaded images can be PNG, JPG, or WebP up to 10MB; generated videos are MP4.

Users retain ownership of uploaded artwork and own output images generated with it, including for commercial use. The service says account and generated content remain while an account is active, while uploaded images used for generation may be deleted after processing. Its privacy policy describes encryption in transit and at rest, plus Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes unlimited garment designs, live previews, mockup downloads, and Printful export, but no AI credits. It is a useful starting point for people who already have artwork and need garment previews or print files; it does not cover prompt-based generation or AI previews.

For occasional AI work, one-time packs keep credits from expiring: 200 credits cost 15.00 USD per once, 800 cost 49.00 USD per once, 2,000 cost 99.00 USD per once, and 5,000 cost 199.00 USD per once. These suit uneven workloads better than a recurring plan, though the pack sizes require an upfront purchase.

Pro costs 29.00 USD per month and includes 600 credits/month, standard and HD quality, preset models, photo uploads, and email support. It fits solo creators who want a recurring allowance and more control over previews. Business costs 79.00 USD per month for 2,000 credits/month, all quality tiers, HD and Ultra HD video, a priority generation queue, and priority support; it is better suited to higher-volume teams. Enterprise costs 199.00 USD per month for 6,000 credits/month, Ultra HD, API access, bulk export, and dedicated support, making it the clearest fit for larger or automated production workflows.

Subscription credits refresh each billing cycle and do not roll over, so variable workloads may lose unused allowance; one-time pack credits never expire. The paid subscription options start at 29.00 USD per month.

Platforms

MockupFit is available on the web and through an API. The web editor serves direct design and preview work; API access is included with Enterprise for teams building it into a production workflow.

Who it's for

Choose MockupFit if you need to place apparel designs on garments, generate AI concepts, or create Printful-sized exports in one service. It is less suitable if you need vector deliverables, or if AI generation must be included in a free plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free tier includes unlimited garment designs and Printful exports, giving existing-artwork workflows a no-cost route to mockups and print files.
Pros: Design history, adjustable garment placement, and try-on previews support reuse and visualization across concepts.
Pros: Commercial ownership terms and non-expiring one-time credits suit creators with irregular project schedules.
Cons: The free plan has no AI credits, so prompt-based generation requires a purchase.
Cons: Raster-only design output does not serve vector-dependent production workflows.
Cons: Monthly subscription credits expire at the cycle boundary, which can waste allowance when demand varies.

Alternatives

T-Shirt Design Software is the broader category to compare if you want to weigh other apparel design tools.

Pick Kittl instead if a web-based design tool with a free plan of five projects and 100 one-time AI tokens better matches a project-limited start. Screenhance Apparel Mockup Generator may suit users focused on screen recordings and a limited monthly export allowance, with its free plan offering three exports per month at 1x resolution. Choose w3D if you want an iOS option with a free download and in-app purchases. YouWear.ai is another web option, with five free credits per new account and physical products costing extra.

Vexels T-Shirt Creator may be worth comparing if its Merch Expert plan's monthly stock downloads, AI credits, and design tools fit your needs. Mock It offers a web-based Standard monthly plan with a seven-day free trial and mockup creation and downloads. inkXE is an alternative if you want a paid product with an API and multiple platform options. ClozDesign is another web-based option with a free plan.

Verdict

MockupFit is a strong choice for apparel designers and sellers who want AI concepts, garment mockups, and Printful-ready exports together, especially if non-expiring credit packs suit their workload. Look elsewhere if vector output is essential, or if monthly credits that expire do not fit your production rhythm.
