Overview

Craftable is a hospitality back-office platform for restaurants, hotels and related operators. It is best suited to businesses that need purchasing, invoice processing, inventory and cost reporting connected across departments or locations. Its operational breadth is compelling, but custom pricing means buyers must request a demo before they can assess the cost.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Dallas, Craftable says it supports more than 80,000 hospitality professionals and manages over 4 million invoices a year. Its dashboard brings food cost, labor and purchasing data together to surface trends and variances, giving managers a broader view than a stand-alone ordering or stock tool.

Key features

Ordering and accounts payable

Intelligent Ordering supports multi-vendor carts, purchase orders, EDI, Punchout and enhanced catalogs. That range suits operators coordinating purchasing across suppliers and locations. AP Automation captures invoices, uses AI to extract line items, performs three-way matching and suggests GL codes. Connecting these steps can reduce duplicate handling, though the value depends on how well the workflow fits a business’s existing purchasing and accounting processes.

Inventory and recipe costs

Live stock visibility, barcode scanning and transfer tracking help teams follow inventory across departments and locations. Recipe costing uses current vendor pricing to calculate plate costs and compares theoretical with actual COGS. That link between recipes, counts and purchasing is useful for operators trying to identify cost variances; businesses seeking only basic stock counts may not need the broader platform.

Integrations and AI

Craftable lists more than 60 POS integrations, over 1,000 vendor connections and more than 35 ERP and accounting integrations. Named connections include Toast, Square, QuickBooks, Sage, Acumatica, Sysco, US Foods and Gordon Food Service. This breadth may help multi-system operations consolidate workflows, but buyers should confirm their specific systems are supported.

Crafti can investigate POS, labor, invoice and inventory data, and draft recipes and purchase orders for user approval. It is read-only by default, isolates data by tenant, logs actions and does not use customer data to train a model. Those controls make the assistant more bounded than an autonomous workflow, while approval remains with staff.

Security and support

Craftable says it completed a SOC 2 Type II audit and operates a Trust Center. Its stated controls include AWS, TLS 1.2+, SSO and AES256-encrypted backups with up to 35 days of point-in-time recovery. Customer Care provides Dallas-based in-house support, phone coverage Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm CST, in-app chat and a support center. The weekday phone schedule may not suit operators who need phone support outside those hours.

Pricing

Craftable uses custom pricing; prospective customers are directed to book a demo. With no stated subscription rate or plan breakdown, buyers cannot compare tiers or estimate costs before contacting the company. That makes it harder for smaller operators to judge affordability upfront, while larger teams may prefer a quote tailored to their operation.

Platforms

Craftable is available on the web and offers full and inventory apps for iOS and Android. Mobile access gives teams a way to work with inventory beyond a desktop, while the separate inventory app may suit staff whose needs are narrower than the full platform.

Who it's for

Craftable targets full-service and limited-service restaurants, bars, hotels, resorts and food-and-entertainment concepts. It is a stronger fit for operators that need purchasing, stock, recipes, invoices and reporting to work together, particularly across multiple departments or locations. A business looking for one narrow expense or inventory function may find the platform broader than it needs.

Pros and cons

Pros: Ordering, invoice automation, inventory and recipe costing connect operational and financial workflows in one platform.
Pros: Broad POS, vendor, ERP and accounting connections give operators options for linking existing systems.
Pros: Mobile apps, barcode scanning and transfer tracking support inventory work across locations.
Cons: Custom pricing requires a demo, so buyers cannot compare a published subscription rate or plan tiers upfront.
Cons: Phone support is limited to weekdays from 7am to 7pm CST, which leaves evenings and weekends outside the stated coverage.

Alternatives

For expense management rather than a hospitality-wide back-office system, Expensify has a free Submit plan with receipt scanning, mileage tracking and expense reports, plus Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows support. Happay offers a free Epic plan and a corporate spend management option with pricing that varies by requirements, making it a consideration for corporate spend workflows. Zoho Expense is another freemium expense option with a free plan and a free trial.

Sincrio has free Basic and Pro plans with monthly scan limits and web access, which may suit teams comparing scan-based invoice tools. Factura.ai offers pricing by request and a low monthly fee per location, so it may be worth considering for buyers focused on invoice processing by location. NxtEdge uses custom subscription pricing that varies by modules, locations and operational requirements.

xtraCHEF has a Starter plan with AP automation, email and EDI, advanced reporting and some opt-in inventory and recipe features; it may suit operators prioritizing those workflows. Ottimate offers complimentary ACH options with transaction limits and differing delivery times, a narrower alternative for businesses focused on ACH payments.

Verdict

Craftable is a strong choice for hospitality operators that want purchasing, invoice automation, inventory, recipe costing and reporting joined across their operation. Its integrations and mobile inventory tools reinforce that fit. Look elsewhere if you need a narrow, low-commitment tool or need to compare subscription prices before booking a demo.
