Overview

Contractbook is a cloud-based contract lifecycle platform for organizations that want contract work to continue beyond drafting and signature. It is best suited to companies with 11–1,000 employees managing contracts across teams. Its strength is the connected workflow; its main trade-off is that annual plan quotas and user limits need to match the organization’s volume.

Teams can pre-fill drafts from a CRM, forms, or other tools, then review them through approvals, comments, suggestions, and version history. After signing, contracts can be centralized, searched, managed with permissions, and used to trigger deadline reminders and follow-up tasks. External recipients can sign without opening a Contractbook account, which removes one hurdle from the signing process.

Key features

Drafting and review: Pre-approved templates and pre-filled drafts help teams reuse established contract content. Approval workflows, comments, suggestions, and version history support collaborative review rather than a simple handoff for signature.
Signatures: Legally binding e-signatures include signing order, identity verification, and two-factor signing. That is useful when signing sequence and identity checks matter, though recipients still need a workable email or phone verification route.
Repository and follow-up: Existing contracts can be bulk imported, scanned, data-extracted, organized, searched, and controlled with permissions. Contract data can drive renewal and deadline reminders and customizable post-signature tasks, making the repository useful for ongoing obligations as well as storage.
Connections and security: Contractbook advertises more than 3,000 integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Google Calendar, Slack, Zapier, and Make.com, alongside API access. The company states that it is SOC 2 and GDPR compliant, has completed Google Partner Security Program assessments, and uses encryption, verified accounts, two-factor signatures, and regular black-box penetration testing.

Pricing

Contractbook has a free plan and a 14-day trial. The trial costs 0.00 USD per free, requires no credit card, and includes all features; afterward, access moves to a limited Free plan. That makes it a low-friction way to assess the workflow, but not a substitute for checking paid-plan capacity.

Essential: Custom pricing, with 1 user, 100 signed contracts per year, and 5 templates. Its low seat and template caps suit a very small operation, but the annual signing allowance can constrain regular contract activity.
Centralize: 399.00 USD per month, billed annually, for 5 users, 15 templates, and 350 signed contracts per year. It adds AI data extraction, CSV export, and .docx download. This is the more substantial fixed-capacity option, though teams must be comfortable with an annual commitment and a defined signing quota.
Accelerate: Custom pricing, with 10 users, 25 templates, and 500 signed contracts per year. It raises the collaboration and volume ceilings over Centralize, but still sets an annual signing cap.
Custom: Custom pricing for a tailored setup, initial consultancy, and 1:1 Customer Success Manager support. This is the option for organizations that need implementation help rather than a standard package.
Growth: 599.00 USD per month, billed annually, with unlimited users and contracts, conditional templates, automations, SSO, and a dedicated success manager. Its uncapped contract volume and added controls best fit larger or higher-throughput teams, but the annual price is a significant commitment.

All plans include live chat, email, and phone support; some include a dedicated success manager. The clearest choice depends on whether seat, template, and signed-contract limits fit the team’s actual workload.

Platforms

Contractbook is available on web and through an API, with cloud deployment. Its browser-based review workflow keeps contract work in the web service; it is not presented as a desktop or mobile app.

Who it's for

Contractbook fits teams that need a shared process for drafting, review, execution, repository management, and renewal follow-up, particularly within the company size it targets. It is less compelling for a small team needing only occasional signatures, or for any buyer whose required volume exceeds a plan’s annual cap without wanting Growth’s annual commitment.

Pros and cons

Pros

Contracts stay actionable after signature: Searchable records, renewal reminders, and customizable tasks support follow-through rather than leaving signed files dormant.
External signing has fewer hurdles: Recipients do not need a Contractbook account, while signing order and identity checks provide more control than an unrestricted signature link.
Broad workflow connectivity: The advertised integration catalog and API access can connect contract activity to common business tools.
Support spans every plan: Live chat, email, and phone support are included, with dedicated success management on some tiers.

Cons

Several plans have hard ceilings: Essential, Centralize, and Accelerate cap users, templates, or annual signed contracts, so growth can force a plan change.
Paid pricing is not uniformly transparent: Essential, Accelerate, and Custom use custom pricing, making the full cost harder to compare in advance.
Annual billing shapes the decision: Centralize and Growth prices are billed annually, so they suit buyers ready to commit rather than those seeking a short paid trial.

Alternatives

Choose DocuSign eSignature when the priority is an e-signature-focused service: it has a free plan and a trial for sending, signing, and managing agreements, while Contractbook covers a wider contract lifecycle. Consider OpenCLM if self-hosting matters; its free plan offers one user, unlimited contracts, and five e-signatures per month, unlike Contractbook’s cloud deployment.

JAGGAER Contracts is another paid contract option to compare. Onit Contract Lifecycle Management may suit buyers seeking a custom CLM solution. Oracle Procurement Contracts is worth considering when its procurement-oriented package—405.00 USD per month per user, including Supplier Management and Transactional Business Intelligence for Procurement—fits the need. Pramata is an enterprise contract intelligence platform with demo-based purchasing. Coupa Accounts Payable is an alternative in the accounts-payable category. Docusign CLM is another paid CLM option with sales-contact pricing.

Verdict

Choose Contractbook if your organization needs contracts managed from draft through renewal, with shared review, signatures, searchable records, and connected follow-up. Its strongest case is the breadth of that lifecycle in one cloud platform; look elsewhere if you need only basic signing, self-hosting, or a plan without annual contract-volume limits at a lower commitment.
