Overview

Conjointly combines survey creation, established research methods and options for finding respondents. The methods include conjoint analysis, Van Westendorp, Gabor-Granger, monadic testing, MaxDiff and Kano, giving research teams tools for structured questions about products, prices and preferences rather than just general questionnaires.

Its Survey Tool allows unlimited surveys and questions, with survey logic, randomisation, multilingual support, reporting dashboards and Excel and PowerPoint exports. Teams can bring their own respondents, use self-serve samples or request predefined panels managed by Conjointly’s fieldwork team. This flexibility supports different research workflows, although sample sourcing and analysis still need to be budgeted as part of a study.

Key features

Research methods and analytics

The specialist methods are Conjointly’s strongest distinction from a standard survey tool. Advanced segmentation and reporting support analysis beyond collecting responses, but Basic users can analyse only up to 20 responses with advanced methods; additional responses require a licence for full analysis. That cap makes Basic useful for limited exploration, not a substitute for a full advanced-method study.

Respondents, integrations and API

Users can choose their own respondents, self-serve samples or predefined panels handled by Conjointly’s fieldwork team. The platform documents survey redirects and integrations with Fuel Cycle, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics and Alchemer. Its API uses JSON requests and responses to launch experiments, invite respondents, and view or export results, which gives teams a route to automate those research operations.

Support, security and data use

Basic includes limited online live support chat. Professional adds up to two hours of consultations per year, while Ultimate includes additional research support, procurement onboarding and tailored team training. Conjointly says it is certified for SOC 2 Type 1 and 2, ISO 20252:2019 (Annex A), ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 27701:2019, and says it does not train generative AI models using customer or respondent data.

Pricing

Conjointly uses a freemium model, with a free plan, a free trial and an academic or student no-cost option available through an application form. Its plans target different levels of research work, but the cost and terms matter: Professional is billed annually per team, and Ultimate starts at a substantially higher annual price.

Plan	Price	What it includes	Best fit
Basic	Custom pricing	Unlimited surveys and questions; up to 20 responses for advanced-method analytics	Teams exploring the platform or running studies with limited advanced analysis
Professional	2895.00 USD per year	All Basic features, advanced methods and up to two hours of consultations per year; billed per team per year with annual recurring payment by credit card	Teams that need advanced methods beyond the Basic response cap and some expert consultation
Ultimate	10000.00 USD per year	All Professional features, additional research support, procurement onboarding and tailored team trainings; starts at $10,000 per year	Organisations seeking more research support and onboarding or training for teams

The Basic plan’s unlimited surveys and questions do not remove its analytics limit: teams needing full advanced-method analysis on more than 20 responses need a licence. Professional makes that capability explicit, while Ultimate is aimed at organisations that also need added support and procurement onboarding. The annual team billing on Professional is an important commitment for smaller or occasional research users.

Platforms

Conjointly is available on the web and through an API. The API supports launching experiments, inviting respondents, and viewing or exporting results.

Who it's for

Conjointly is aimed at organisations ranging from early-stage start-ups to large enterprises, and supports both B2C and B2B research. It is particularly suited to teams conducting conjoint, pricing, segmentation or preference work, especially when they value respondent sourcing or consultation alongside survey software. A team that only needs occasional basic questionnaires is unlikely to make full use of its specialist methods or annual plans.

Pros and cons

Pros: A varied set of specialist methods, including conjoint analysis, MaxDiff and Kano, suits structured product and pricing research.
Pros: Unlimited surveys and questions, multilingual support, logic and randomisation give teams room to build complex questionnaires.
Pros: Respondent sourcing choices and an API support different ways of running and automating research.
Pros: Professional and Ultimate add consultation or research support for teams that want more than software alone.
Cons: Basic limits advanced-method analytics to 20 responses, so a larger study needs a licence for full analysis.
Cons: Professional requires an annual recurring payment per team, which may not suit occasional projects.
Cons: Ultimate starts at $10,000 per year, positioning its additional support and onboarding for organisations with larger requirements.

Alternatives

For a smaller, narrowly scoped conjoint pilot, Conjoint Survey offers a free tier with one researcher account, one pilot survey and up to 20 completed responses, though it excludes full exports, coauthor viewing, redirects and an archive bundle. DataLion is worth considering for teams looking for a free research option with one user, one project and 100 cases, plus survey tools, an AI builder, templates and data import. GlobalWebIndex may suit readers primarily interested in Agent Spark prompts and chart saving or exports, with a free allowance of 10 prompts monthly and a Plus plan at 150.00 USD per month for unlimited prompts.

LimeSurvey is an alternative for readers comparing survey software with a free plan capped at 25 responses per month and one admin user, or a monthly Basic option at 39.00 USD. Qualitati is another option for readers comparing freemium research tools, with a free tier of 30 monthly credits and paid tiers beginning at 9.00 EUR per month. Qualtrics may fit an individual seeking a free survey plan with one user, three active surveys and 500 total responses. SoSci Survey is an alternative for research users comparing a free plan with 5,000 respondents or an unlimited-testing option. SurveyLab may suit readers wanting a free 50-response allowance or a monthly Starter plan with 1,000 responses.

Verdict

Choose Conjointly if your team runs structured B2C or B2B research and wants specialist methods, respondent options and expert support in one platform. Its main advantage is the breadth from survey design through advanced analysis and sourcing; its main drawback is the Basic response cap and the annual cost of access to full advanced-method work. For occasional surveys or a small pilot, a more limited free alternative may be the more proportionate choice.
