Overview

Hunter brings together professional email lookup, B2B lead discovery, verification, and cold-email outreach. That combination can reduce the need to move between separate tools as a team identifies companies, finds contacts, checks addresses, and starts outreach. Buyers who need only one of those jobs may prefer a specialist service.

Hunter says its database draws on public web sources, and Domain Search results include where and when contact data was found. People can claim an email address to edit associated fields or request removal of the address and related data. Its Chrome extension can surface email addresses, names, and social profiles associated with a website.

Key features

Finding and checking contacts

Domain Search and Email Finder locate professional email addresses, while Email Verifier checks them. Hunter Discover adds a B2B lead database with market-segmentation filters for finding companies and leads. This makes the service more versatile than an address finder alone, though the Free plan’s 50 monthly credits limit how much prospecting a user can do without upgrading.

Outreach and integrations

Sequences automates cold emails and supports open tracking, giving teams a way to follow discovery with outreach in the same service. Hunter lists integrations with Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Outlook, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, Clay, and Snowflake. API access and web and browser-extension options also give teams more than one way to work with the service.

Security and support

Hunter says its services run on Google Cloud Platform in Belgium and that customer data stored there is encrypted at all times. It describes risk-based security assessments, access controls, vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and an ongoing bug bounty program. Free users receive regular support; paid tiers receive priority support, while Scale and Enterprise include an account manager.

Pricing

Hunter uses a freemium model, with a free plan and no free trial. The Free plan costs 0.00 EUR per free, billed monthly, and includes 50 monthly credits, basic Discover filters, one connected email account, and 500 recipients per sequence. CSV exports are limited to 10 emails per domain. That is enough to try the workflow, but the credit and export ceilings constrain sustained list building.

Plan	Price and term	What it includes
Free	0.00 EUR per free, billed monthly	50 monthly credits, basic Discover filters, one connected email account, and 500 recipients per sequence
Starter	Custom pricing	2,000 monthly credits, auto-verification, lead enrichment, and three connected email accounts
Growth	Custom pricing	10,000 monthly credits, auto-verification, lead enrichment, and ten connected email accounts
Scale	Custom pricing	25,000 monthly credits, auto-verification, lead enrichment, twenty connected email accounts, and an account manager
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Custom credit volume, custom connected email accounts, and an account manager

Starter, Growth, and Scale raise the monthly credit allowance and add auto-verification and lead enrichment; their connected-account limits range from three to twenty. Those tiers are better suited to teams with recurring prospecting needs, while Enterprise fits buyers who need custom volumes and account management. All paid tiers receive priority support.

Hunter also sells Data Platform bulk credits for 6500.00 USD per once: 1,000 Search credits and 200,000 Verification credits, usable for up to 12 months from purchase. This is a substantial one-time purchase rather than a monthly allowance, so it fits buyers with a defined bulk-search and verification requirement better than those seeking a low-cost entry point.

Platforms

Hunter is available on the web, through an extension, and via API. The extension is useful for finding contact details and social profiles associated with a website, while API access supports teams that want to connect Hunter with their own workflows.

Who it's for

Hunter is a strong fit for sales, marketing, and recruiting teams that combine email discovery with B2B lead search and cold outreach. Its connected-account allowances and integration options accommodate team workflows, while the Free plan offers a limited way to assess the service. It is less suitable for regular prospecting on a tight budget if 50 monthly credits and 10-email-per-domain CSV exports are not enough.

Pros and cons

Pros: Domain Search, Email Finder, Email Verifier, Discover, and Sequences cover multiple stages of email prospecting in one service.
Pros: Domain Search results include where and when contact data was found, and people can request edits or removal of their data.
Pros: API, extension, and integrations with CRM, productivity, and automation services provide several ways to connect Hunter to team workflows.
Cons: The Free plan’s 50 monthly credits and 10-email-per-domain CSV export cap make routine list building difficult.
Cons: Starter, Growth, Scale, and Enterprise use custom pricing, making direct budget comparisons harder.
Cons: The Data Platform bulk-credit option costs 6500.00 USD per once, a high-commitment purchase for buyers who need only occasional lookups.

Alternatives

Compare Email Finder Software if address discovery is your main requirement, or Email Outreach Software if sending campaigns matters more than finding contacts. Email Scheduling Software is a category to consider when scheduling is the priority, while B2B Contact Data Providers is relevant when evaluating contact-data services more broadly.

Datagma is another freemium option with web, API, and extension access. SalesQL offers a free tier with 50 credits per month, one seat, and 100 campaign recipients per month. Skrapp.io has a free tier with 50 credits, one user, and limited lead search; its Professional plan is 29.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 2,000 credits per month and two users. Tomba offers 25 free searches and 50 verifications per month. Wiza has a free tier with 20 valid emails and five phone numbers, and an Email plan at 83.00 USD per month, billed at $990 per year, with 2,500 exports per month. Kaspr offers a free tier on API and extension platforms. ContactOut and GetEmail.io are alternatives for buyers considering API-based options.

Verdict

Choose Hunter if your team wants to move from professional email discovery and B2B lead search to verification and cold outreach within one service, with API and integration options for its workflows. Look elsewhere if you need a larger free prospecting allowance or want clearly priced paid tiers before committing to a plan.
