Overview

Cohorta combines structured courses with scheduled programs, individual mentoring, downloads and community. Courses can mix modules, video and written lessons, quizzes, assignments, learner notes, comments and progress tracking. That range suits providers who want learning, feedback and follow-through in one branded destination; it is more than a seller needs for a single standalone file.

Cohort programs support schedules, live sessions, assignments and mentors. For individual guidance, 1:1 mentoring adds slot booking, a calendar and automated reminders. Together, these workflows suit programs that depend on a timetable or direct support rather than self-paced content alone.

Key features

Products, community and payments

Ebooks and downloads can be delivered as PDF, EPUB, audio, video or ZIP bundles. Optional buyer-name watermarking and per-user download limits give sellers practical controls over paid files. Community spaces include topical areas, a post feed, comments, reactions, read/unread tracking and real-time direct messages, keeping discussion close to the learning program. Stripe checkout supports European payment methods, and certificates include public verification.

Integrations and security

Starter includes Fakturownia.pl integration and per-product GA4 and GTM; Scale adds API and webhooks. Cohorta says it uses TLS encryption in transit, database Row-Level Security, authenticated server actions with restricted access, and content sanitization. Its named processors include Supabase, Vercel, Stripe and Resend, and analytics cookies load only after consent.

Pricing

The plans pair monthly fees with sales commissions, so the headline price is only part of the cost. The Free plan is 0.00 PLN per free (billed 0 zł), but charges 10% commission on sales and caps accounts at one product, 50 learners and 500 email messages per month. It suits a small pilot, not a growing catalog or audience.

Starter costs 299.00 PLN per month (billed 299 zł /mc), with a 5% sales commission, unlimited products, up to 1,000 learners and four landing page templates. It removes the one-product ceiling, while the learner cap and commission still matter for established programs. Growth costs 649.00 PLN per month (billed 649 zł /mc); its 3% commission, unlimited learners, 10 templates and priority email support better fit a larger operation where audience growth or support response matters.

Scale costs 1299.00 PLN per month (billed 1299 zł /mc) and reduces sales commission to 0%. It includes 20 landing page templates, a custom domain, API and webhooks, SLA and priority chat support. It is the clearest fit for organizations needing integrations, a branded domain and higher-touch support, especially where sales commissions would outweigh the higher monthly fee.

Enterprise costs 2999.00 PLN per month (billed Od 2999 zł/mc (od €690/mc)). It has a custom agreement and 0% commission, with multiple trainers, advanced roles and permissions, SLA, dedicated onboarding, custom integrations, BAA, SSO and an audit log. Those controls target larger or more complex organizations; smaller providers can likely avoid paying for them. No trial term is given for these plans.

Platforms

Cohorta is available on web and through an API. These options suit providers building a browser-based branded experience or connecting their own systems; no mobile app platform is included.

Who it's for

The strongest fit is experts and consultants, training companies, community and networking groups, and associations, foundations and member groups. Cohorta is particularly relevant when an organization needs courses alongside mentoring, scheduled cohorts or member interaction. A provider with only a simple download to sell may find the broader program toolkit unnecessary.

Pros and cons

Pros: Courses, cohort scheduling, mentoring, community and digital products cover several related parts of a learning business in one branded platform.
Pros: Download formats, optional watermarking and per-user limits support varied digital products and controlled delivery.
Pros: Unlimited learners on Growth and zero sales commission on Scale and Enterprise provide clear upgrade paths as audience and sales needs change.
Cons: Free caps the account at one product and 50 learners, with a 10% sales commission, limiting its usefulness beyond a small test.
Cons: Starter and Growth retain sales commissions, so transaction costs continue even after moving beyond Free.
Cons: Priority chat, custom domain, API and webhooks appear at Scale, a substantial monthly step up from Growth for providers that need those capabilities.

Alternatives

For more options in this category, see Cohort-Based Course Platforms. Consider UjuziPlus if Android and iOS apps, self-hosting or marketplace selling are priorities; its free Creator plan includes a course builder with quizzes and basic learner reporting. Nialtus is an alternative with web and API access and a free tier limited to 10 active learners, five courses, 1 GB storage, one language and one admin.

Sublime LMS may suit a small sandbox trial: its free plan allows 50 active learners, two published courses, one admin or instructor and 100 emails per month, with limited video and storage; it also offers a free trial. Learnify is an alternative for providers who specifically need Android and iOS platforms. NovoEd is worth considering for a custom-solution approach, with demo requests for its paid platform.

Pathwright offers a free trial and a Starter plan at 99.00 USD per month (or 89.00 USD per month when billed annually), for up to 1,000 members, one administrator and one cohort per course; it may fit a provider looking for those stated member and cohort limits at a lower starting fee. Academy Launcher offers a free trial but no free plan. Cahoot Learning Portal is another web-based alternative.

Verdict

Choose Cohorta if you are an expert, training provider or member organization that wants courses, cohort delivery, mentoring and community under your brand. Its range of learning and engagement tools is the main reason to choose it; look elsewhere if you need a mobile app, a low-commission entry tier, or only a simple download storefront.
