Overview

Market Dojo is procurement software for running sourcing events and engaging suppliers, with separate capabilities for onboarding and contract management. It is a strong fit for procurement teams that need configurable RFx and auction workflows; smaller buyers should treat the free plan as a test environment, not a route to live sourcing.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, Market Dojo became part of Esker in 2022. The product is offered on demand and for enterprise use.

Key features

Sourcing and auctions

Teams can run RFIs, RFPs and RFQs, attach documents, build advanced pricing tables and use weighted events. Auction formats include open, ranked, Japanese, forward and reverse, with automated features. That breadth is useful when procurement needs to shape events around different categories and compare bids, but the paid tiers are more relevant than the free option for real supplier participation.

Questionnaires and supplier onboarding

Supplier questionnaires support weighted questions, different question types, tables and document uploads, with generative AI and either automatic or manual scoring. The dedicated Supplier Onboarding Simple plan includes dynamic questionnaires, custom fields and scoring, but its 500-supplier allowance means organisations with larger supplier populations need to budget for extra capacity.

Integrations, API and security

Market Dojo names multi-ERP, Focal Point, Esker, Veridion, Power BI, Microsoft Entra ID, Google SSO, Okta, Spend HQ–PMM and SAML integrations. Its RESTful API is available to all users and includes live documentation, a useful point of entry for teams assessing integration needs before committing to a higher sourcing tier. Market Dojo states that it is ISO 27001 certified and hosts the software on Google Cloud Platform.

Support is offered by live chat and email. The support page aims to respond to email within three hours and resolve queries within eight; live chat is available on weekdays, typically 08:45–17:00 in GMT and CT zones.

Pricing

Market Dojo uses freemium pricing, but costs for ongoing use depend on users, suppliers or contracts. Monthly costs may be discounted according to user count and licence duration, and quotes for more than five users require contacting the company. The Sourcing Starter plan is free for creating test events and trying the tool as buyer and supplier, but it is restricted to test suppliers.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Simple Sourcing — annual licence	500.00 GBP per year	Simple RFx and eAuctions, templates and libraries, Excel integration and custom fields, user management and live messaging.
Pro Sourcing — annual licence	583.00 GBP per year	Collaborative multi scoring and supplier participation, weighted events, API integration and a dedicated account manager.
Advanced Sourcing — annual licence	667.00 GBP per year	Advanced multi-stage RFx and eAuctions, advanced lots and partial bidding, and multi-currency events. Advanced analytics and automation require add-ons.
Supplier Onboarding Simple	833.33 GBP per year	500 suppliers, unlimited internal users, dynamic questionnaires, custom fields and scoring. Each additional 500 suppliers costs £1500 annual.
Simple Sourcing — monthly licence	1000.00 GBP per month	Simple RFx and eAuctions, templates and libraries, Excel integration and custom fields, user management and live messaging.
Simple Sourcing — single event	1000.00 GBP per once	The Simple Sourcing feature set for one event.
Pro Sourcing — monthly licence	1500.00 GBP per month	Collaborative multi scoring and supplier participation, weighted events, API integration and a dedicated account manager.
Pro Sourcing — single event	1500.00 GBP per once	The Pro Sourcing feature set for one event.
Advanced Sourcing — monthly licence	2000.00 GBP per month	Advanced multi-stage RFx and eAuctions, advanced lots and partial bidding, and multi-currency events; advanced analytics and automation require add-ons.
Advanced Sourcing — single event	2000.00 GBP per once	The Advanced Sourcing feature set for one event, with analytics and automation requiring add-ons.

Simple is the lower-cost choice for teams that need core RFx and auctions, while Pro adds collaborative scoring, weighted events and API integration. Advanced is aimed at buyers who need multi-stage events, partial bidding or multiple currencies; analytics and automation are not included in its base price. Monthly licences and single-event purchases cost more than the corresponding annual licence, so they suit shorter commitments or one-off activity rather than ongoing use.

Platforms

Market Dojo is available on the web and through its API. The API is not restricted to a paid sourcing tier, which makes it possible for teams to explore integration separately from their licence choice.

Who it's for

Market Dojo suits procurement teams that need configurable sourcing events, auction options and structured supplier engagement, especially when they also want a distinct supplier-onboarding workflow. It is less suited to buyers seeking a free live-sourcing service, since the free plan is limited to test suppliers, or to teams that want advanced analytics and automation included without add-ons.

Pros and cons

Pro: RFx, multiple auction formats, weighted events and structured questionnaires cover a broad set of sourcing and supplier-response workflows.
Pro: The RESTful API is available to all users, giving teams an integration path before moving to Pro Sourcing.
Pro: Supplier Onboarding Simple permits unlimited internal users, which avoids an internal-seat cap on that plan.
Con: The free plan is for test events with test suppliers, so it does not provide a free live-sourcing tier.
Con: Supplier Onboarding Simple is capped at 500 suppliers, with another 500 costing £1500 annual.
Con: Advanced analytics and automation require add-ons even on Advanced Sourcing.

Alternatives

Choose oboloo instead if contract work is the priority: its freemium offer includes a free plan, and Contract Plus is 10.00 USD per month with linked contract documentation, notifications, approvals and custom fields and tabs.

Qeluntra is another freemium option for web users, with a free plan capped at one entity and one power user; its Starter and Business plans allow three and eight power users respectively.

Epicor Kinetic is worth considering when a buyer wants a platform spanning Android, iOS, Windows, web, API and self-hosted deployment, with platform core, cloud package and concurrent-user licence choices.

JAGGAER Contracts is an alternative for teams focused on contract management.

SAFAL Strategic Sourcing is another paid, web-based sourcing option.

SPS Analytics is a paid, web-based supplier-focused decision intelligence platform.

Proactis Accounts Payable Automation is a paid, web-based alternative for accounts payable automation.

8Manage Supplier Management is a paid, web-based supplier-management alternative.

Verdict

Market Dojo is a strong choice for procurement teams that need flexible sourcing events and supplier engagement in one product, with an API open to every user. The main reason to look elsewhere is cost or scope: free access is only for testing, and advanced analytics and automation add to the price.
