Overview

CloudMoyo Crew Management is a cloud-based system for freight railroads coordinating crew schedules, assignments, qualifications, and related work. It is best suited to Class I, regional, and short line operators that want rail-specific processes connected in one platform. Its operational breadth is compelling, but buyers must be prepared for custom pricing and a demo-led sales process.

Key features

Scheduling takes Hours of Service requirements, FRA regulations, and late train changes into account. Crew boards bring together qualifications, certifications, duty-hour compliance, penalties, leave, vacations, and bidding. That combination helps dispatch teams consider both operational coverage and workforce constraints; it is a more natural fit for railroads with these specialized workflows than for organizations seeking general-purpose workforce scheduling.

Assignment and confirmation, leave and exception management, and an IVR- and SMS-based portal connect schedules to crew communications. The myCall mobile app supports assignment confirmation through SMS and IVR, duty-hour check-ins and check-outs, attendance and leave management, status reporting, and notifications. These options suit crews who need to respond away from a desktop, while the multiple channels support different communication preferences.

The broader toolset includes yard jobs, claims management, labor relations, and payroll assistance. Payroll functions cover timekeeping calculations, pay rates, time-to-gross calculations, arbitraries, and cost-of-living adjustments, which can reduce the separation between crew operations and payroll work. A self-service travel portal lets crews check approved taxi and hotel vendors and availability, then submit invoices.

Dashboards track crew inventory, boards, utilization, layoffs, and deadheads. Crew analytics can connect with SAP, ERP, and HRMS systems, while configurable roles, role-based dashboards, and reporting provide differentiated access. Labor representatives and compliance officers can access preconfigured reports on Hours of Service compliance and crew boards. CloudMoyo describes the Unified Crew and Safety suite as API-first, with integrations and rapid deployment on a single platform; the company also received ISO 27001:2013 certification in 2019.

Pricing

CloudMoyo Crew Management has paid, custom pricing. The product page invites railroads to request a demo, but there is no published subscription term or trial offer to compare. Buyers should contact CloudMoyo for a quote and evaluate the implementation against their railroad's operational and integration needs.

Platforms

The product supports Android, iOS, web, and API access. The myCall mobile app extends assignment, timekeeping, attendance, and status workflows to crews on mobile devices.

Who it's for

CloudMoyo positions its rail transportation management suite for Class I, regional, and short line railroads. It is particularly relevant to operators that need crew scheduling tied to regulatory and labor constraints, mobile assignment handling, travel and payroll assistance, and operational analytics. Organizations outside railroad operations, or buyers seeking a self-serve purchase with transparent pricing, should consider other options.

Pros and cons

Pros: Scheduling and crew boards address rail-specific rules, qualifications, availability, leave, and bidding in the same workflow.
Pros: Mobile, SMS, and IVR support assignment confirmation, check-ins, attendance, leave, and status updates.
Pros: Travel, payroll assistance, claims, labor relations, and analytics extend beyond dispatching into adjacent crew processes.
Cons: Custom pricing and a demo request make it harder to assess cost before engaging sales.
Cons: The product is designed for railroad operations, so its specialized scope is not a reason to choose it for unrelated workforce scheduling.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist, start with Crew Scheduling Software. Consider Mintra OCS HR if platform choice matters: it supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows, web, API, and self-hosted deployment, with local installation or cloud delivery. COMPAS, CrewLogic, Flightscape Crew Management, HASTUS, N-Ops & Crew, ProVerne Crew Management System, and RadiantFleet are also paid alternatives; the product details given for them do not support a more specific comparison.

Verdict

CloudMoyo Crew Management is a strong candidate for Class I, regional, and short line railroads that want scheduling, compliance, crew communications, travel, payroll assistance, and analytics connected around rail operations. Its main advantage is that rail-focused breadth; its main drawback is the sales-led buying process and custom pricing. Request a demo if those workflows match your needs, and look elsewhere if published pricing or a less specialized platform is essential.
