Overview

Ivanti Neurons for ITAM follows assets through procurement, purchase orders, invoicing, receipt, deployment and disposal. Real-time discovery, automated reconciliation and normalization feed an asset repository designed to keep inventory usable rather than merely collected. The system can report IT spend and track asset age and value, giving finance- and operations-minded teams a basis for replacement and cost decisions.

The repository stores identifiers, lifecycle status, stock, location and warranty information. It also connects with Ivanti’s service-management CMDB, so request management can use current asset records. That combination makes the product a stronger fit for organizations aligning asset governance with service operations than for teams seeking a standalone scanner.

Key features

Discovery and lifecycle control

Automated discovery and reconciliation reduce the manual effort of assembling an inventory, while normalization helps turn incoming data into consistent records. Lifecycle coverage is unusually broad: purchase orders, invoices, receipt, deployment and disposal are handled in one management scope. Barcode scanning adds a practical way to identify physical equipment during stock and field work.

Contracts, licenses and repository data

Software license tracking and contract tracking support renewal oversight and obligation management alongside hardware records. Reports on spend, asset age and value help teams prioritize action instead of relying on raw counts. The repository’s identifiers, locations, warranties and status fields provide the context service desks and asset administrators need.

Mobile and service integration

The mobile app lets users search assets, update fields, check device incidents and apply quick actions away from the office. This is useful for distributed technicians and inventory staff who cannot work from a desk. CMDB integration keeps asset information available to request-management workflows, extending ITAM’s value into service delivery.

Pricing

Ivanti Neurons for ITAM uses paid, custom pricing. The Ivanti Neurons for ITAM plan has no published price; contact Ivanti for a demo. That approach suits organizations prepared for a sales-led assessment, but it gives smaller teams no public way to compare cost before engaging Ivanti.

Platforms

Ivanti offers web, Android and iOS access, with hybrid deployment. ITAM runs on Ivanti’s multi-tenant cloud platform or on-premises. Ivanti states that its cloud platform is ISO 27001 certified. Spend Intelligence contract synchronization is supported in ITAM Cloud, while ITAM On-Premises does not support that transfer, making deployment selection significant for teams depending on synchronized contract data.

Who it's for

The getting-started guidance is aimed at Asset Administrators, and the feature set suits IT teams responsible for inventory accuracy, purchasing records, contracts, licenses and service-management coordination. Organizations with mobile inventory work or distributed support can benefit from the app and barcode scanning. It is less suitable for buyers who require transparent self-service pricing or a narrowly focused, low-cost tracking tool.

Pros and cons

Pros

End-to-end lifecycle coverage: procurement through disposal links commercial and operational records.
Automated inventory preparation: discovery, reconciliation and normalization reduce manual consolidation.
Strong service context: CMDB integration gives request management current asset information.
Field-ready operation: mobile updates, incident checks, quick actions and barcode scanning support work away from the office.
Deployment choice: cloud and on-premises options accommodate different hosting requirements.

Cons

Custom pricing: buyers cannot evaluate subscription cost from a published rate.
Cloud-dependent synchronization: Spend Intelligence contract transfer is unavailable on-premises.
Broader implementation scope: complete ITAM capabilities extend through Ivanti ITSM, so organizations wanting only a simple asset register may find the platform more than they need.

Verdict

Choose Ivanti Neurons for ITAM when you need one system to govern hardware and software lifecycles, contracts, discovery and service-management records, with cloud or on-premises deployment. Its main advantage is the breadth of connected asset and operational data. Look elsewhere if public pricing, a lightweight tracker or on-premises Spend Intelligence contract synchronization is essential.
