Overview

Flipdish combines restaurant-branded ordering with point-of-sale and day-to-day operations tools. It suits independent restaurants, franchises and chains that want more than a standalone ordering page, especially multi-site operators that need shared menus and reporting. Its breadth is a clear strength, but subscriptions are priced per site and kiosk hardware costs extra.

Key features

Ordering and branded channels

Customers can order through a branded website or mobile app, QR-code order and pay, or a self-service kiosk. The restaurant-branded iOS and Android apps add one-click reordering, loyalty, push notifications and order-status updates, making the app plan more relevant to businesses focused on repeat orders. The Website plan does not include a branded app, so that channel requires the higher-priced Website & Mobile App plan.

POS and operations

The POS brings dine-in, collection, take-out and delivery orders together, while also managing menus, inventory, staff rotas and delivery dispatch. Kitchen display, driver tracking, appliance checks, task management, incident reporting and expiry, nutrition and allergy labels extend it into restaurant operations. This range can consolidate work across a restaurant; a business that only needs online ordering may find the wider system unnecessary.

Payments, integrations and reporting

Integrated card payments support PCI compliance, Apple Pay and Google Pay, split tender, tipping and payment reporting. Flipdish says its transaction rates have no hidden fees. Listed connections include POS systems such as Clover, Lightspeed, Square and Toast, delivery tools including Stuart and VROMO, and Zapier; an open API is also offered. Customizable reports, real-time manager metrics, sales forecasting and multi-location reporting give operators more oversight, with centralized menus and reports particularly useful to chains.

AI phone agent and support

The AI Phone Agent can handle multiple calls, take orders with modifiers and notes, upsell, accept secure payment and send orders to the POS or kitchen display. Support includes Help Centre articles, Academy videos, and email, WhatsApp and phone assistance seven days a week. These are useful additions for restaurants handling phone demand, though they sit alongside rather than replace the core ordering and POS decision.

Pricing

Flipdish has a free plan, but the paid plan details below are the published per-site subscription options. Annual billing has lower rates for each listed plan; monthly billing is available at the following higher prices:

Self-Service Kiosk: $99.00 USD per month, billed monthly per site. Includes kiosk software, menu management, loyalty and retention, reporting and analytics, and integrated payments. Kiosk hardware costs extra.
Website: $149.00 USD per month, billed monthly per site. Includes a branded website, online ordering, menu management, loyalty and retention, reporting and analytics, and integrated payments. It does not include a branded mobile app.
Website & Mobile App: $249.00 USD per month, billed monthly per site. Adds a branded mobile app and third-party delivery integration to the Website plan’s listed features.

Annual starting prices are $79/month for Self-Service Kiosk, $119/month for Website, and $199/month for Website & Mobile App, billed per site. Hardware and implementation may also involve upfront costs. No free trial or refund policy is stated.

The Website plan is the more direct fit for a restaurant that wants branded web ordering without its own app. Choose Website & Mobile App when a branded app and third-party delivery integration justify the higher subscription. Kiosk is a separate route for self-service ordering, but its extra hardware cost needs to be included in the decision. Per-site billing can add up for multi-location businesses even when central menus and reporting are valuable.

Platforms

Flipdish supports Android, iOS, web and API. Its branded apps are available for iOS and Android, while the open API supports integrations with the online ordering platform.

Who it's for

Flipdish is a strong fit for restaurants and takeaways that want ordering, payments and operational tools in one platform, and for chains that need to coordinate menus and reporting across locations. It is less compelling for operators seeking only a basic ordering channel or unwilling to take on per-site subscriptions and, for kiosks, separate hardware costs.

Pros and cons

Pro: Multiple customer ordering routes—website, app, QR code and kiosk—give restaurants flexibility in how they take orders.
Pro: POS, kitchen, staffing and task tools reach beyond order capture, which can suit businesses consolidating restaurant workflows.
Pro: Central menus and multi-location reporting address a practical need for chains and franchises.
Con: The Website plan lacks a branded mobile app; getting one requires the more expensive Website & Mobile App plan.
Con: Prices are per site, and kiosk hardware costs extra, so multi-site or kiosk deployments can carry costs beyond the subscription.

Orderlina offers a free plan with QR-accessible digital menus, online ordering and payments. KitchenAsty is a free alternative. Olo Ordering is another paid web-based option.

Verdict

Choose Flipdish if your restaurant needs branded ordering channels backed by POS and operational tools, or if a chain will benefit from centralized menus and cross-site reporting. The main reason to look elsewhere is cost structure: per-site subscriptions, a higher tier for a branded app, and extra kiosk hardware may outweigh that breadth for businesses with simpler needs.
