Overview

Check Point describes MDR as a prevention-first SOC-as-a-Service, supported by ThreatCloud and its analyst, incident response and research teams. A web portal provides access to prevention, monitoring, detection, investigation and remediation. This model can extend the reach of organizations without a staffed, round-the-clock security operation, but teams with mature in-house SOCs should consider whether they need a managed service rather than additional tools alone.

Coverage includes network, endpoint, email, cloud, identity and IoT environments. Check Point says the service connects with more than 160 tools, including third-party EDR, firewall and cloud services, making it relevant to organizations that need to bring varied security systems into a managed operation. That breadth is useful only if the integrations and coverage match the systems a buyer actually uses.

Key features

24/7 monitoring and incident response: Continuous monitoring, threat detection and response offer coverage beyond business hours. Automated containment is intended to limit the spread of incidents, with proactive threat hunting to identify threats before they escalate.
Identity detection: Built-in identity threat detection supports Microsoft AD, Entra ID and Okta. This gives organizations using those identity systems a way to include identity threats in the service’s broader coverage.
Integrations and data: Standard and extended data integrations support different levels of ingestion. The wider integration reach can help mixed-stack environments, while the choice between standard and extended ingestion is a key package distinction to settle before purchase.
Data residency: Options include the EU, US, Australia, Canada, India, UAE and UK. This range may help organizations with regional data requirements identify a suitable location.
Trust and support: Check Point’s Trust Point resources include a customer data processing addendum, subprocessor list, GDPR statement and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework information. AWS Marketplace lists vendor support at services@checkpoint.com as available 24x7x365.

Pricing

All three packages use custom pricing, with private offers available on request. The right choice depends on the required identity protection, data ingestion, detection capabilities and data-management needs; buyers should compare those requirements against the scope of each package when requesting a quote.

MDR: Custom pricing for 24/7 monitoring and response across cloud, endpoint, identity and network. It is the clearest fit for organizations seeking core managed coverage without the expanded identity protection and broader ingestion described for MDR 360°.
MDR 360°: Custom pricing adds expanded identity protection, broader data ingestion and extended detection capabilities. It suits organizations that need those expanded protections and data coverage; buyers who do not need them may find the core MDR package a closer match.
MXDR 360°: Custom pricing includes fully managed SIEM, an enterprise security data lake, long-term retention and advanced analytics. It is aimed at organizations that need those data and analytics capabilities as part of the managed service, rather than only monitoring and response.

MDR 360° delivery is described as professional services and is not deployed on AWS. That matters for buyers evaluating it through AWS Marketplace: the marketplace listing does not mean the service runs on AWS.

Platforms

The service is available on web, with a portal for access to its security operations capabilities. It is also described as covering multiple environments, including cloud, endpoint, identity, network, email and IoT.

Who it's for

The service brief identifies CISOs, cybersecurity operations managers and directors, SOC analysts, incident response analysts and forensics investigators as relevant roles. It is most compelling for organizations that want an external team to provide round-the-clock monitoring and response across a varied security estate, particularly where supported identity systems and integrations align with their environment. Organizations seeking a published, fixed price or only a narrow standalone tool should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: 24/7 monitoring and incident response pair ongoing detection with automated containment and threat hunting; integrations with more than 160 tools can accommodate varied security stacks; identity detection supports Microsoft AD, Entra ID and Okta; multiple data residency regions are offered.
Cons: Every package is custom-priced, so buyers need a quote to compare cost; the package differences require buyers to match ingestion, identity and data-lake needs to the right tier; MDR 360° is a professional service rather than an AWS deployment.

Alternatives

For another managed detection and response service, compare Managed Detection and Response Services. For adjacent security-awareness needs, see Cybersecurity Training Platforms, Security Awareness Training Software and Phishing Simulation Software.

Blumira is worth considering for buyers seeking SIEM visibility across cloud and local networks, with a Detect plan at 12.00 USD per month billed monthly, pre-tuned detections and one-year log retention; it also offers a free trial.
Bitdefender Total Security is a different fit for individuals seeking a paid security product with a free plan and trial; its Total Security Individual plan is 59.99 USD per year for the first year, plus applicable sales tax, for five devices and one account.
Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response is another 24x7 managed detection and response option, with integrated telemetry, an Arctic Wolf Agent and Active Response in its Aurora plan.
Dell APEX AIOps Incident Management is an alternative for buyers considering incident management software; its subscription is priced in a customer quote, with full-term fees payable in advance unless the quote says otherwise.
NTT Cloud Fax is a cloud fax service rather than a managed security service.
Red Canary MDR is another managed detection and response option with custom pricing.
ReliaQuest MDR may suit buyers comparing endpoint-priced platform capabilities; GreyMatter is priced per endpoint, with additional capabilities priced by scope and no token-based pricing.
Acronis Cyber Disaster Recovery Cloud is a different option for disaster recovery, with a free trial and pay-as-you-go pricing for used DR cloud storage and compute.

Verdict

Choose Check Point MDR/MPR if your organization needs 24/7 managed monitoring and response across a varied environment, especially when its identity support, integration breadth and regional data residency options fit your requirements. Its strongest case is the combination of continuous operations and multiple package levels; its main drawback is custom pricing, so buyers seeking transparent costs or a narrowly scoped product should compare alternatives before committing.
