Overview

CallTools is a cloud contact-center platform for teams that handle both inbound service calls and outbound sales campaigns. It is best suited to organizations that need dialing, inbound routing, follow-up messaging and operational controls in one system. Its broad calling and compliance toolkit is compelling, but the required desktop setup rules out agents working from mobile devices or virtual machines.

Key features

Power, predictive and preview dialing give teams options for different outbound workflows. The Power Dialer advances through a contact list and connects an agent when someone answers, while predictive and preview modes broaden the ways teams can manage call pace and preparation. Unlimited minutes and no caps on calls per minute or ports remove some usage constraints; customers are asked to report expected spikes, so unusually high-volume campaigns still call for coordination.

Inbound tools include call distribution, custom IVR, queues, callbacks, failover destinations and recording. Together, these make the platform more suitable for teams handling inbound service as well as outbound campaigns than a dialer focused only on prospecting. Agents can also send SMS and email follow-ups from the platform, keeping post-call outreach alongside calling.

Real-time dashboards track contact rates, talk time, dispositions and lead-source performance, giving managers operational and campaign signals in one place. More than 40 direct integrations include Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive and Microsoft Dynamics, alongside tools such as Slack, Google Sheets and Shopify. The REST API supports importing and exporting data, querying contacts and call logs, webhooks, automations and custom connectors, making it useful for teams with integration needs beyond the prebuilt connections.

Compliance controls include timezone protection, state-specific holiday scheduling, Federal Do Not Call integration, contact-preference scrubbing, recording and audit logging. Call-data encryption, secure authentication controls, strong password policies, closed SIP ports and multi-factor authentication for admin accounts add security measures. These are substantial controls for regulated or high-volume calling workflows, though they do not remove the need for organizations to manage their own compliance obligations.

Pricing

Power Contact Center

CallTools uses custom pricing for its Power Contact Center plan, billed month-to-month or annually. It includes unlimited local and domestic long-distance inbound and outbound minutes, and agent seats can be added. Local presence, voicemail drop, predictive dialing and call queues are included. The absence of a published price makes budgeting harder before a sales conversation, but the unlimited-minute terms may suit teams with variable or sustained calling volume.

There is no cheaper published CallTools tier to weigh against this package. The plan is paid, and its flexible seat count does not establish a fixed team size or total cost; prospective buyers should compare the custom quote against their expected seat needs and billing term.

Platforms

CallTools supports web, macOS and Windows, as well as an API and extension. Agents must use a physical Windows 10 or current macOS computer with the latest Chrome or Firefox and a USB wired headset. Tablets, mobile devices and virtual machines are unsupported, a meaningful constraint for distributed teams that rely on mobile work or virtual desktops.

Who it's for

CallTools can serve organizations from small sales teams to large enterprise contact centers. It is a stronger fit for teams combining inbound queues with outbound dialing, follow-up messaging and real-time reporting, particularly where CRM integrations or custom API workflows matter. It is a poor fit for businesses that need agents to work from phones, tablets or virtual machines, or that need a public price before engaging with sales.

Support includes in-house and phone support, plus developer support for API needs. Online hours are Monday–Friday 5am–5pm PST and Saturday–Sunday 7am–4pm PST, providing stated coverage across weekends as well as weekdays.

Pros and cons

Pros

Handles inbound and outbound work: Queues, IVR, callbacks and failover sit alongside power, predictive and preview dialing.
Few stated calling-volume restrictions: Minutes are unlimited and calls per minute and ports are not capped, which suits variable-volume campaigns.
Integration flexibility: More than 40 direct integrations and a REST API cover both common CRM connections and custom workflows.
Built-in compliance controls: DNC integration, preference scrubbing, timezone protection and audit logging support more controlled calling operations.

Cons

Custom pricing: Buyers cannot compare a published CallTools price against their budget before requesting a quote.
Strict agent hardware requirements: Physical desktop or laptop computers and wired USB headsets are required; tablets, phones and virtual machines will not work.
Usage spikes require coordination: Although calling is not capped by minutes, calls per minute or ports, customers are asked to report expected spikes.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of options, start with Sales Dialer Software, Predictive Dialer Software or Call Center Software.

JustCall Sales Dialer is worth considering if a published entry price matters: its Team plan is 29.00 USD per month billed annually and includes a business phone system with CRM integrations. It also offers a free trial and Android and iOS support.
Channels is a freemium alternative with a free plan and web, iOS and Android platforms.
Mojo Dialer is a paid option with Android, iOS and web support; its Mojo Caller ID plan is 10.00 USD per month billed monthly and includes an optional verified number and complimentary Reputation Guard.
Cupid Sales Dialer is another paid sales-dialer alternative.
DialerBee is worth a look for teams wanting a published small-team package: Starter is 69.00 USD per month, supports up to 20 agents and includes inbound queues, DIDs, preview and power dialing. It offers a free trial and supports Android, iOS, web and API.
MySalesDialer is a paid alternative available on web, iOS and Android.
Predictive Dialer offers a 49.00 USD per month Click-to-Call plan billed at $49/mo, priced per user and built around one-click outbound calling without manual dialing; it also offers a free trial.
Adversus is a paid web and API option with a minimum of three licenses and unlimited calls in the EU and US.

Verdict

CallTools is a strong fit for contact centers and sales teams that need inbound routing and outbound dialing under one roof, with meaningful integration, reporting and compliance capabilities. Its unlimited-minute model and configurable seat count support varied team sizes, but custom pricing and rigid desktop-and-headset requirements are real buying constraints. Choose it when its combined contact-center toolkit outweighs those limits; look elsewhere if mobile or virtual-machine agents, or upfront price certainty, are essential.
