Overview

BStreams combines charts, maps and tables with text and images, so a dashboard can explain its data rather than leave readers to interpret visuals on their own. Filters, interactive visualizations, narrative annotations and presentation flow support guided, reader-facing reports. Drag-and-drop creation and spreadsheet-based projects make it a web option for people who want to build without installing software.

Sharing can be private, public, by link or through an embed. Public and link-shared projects may be accessed, copied and distributed by the public, so those modes are unsuitable for sensitive material. BStreams also does not guarantee 24/7 availability, which matters to organizations that depend on uninterrupted access.

Key features

Mixed-media reporting: Charts, maps, tables, text and images can sit together, with filters to let readers explore. This is more useful for contextual reports than for teams seeking only a standalone chart maker.
Spreadsheet workflows: Users can build dashboards from Excel spreadsheets. Professional includes linked Google Sheets with daily refresh; higher plans include linking and updating Google Sheets. This creates a path from spreadsheet data to a shareable dashboard, though the free plan's 3 MB upload cap may constrain source files.
Sharing and exports: Projects can be shared by link or embedded, and kept private or made public. Professional includes PDF and other available format exports; Service provider and Enterprise include PDF, JPEG and PNG exports.

Pricing

The free Basic plan costs 0.00 EUR per free and allows one collaborator, 50 MB of storage and uploads up to 3 MB, with a watermark. It is a sensible way for an individual to try small projects, but the storage, upload and single-collaborator ceilings make it restrictive for ongoing team work.

Professional costs 23.00 EUR per month, or 253.00 EUR per year. Both provide five collaborators, 3 GB of storage and email support; the annual option is presented as a 10% saving. Professional suits small teams that need more room and Google Sheets refresh, but it remains capped at five collaborators and 3 GB.

Service provider and Enterprise have custom pricing. Service provider includes five nominal users, unlimited storage, unlimited collaborators per bstream, white labelling, and video chat and email support, making it the more relevant fit for providers producing branded work for clients. Enterprise offers unlimited users, storage and collaborators, plus video chat support, for organizations needing broad capacity. Neither custom plan has a published price, so buyers will need a quote to assess cost.

Platforms

BStreams is available on the web. That suits browser-based dashboard creation and sharing, but readers seeking a listed native desktop or mobile platform should consider another tool.

Who it's for

BStreams fits individuals and organizations—including teams, agencies, researchers, nonprofits and sales teams—that need data stories or interactive reports with narrative context. Basic works for small experiments; Professional is the clearest option for a small collaborative workflow. Its public-sharing terms and lack of a 24/7 availability guarantee make it a weaker fit for confidential projects shared by link or operations requiring continuous service.

Pros and cons

Pro: Combining visualizations with text, images, filters and presentation flow supports reports that guide readers through the data.
Pro: Free access and Excel-based dashboard creation let individuals start without a subscription or software installation.
Con: Basic's 50 MB storage, 3 MB upload limit, one collaborator and watermark constrain projects before they grow large.
Con: Link-shared and public projects may be copied and redistributed, and continuous availability is not guaranteed.
Con: The custom-priced tiers do not show a price, making their cost harder to compare before contacting the maker.

Alternatives

Data Storytelling Tools is a useful starting point for comparing this category. Choose Datawrapper instead if its free charts, maps and tables, web publishing and embedding, PNG downloads and broad platform support better match your needs. Understand is another free-plan option, with a Starter tier offering one editor, unlimited stories, CSV upload, manual data entry, public sharing and scrollytelling.

Consider ArcGIS StoryMaps if a free public account with usage limits and some advanced features is the fit you need. Datastory offers a free Starter tier with 10 visualizations, up to three team members and 100 AI credits per month; its Professional plan is 15.00 USD per month per user. Choose Flourish if unlimited projects and stories, its full template range and public publishing with attribution on the free plan suit the job.

Graphtelling is worth comparing for its free allowance of three charts, 50 one-time AI actions and JPEG-only exports, or its Pro plan at 10.00 EUR per month billed €120 yearly. Infogram offers a Basic plan with one user, 35+ interactive chart types, up to 10 projects and online publishing. Juicebox is an alternative for readers considering a paid tool, with a Starter plan at 119.00 USD per month per seat.

Verdict

Choose BStreams if you need a web-based way to combine interactive data visuals and narrative, with sharing and a low-cost route from individual use to a five-person Professional team. Look elsewhere if your projects need larger free uploads, dependable round-the-clock availability, or link sharing that cannot expose content to copying and redistribution.
