Overview

Bluedot is meeting software for capturing conversations, turning them into searchable transcripts and summaries, and finding information across multiple meetings. It is best suited to people who want one place to revisit calls and in-person discussions without adding a recording bot to online meetings. Its strongest case is the combination of broad capture options and cross-meeting AI chat; the lifetime cap on the free plan and the limits on lower paid tiers need careful attention.

Capture contexts include Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack huddles, phone calls, and in-person meetings. Bluedot supports transcription and summaries in more than 100 languages, with speaker identification and action items. Users can share conversations by link, comment on moments, clip highlights, and export to PDF, TXT, plain text, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or Google Drive.

Key features

Bot-free capture is a practical advantage for teams that do not want a recording bot joining calls. Browser, desktop, and mobile apps give users several ways to capture meetings, while the range of supported call services and in-person conversations makes Bluedot more flexible than a tool focused only on one video platform.

Searchable transcripts and summaries make past conversations easier to revisit; AI chat extends that usefulness by answering questions across multiple meetings rather than keeping each recording isolated. Sharing by link, comments, and clips help users pass along relevant moments without sending an entire meeting. The integrations include calendar, storage, CRM, collaboration, and automation services such as Google Calendar, Google Drive, HubSpot, Microsoft Teams, Notion, Salesforce, Slack, Zapier, and Zoom.

Bluedot says customer data is not used to train AI models and is encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256 and TLS. It also states that it has SOC 2 Type II audited controls and GDPR-compliant controls and data processing practices. DPA support, standard contractual clauses, SSO, SAML, SCIM, and configurable data retention make it more suitable for organizations with administrative and data-governance requirements, though those needs sit alongside higher-tier pricing.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows five meetings over the lifetime of the account. It includes the Chrome extension, desktop and mobile apps, and Slack, Notion, Zapier, and Make. After the five meetings, members can continue viewing and sharing recordings or upgrade for unlimited recording and transcription. That makes Free a limited trial of ongoing capture, not a recurring monthly allowance.

Basic is 14.00 USD per month billed annually, or 18.00 USD per month on monthly billing. It provides unlimited audio-only meetings and storage, plus webhook access and MCP integration, but each recording is capped at one hour. It suits users who can work without video and whose meetings fit that duration; it is not the tier for long recordings or video capture.

Pro is 20.00 USD per month billed annually, or 25.00 USD per month on monthly billing. It adds unlimited meetings with video, unlimited recording duration, custom note templates, and Zoom and Google Drive imports. For people who need video or routinely record meetings longer than an hour, it is the meaningful step up from Basic.

Business is 32.00 USD per month billed annually, or 39.00 USD per month on monthly billing. It includes Pro features plus CRM and ATS integrations, advanced admin controls, SSO and SCIM, custom data retention, organization-wide MCP and webhooks, and unlimited audio/video imports. Those controls make it the relevant tier for organizations with integration and access-management needs; individual users may not need the extra cost. A flat-rate company option has custom pricing.

All paid per-user prices are presented per month, with annual billing costing less than monthly billing. Subscribers who cancel lose access to recordings, have one month to restore the subscription, and then recordings are permanently deleted. That retention consequence matters for anyone treating Bluedot as a long-term meeting archive.

Platforms

Bluedot supports Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, web, and a browser extension. Its desktop apps require macOS 12.3 or later on Apple Silicon, or Windows 10 or later, so older Macs and unsupported hardware are not covered by the stated desktop requirements.

Who it's for

Bluedot fits individuals and teams that need searchable records of meetings across several services, value bot-free capture, or want to query information across conversations. Basic can work for audio-only users with meetings under an hour; Pro is the better fit when video or longer recordings matter. Business is aimed at organizations needing CRM and ATS connections, advanced administration, or identity and retention controls. The five-meeting lifetime Free limit makes it a poor choice for sustained no-cost recording.

Pros and cons

Pro: Bot-free capture spans calls, phone conversations, and in-person meetings, so it is not limited to a single video-call context.
Pro: Search, cross-meeting AI chat, sharing, comments, and clips support both finding past information and circulating useful excerpts.
Pro: More than 100 languages and exports to common document formats support varied teams and handoff needs.
Con: Free ends new meeting capture after five lifetime meetings, making it unsuitable as an ongoing free recorder.
Con: Basic is audio-only and caps each recording at one hour, so video users and longer meetings must pay for Pro.
Con: Cancellation eventually means permanent deletion of recordings, which is a significant drawback for users who expect an enduring archive.

Alternatives

For a different approach to meeting and knowledge capture, consider Fabric, whose Plus plan is 8.00 USD per month billed yearly at $96/yr and includes 50GB storage, a 50MB file upload limit, 100 spaces, and light AI usage.

Notta is another freemium option; its Free plan includes one seat and 120 transcription minutes per month, a recurring allowance unlike Bluedot's five lifetime meetings.

Otter.ai is a freemium alternative with a free Basic plan and stated monthly transcription and imported-file limits.

Jiminny may suit readers comparing sales-oriented meeting software; its Insights Seat is 42.00 USD per month with a minimum 12-month contract.

OpenWhispr is an option for readers seeking desktop transcription across macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Read AI offers a free plan with five meetings per month, a recurring cap rather than a lifetime total.

Avoma is worth comparing for readers evaluating a startup or organization plan with paid and free viewer seats.

EchoPilot is another freemium option available on web, desktop, and mobile platforms.

Verdict

Bluedot is a strong fit for teams and individuals who want bot-free meeting capture, searchable records, and AI that can work across multiple conversations. Choose Pro when video or recordings longer than an hour are essential, and Business when organization-level integrations and controls justify the higher price. Look elsewhere if a modest recurring free allowance or guaranteed long-term access to recordings matters more than Bluedot's capture and retrieval tools.
