Overview

Writizzy combines article publishing, newsletters, and memberships rather than focusing on a blog alone. Its editor includes an outline, comments, cover images, and one-click publishing, while scheduling and custom domains support a more organized publication workflow. That breadth will matter most to writers building a regular publication and subscriber base, not to someone seeking only a simple place to post.

Handcrafted themes provide dark mode, custom colors, and typography controls. That gives publishers room to shape a distinct presentation, while the built-in analytics are described as privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant, and cookie-free. Writizzy also says it can import posts, drafts, tags, and subscribers from Substack, WordPress, Ghost, Medium, or Beehiiv, making it a plausible option for an existing publication considering a move.

Key features

Newsletters and paid memberships

Posts can be sent to subscriber lists, with subscriber management, double opt-in, and delivery tracking included. Paid subscriptions use Stripe, and Writizzy says it charges 0% platform commission. That makes the service relevant to writers charging readers directly; the email quotas still need attention, since sending capacity can be lower than the subscriber cap.

Publishing, integrations, and security

Integrations include Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, Discord, Zapier, Make, webhooks, GitHub, and media embeds. That range gives writers routes to connect publishing with social channels and other tools. Writizzy's privacy policy says it uses encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and daily backups; it also says blog data is hosted in the EU wherever possible and that it does not sell user data.

The company describes itself as bootstrapped and independent, with two people and no investors. The privacy policy lists contact@writizzy.com for privacy requests and says support messages are retained for up to three years after last contact. Writers considering it for a business-critical publication may want to weigh the small independent team against their own support and continuity needs.

Pricing

Writizzy is freemium, with a free plan and paid plans from €9/mo. The Free plan costs 0.00 EUR per free and includes one blog, 100MB media storage, 10,000 analytics events/mo, 100 newsletter subscribers, and 400 monthly email sends. It is a useful starting point for a small publication, but its subscriber and send caps make it a poor fit for a growing newsletter.

Starter costs 9.00 EUR per month and raises capacity to 5GB media storage, 50,000 analytics events/mo, 1,000 subscribers, and up to three blogs; it includes 4,000 monthly sends. It is the more suitable tier for a writer whose audience has outgrown Free, though the send quota remains a material ceiling for frequent newsletters.

Premium costs 20.00 EUR per month and provides 10GB media storage, unlimited analytics, up to 75,000 subscribers, and up to 10 blogs. It is the clear step up for publishers with larger lists or multiple publications. Teams costs 50.00 EUR per month and offers up to 75,000 subscribers and up to 10 blogs, plus team members, granular permissions, and multiple authors per post. That makes it the relevant choice for collaborative publishing; the added team controls are the distinction from Premium. Both higher plans have the same stated subscriber and blog ceilings, so the choice turns on analytics capacity and collaboration needs.

Platforms

Writizzy supports web and API access. Those are useful for browser-based publishing and connected workflows, but readers specifically seeking a listed mobile app should consider alternatives with Android or iOS support.

Who it's for

Writizzy is best for independent writers who want a blog, newsletter, and paid memberships in one service, and for small teams that need multiple authors and permissions. It is less suitable for a casual blogger who does not need subscriber or monetization tools, or for a publication whose email volume or list exceeds its plan's limits.

Pros and cons

Pros: Articles, newsletters, memberships, scheduling, custom domains, and theme controls are brought together, reducing the need to assemble a publishing stack from separate products.
Pros: Migration can include posts, drafts, tags, and subscribers from five named platforms, useful when moving an established publication.
Pros: Paid subscriptions use Stripe with a stated 0% platform commission, and analytics are described as cookie-free and GDPR-compliant.
Cons: Free caps the newsletter at 100 subscribers and 400 monthly sends; Starter raises that to 1,000 and 4,000, so growing or high-frequency newsletters may need a higher tier.
Cons: Writizzy supports web and API, not listed mobile apps, which may be a drawback for writers who prioritize native phone access.
Cons: The company describes a two-person independent operation, a consideration for publishers assessing long-term support needs.

Alternatives

Consider WordPress.com if Android or iOS support is important: its free plan includes 1 GB storage, unlimited pages and posts, and basic stats for seven days. Hyvor Blogs is another option for solo bloggers, with a Personal plan at 5.00 EUR per month billed annually at €50/year for one user, one blog, and 1GB media storage, alongside custom domains. For a more social, mobile-supported blogging service, Tumblr has Android, iOS, and web support, with a free plan and a Tumblr Premium plan at 6.99 USD per month that renews automatically until canceled.

Edublogs may suit readers comparing a free blogging service with a 256 MB storage limit and daily publishing limits. Write.as is an alternative for readers considering a minimalist blogging service. Hashnode offers a free plan and a Pro plan at 5.00 USD per month with up to 10 publications per account. Hatena Blog is another freemium blogging option. Pagecord offers a free plan with one blog and 20 uploads. Browse the full Blogging Platforms category to compare more options.

Verdict

Choose Writizzy if you are an independent writer or small publishing team that wants articles, newsletters, and paid subscriptions together, with migration and presentation controls. Its combination of audience tools and stated 0% platform commission is its clearest advantage. Look elsewhere if you need native mobile apps or expect your newsletter to exceed the subscriber and monthly-send capacity of the plan you can afford.
