Overview

Employees can discover, join and create groups, while organizations can arrange groups and subgroups around locations, regions or business units. This gives distributed programs a way to support local groups while maintaining an organization-wide structure. Benevity describes its Enterprise Impact Platform as built for large global enterprises, typically with thousands of employees and complex compliance requirements, so smaller organizations may find the intended scale greater than they need.

Key features

Group operations and participation

Leaders can coordinate events, manage RSVPs and share event details; employees can search events and add them to calendars. Leaders and administrators can also share links and documents with a group or the whole company. Discussion forums, surveys, polls, quizzes and posts with media and documents give members several routes to take part. This range can consolidate routine ERG activity, but organizations that need only event coordination or discussion may not benefit from the broader toolkit.

Budgets, reporting and controls

Budget tools support fund distribution, forecasting, spending requests and real-time visibility. Built-in reports cover group activity, membership changes and popular workforce topics, while the product includes a DEI metrics dashboard and advanced reporting and compliance capabilities. These tools suit programs that need to follow funds and participation across groups; the reporting descriptions do not establish which specific metrics or export options are available.

Application intake and review workflow are custom, rather than standard fixed capabilities. Award management is advanced and the grantee portal is full, making the broader platform relevant to organizations handling grant-related work as well as employee groups. Benevity says it issues SOC 1 Type II and SOC 2 Type II reports and conducts annual independent evaluations of internal controls. Company program administrators can contact the Client Technical Support team through B-Hive.

Connections

Employee Groups integrates with Benevity’s giving and volunteering solutions and connects with its micro-actions solutions. Organizations already using those products may value that relationship; no other integrations are described.

Pricing

Employee Groups is paid, with custom-scoped pricing quoted to each organization. There is no free plan, and no published list price, so a buyer cannot compare a fixed per-seat rate or estimate a standard subscription cost before contacting Benevity. The Enterprise Impact Platform is positioned for large organizations, making this a sales-led option rather than a straightforward self-serve purchase.

The Employee Groups plan is billed on a custom-scoped basis, with price quoted to the organization. No cheaper tier, trial length, seat allowance, quota or renewal term is provided. That leaves organizations to establish the scope and commercial fit directly with Benevity.

Platforms

Employee Groups runs on the web. No mobile app platform is described, which may matter to organizations expecting employees to use a dedicated phone app.

Who it's for

This is a strong candidate for large, global employers that need structured ERG programs, budget oversight and broad member participation, particularly when they also use Benevity giving, volunteering or micro-actions products. Smaller organizations, buyers needing transparent subscription pricing, or teams seeking a narrow standalone tool should compare simpler options before committing to a custom quote.

Pros and cons

Broad ERG operations: Group structures, events, shared resources and multiple participation formats cover more than membership management alone.
Budget and reporting coverage: Forecasting, spending requests, real-time visibility and activity reports support oversight across a program.
Enterprise orientation: The platform is aimed at global organizations with thousands of employees and complex compliance needs, a useful fit at that scale but a likely mismatch for smaller programs.
Custom pricing: A quote tailored to the organization may fit varied program scope, but the absence of a free plan or published price makes early cost comparison difficult.
Web-only platform: The web offering covers browser-based use, but no dedicated mobile platform is described.

Alternatives

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Software is a category to compare when evaluating DEI-focused products beyond ERG management. For grant-focused needs, browse Grant Management Software.

Consider Diverst if Android access is important; it is a paid web and Android product with pricing available by contacting sales. Teleskope Affinities is another paid enterprise ERG management option, with web, Android and iOS platforms and demo-based pricing, but no free plan. Applied or Chezie may suit buyers who want to evaluate a paid product through a free trial; Applied offers web and API platforms, while Chezie is web-based.

CommunityCliQ is a paid web alternative with demo- and contact-based pricing. Fair HQ is a paid web option. For a different mix of capabilities, Indi offers an Enterprise plan with company-wide member engagement, ERG discovery, mentorship and career development modules, while its Core plan is for DEI teams and ERG leaders with event and budget management. Mathison is a paid web option with pricing on request.

Verdict

Choose Benevity Employee Groups if a large organization needs a structured ERG program combining group operations, budgets, events and engagement, especially alongside Benevity’s other workplace impact products. Its broad enterprise toolkit is the main reason to choose it; custom-scoped pricing and a web-only platform are the main reasons to look elsewhere if price certainty or mobile access is essential.
