Overview

BDOW! combines multiple campaign formats with rules for deciding who sees them and tools for testing variations. That gives marketers more control than a basic email opt-in form, while the free plan provides a way to start on one site. The central trade-off is scale: the free tier is capped at 100 conversions, and paid plans are billed yearly.

Showit acquired Sumo in 2024 and rebuilt it as BDOW!, which is part of the Showit family. Setup guides and documentation are available through its help center; BDOW! says most users can go live in under 30 minutes.

Key features

Campaigns and targeting

Campaign formats include pop-ups, Smart Bars, Welcome Mats, Click Triggers, Inline Forms and Scroll Boxes. Triggers can be timed, based on exit intent or scroll depth, activated by a click, or governed by URL and page rules, referrer, device, page views, location, date, cookies or JavaScript. Display targeting also covers visitors and pages. This range is useful when a site needs different opt-ins for different contexts, but offers less benefit to a publisher who only needs one simple signup form.

Testing and conversion tools

BDOW! supports A/B tests, lets users control how frequently each variation appears and provides one-click winner selection. Evergreen countdown timers, social-proof pop-ups, personalized discount codes and in-cart offers extend its use to conversion campaigns. These tools can support ongoing experimentation and ecommerce promotions, though the Shopify app is currently unavailable, with a new experience coming soon.

Integrations

Direct integrations include Showit, WordPress, Shopify, Kit, Flodesk, Mailchimp and Klaviyo, among 20+ other tools. Webhooks can send event notifications to a custom application; they are included on Plus according to BDOW!’s feature guide. WordPress users can install the plugin only on WordPress.org sites, not WordPress.com sites.

Pricing

BDOW! uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a 14-day trial. Paid-plan figures are monthly rates billed yearly.

Free — 0.00 USD per free: one site, 100 conversions and 500 emails/month, plus email opt-in forms, customizable design, social sharing, visitor targeting and analytics. It is suited to individual needs or trying out the product; the conversion cap makes it a poor fit for a business that expects sustained lead growth.
Pro — 19.00 USD per month (billed $228 billed yearly): one site, 6,000 emails/month, advanced targeting, A/B tests, webhooks, email campaigns, ecommerce features and two years of stats. This is the step up for a single-site operator who needs testing and conversion tools, but it does not add more sites.
Plus — 39.00 USD per month (billed $468 billed yearly): three sites, 10,000 emails/month and the same listed advanced targeting, testing, webhook, email campaign, ecommerce and stats features as Pro. It fits teams managing multiple sites or needing the higher email allowance; the main listed gains over Pro are site capacity and email volume.

Pro and Plus require an annual commitment, so their monthly figures should not be read as month-to-month terms. The free plan’s 100-conversion cap is separate from its 500 emails/month allowance.

Platforms

BDOW! supports web and extension platforms. Its WordPress plugin requires a WordPress.org site. Shopify is among its direct integrations, but the Shopify app is currently unavailable, so Shopify-dependent users should confirm the intended workflow before choosing BDOW!.

Who it's for

BDOW! is a sensible fit for website owners who want several lead-capture formats, rules-based displays and A/B testing without assembling separate tools for each job. Pro suits a single-site business seeking those capabilities; Plus is better aligned with operators managing up to three sites and requiring a larger email allowance. It is less compelling for businesses that would hit the free conversion cap quickly, need a currently available Shopify app, or cannot commit to yearly billing for a paid plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: A broad mix of pop-ups, bars, mats, click-triggered and inline formats lets teams match capture campaigns to different visitor moments.
Pro: Targeting and A/B test controls support more tailored campaigns than a single static opt-in.
Pro: Plus adds three-site coverage and 10,000 emails/month while retaining the listed paid features.
Con: The free plan allows just 100 conversions, limiting its usefulness for an active business.
Con: Pro and Plus are shown at monthly rates but billed yearly, which raises the commitment compared with a monthly subscription.
Con: The Shopify app is currently unavailable, and the WordPress plugin excludes WordPress.com sites.

Alternatives

Consider ConvertFlow if funnel campaigns are the priority: its free plan includes five funnel campaigns, but integrations require a paid plan. Choose FireBox if an unlimited-websites, unlimited-campaigns free plan and page or URL targeting better match your needs. Getsitecontrol is worth comparing if you want a free allowance of 10,000 monthly widget views and unlimited contacts; email sending costs $2.00 per 1000 emails.

Icegram Engage is another option, with a free Starter plan for one site that includes popups, action bars, toasts, messengers and basic targeting. Consider OptiMonk if its free plan’s 10,000 pageviews/month, 1,000 AI credits/month and one-domain allowance suit your site; it has no free trial. Popup Maker is an alternative with a free plan offering unlimited popups, themes, impressions and views, plus click-open and time-delay triggers.

Popupsmart may suit a small site that can work within a free allowance of 5K pageviews/month, one website, one live popup and 100 email quota/month. POWR Popup is another option to compare. For broader browsing, see Popup Software and Pop-Up Builder Software.

Verdict

Choose BDOW! if you need multiple lead-capture formats, granular targeting and A/B testing on one or more sites, and can work within annual billing for the paid tiers. Its free plan is useful for individual needs, but the 100-conversion cap is the key reason a growing business may need to pay; Shopify users should look elsewhere until the app is available again.
