Overview

Axiom is financial planning, performance management and reporting software for finance professionals. It is best suited to organizations coordinating complex budgets and plans across finance and operations; its breadth is a strength, but its per-user Europe pricing makes the right plan size important.

Key features

Budgeting and forecasting span financial and operational plans, long-range planning, rolling forecasts, staffing and salary plans, capital budgets and sales plans. That range can bring multiple planning processes into one system, while teams with a narrow budgeting need may find its scope more than they require.

Strategic planning adds KPIs, scorecards, capital investment planning and scenario modeling. For management review, Axiom offers dashboards, visualizations, drill-down and variance analysis, plus automated report books that can be shared in multiple formats. The combination links planning with performance reporting rather than treating forecasts as a standalone task.

Axiom describes integrations with financial, operational and CRM data. Budgeting can draw on sources such as general ledgers, HR, point of sale, fixed assets and transaction detail. Analytics can be embedded in PowerPoint as connected interactive content or refreshable snapshots, a practical fit for teams that present results there.

Security includes role- or user-based controls, audit features and access and sharing controls for performance management data. The cloud service is hosted on Microsoft Azure. A scalable relational data model, guided planning workflows and dashboards designed for very large data sets and user communities point to organizational use, not a lightweight personal finance tool.

Pricing

Axiom is paid, with these Europe pricing examples for Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxemburg, The Netherlands and Switzerland:

Large business (500 users): 17.00 EUR per month, billed 17€ per user per month. This is the lowest per-user example and suits a large user group; its value depends on needing 500 seats.
Medium business (100 users): 72.00 EUR per month, billed 72€ per user per month. This fits a smaller deployment than the large-business example, at a substantially higher per-user rate.
Small business (50 users): 103.00 EUR per month, billed 103 € per user per month. It is the smallest listed user group and has the highest per-user rate of these three examples.
Multinationals deal: 12500.00 EUR per month, billed 12.500,00 EUR per month, for an unlimited user license for data input/output over 1,000 users. This September deal is aimed at multinational organizations in Europe.

All examples are paid plans; there is no free-plan option among them. Choose by the scale of the user community rather than comparing the monthly figures alone, since the first three prices are billed per user per month and the multinational deal has a different license basis.

Platforms

Axiom is cloud-deployed and supports macOS, Windows and the web. Users can work through a web client or Microsoft Excel client. Dashboard viewers can use a browser on Macs, PCs or mobile devices without installing software, which lowers friction for broad reporting access.

Who it's for

Axiom is aimed at finance and operations professionals and business users in organizations with complex budgets and plans. It is a stronger fit when budgeting, strategic planning, forecasting and management reporting need to work together, and less compelling for small teams seeking only a simple budget or standalone dashboard.

Pros and cons

Pros: Broad support for financial and operational planning, rolling forecasts, scenario modeling and management reporting can unify related work.
Pros: Data connections across finance, operations and CRM, alongside PowerPoint embedding, support both analysis and presentation workflows.
Pros: Browser dashboards need no install for viewers, useful when many people need reporting access across devices.
Cons: The three per-user Europe examples rise from 17.00 EUR per month for 500 users to 103.00 EUR per month for 50 users, so smaller seat groups face a higher per-user rate.
Cons: The product's breadth and enterprise-oriented scale are a poor match for buyers who need only a focused reporting or budgeting tool.

Alternatives

Compare corporate performance management software if you want to review the wider category before choosing a platform.

Consider Cube if you want a web and API platform whose Bronze plan includes full platform access, custom roles, unlimited dimensions and users, and unlimited dashboards. FutureView Systems is another paid web option; its Foundation plan offers cloud-based direct integration and an Excel add-in or third-party viewer, with additional user access licenses potentially required.

Vena is a paid web and Windows alternative whose Professional plan includes a customer success manager, standard support, a customer portal and Vena Copilot.

Workday Adaptive Planning may suit buyers who value a 30-day free trial and broad platform coverage, including mobile, web, macOS and Windows. Jedox is a paid web option with Business and Professional plans; Lucanet offers a paid web option whose Basic plan spans consolidation, financial planning, ESG reporting, disclosure management, lease accounting, and banking and cash management. Solver is a paid web alternative with distinct standard and contributor user plans.

Verdict

Axiom is a strong candidate for finance and operations teams that need connected budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and reporting at organizational scale. Its broad planning scope and browser-based dashboard access are the main reasons to choose it; look elsewhere if your needs are narrow or if the applicable per-user pricing does not suit your intended seat count.
