Overview

AutoScribble turns an idea, script, website or document into a narrated animated whiteboard video, with a draft script and visual style for approval before generation. It suits people making explainers for teaching, training or workplace communication. Its approval step and commercial-use rights are useful, but the credit cost and manual upload workflow make it less suited to teams that need system integrations.

Key features

The workflow gives you a chance to review the title, script and visual direction before spending credits on a finished video. Writing and editing the script are free, so you can refine a draft without using generation credits. Drawing animation, scene templates and text-to-speech support the whiteboard format; portrait, landscape and square outputs, logo placement, and one-click MP4 downloads offer practical flexibility for different destinations.

Generation is metered: one finished minute costs 100 credits, and a shorter-than-requested result is charged for the seconds delivered. That ties the cost to output length, but makes it worth checking the likely runtime against your balance before generating. Sharing is possible through private links and email. Videos are private to the account by default and enter the public gallery only if the owner opts in.

AutoScribble does not integrate with LMS, SCORM or record systems. You must download a video and upload it to the destination yourself, which is manageable for occasional publishing but a drawback for organizations with established learning or record-keeping workflows. The maker says personal information is not sold, card numbers do not reach its servers, and account data can be exported, corrected or deleted. Systems and suppliers are based in the UK, EEA and US; transfers outside the UK or EEA use standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards. The privacy policy directs questions to info@autoscribble.com and says data-rights requests will be answered within one month.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 GBP per free and includes 100 welcome credits, enough for one 1-minute video or two 30-second videos, plus script writing, downloads and sharing. It is a useful way to assess the workflow, but the credit allowance is limited to a small first output.

The 100-credit pack costs 12.00 USD per once, billed One-off, and its credits never expire. It fits occasional projects better than a monthly commitment, though it buys just one minute of finished video at the stated rate. For regular production, Starter costs 25.00 USD per month for 300 credits per month; Pro costs 65.00 USD per month for 1,000 credits per month. Business is 129.00 USD per month for 2,500 credits per month and 25 finished minutes, while Studio costs 389.00 USD per month for 10,000 credits per month and 100 finished minutes. Those larger monthly allowances suit teams producing multiple videos, with Business and Studio also stating finished-minute totals. Choose a tier against expected output: unused monthly credits may be less useful than the one-off pack for sporadic work.

Platforms

AutoScribble is available on the web and Android. The maker says the Android app can be used to write, storyboard, brand and share videos from a phone. No other platforms are stated.

Who it's for

AutoScribble is aimed at people explaining ideas through short animated videos, including work in healthcare, education, workplace learning and SaaS. It is a stronger fit for individuals and teams that value script approval, private sharing and commercial-use rights, and can handle final uploads themselves. It is a weaker fit where LMS, SCORM or record-system integration is essential.

Pros and cons

Pros: Script writing and editing are free before generation, so you can refine the message before spending credits.
Pros: Commercial use covers adverts, sales, training and client work, making the output usable beyond personal projects.
Pros: Private-by-default videos, multiple aspect ratios and MP4 downloads support controlled sharing and reuse.
Cons: At 100 credits per finished minute, substantial output requires a larger monthly allowance or repeated purchases.
Cons: No LMS, SCORM or record-system integration means manual download and upload for institutional workflows.

Alternatives

Whiteboard Animation Software is the broader category to browse if you want to compare more tools.

Animaker is worth considering if you want a freemium animation tool with a free trial, Android, iOS, web and API platforms, or are willing to accept watermarked exports on its free plan.

Explideo may suit browser-focused users who prioritize unlimited browser exports; its free plan limits server exports to one per month and adds a watermark.

Renderforest Whiteboard Animation is an option for users who want whiteboard video tools across Android, iOS and web, with free exports carrying a watermark.

Animator may fit web users looking for unlimited videos on a free plan, accepting an Animator watermark and exports up to 720p.

Benime is another freemium option for Android and web.

DistilBook is a web alternative with a one-time signup allowance, but its free offer has a watermark and no MP4 download.

Golpo AI may suit web users whose needs fit its free allowance of one video up to one minute.

Mango Animate Whiteboard Animation Maker is a Windows option, with a free plan that includes 576P video quality.

Verdict

Choose AutoScribble if you want an animated whiteboard explainer workflow that lets you approve the script before generation and grants commercial-use rights. Its best fit is a creator or team making explainers who can publish by downloading and uploading files. Look elsewhere if you need LMS, SCORM or record-system integration, or if credit-based generation does not suit your expected volume.
