Overview

AskYourPDF is a document AI service for people who need to question files, summarize material, or automate PDF workflows. It is strongest for users who want document chat alongside website agents or PDF form filling; its free daily limits make it a cautious starting point, not a high-volume workspace.

Its scope goes beyond reading PDFs: users can build an agent for a website and use supplied information to complete PDF forms. That breadth is useful, but the best plan depends on how many documents and questions you handle, and whether you need the separate API quotas.

Key features

Document chat and summaries: Upload a PDF or text document, then ask questions to find answers and key insights. This suits targeted research better than manually scanning a file, while the Free plan's 50-question daily cap can constrain sustained use.
Website agents: An embedded agent can draw on website pages and uploaded PDF, TXT, PPT, PPTX, EPUB, and RTF files. AskYourPDF says it answers only from the sources supplied, a useful boundary for site-specific support. Integrations span plain HTML, WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, React, Vue, and Next.js.
PDF form completion: Provide a fillable or non-fillable PDF form and supporting information from another PDF, a text file, or pasted content; the service fills the fields automatically. This can reduce repetitive entry when the source data is already available in those formats.
Extensions, plugins, and API: The Chrome extension can work with PDFs opened from Google Drive in Chrome, and plugins are available for Zotero and ChatGPT. The API supports PDF data extraction, document chatbots, search and navigation, and conversations across multiple documents, making it relevant to developers building document workflows.
Security: The company says the service is GDPR compliant and uses encryption and strict data security and privacy standards. That is relevant for organizations assessing document handling, though it does not by itself establish suitability for every sensitive-data policy.

Pricing

The Free plan has 100 pages per document, a 15MB upload cap, one document per day, 50 questions per day, and three conversations per day. It is a workable way to try occasional document queries, but the one-document limit is restrictive for comparing or processing files in batches.

Premium: 11.99 USD per year (billed per month, billed yearly). It raises limits to 2,500 pages per document, 31MB uploads, 50 documents per day, 1,200 questions per day, and 50 conversations per day. Premium also includes multi-document Knowledge Base chat, summarisation, Chrome extension access, and OCR support. It is the natural step up for regular individual use, though the annual billing term matters if you want a short commitment.

Pro: 14.99 USD per year (billed per month, billed yearly). It allows 6,000 pages per document, 877MB uploads, 150 documents per day, 100,000 questions per day, and 10,000 conversations per day. It includes the Premium feature set, plus priority support and longer replies. Its much higher quotas suit heavy workloads; users who do not need those ceilings may find Premium sufficient.

API Free: custom pricing, billed monthly, with 100 messages and 5,000 pages per month. API Pro: 49.99 USD per month (billed per month, billed monthly), with 6,000 messages and 60,000 pages per month. These are the relevant choices for developers who need API capacity rather than just the web product; API Free has a comparatively small monthly allowance.

Enterprise: custom pricing, with unlimited pages per document, 1,431MB maximum uploads, 1,000 documents per day, and unlimited questions and conversations per day. API Enterprise: custom pricing, with flexible messages per day and high-volume document pages per month. These sales-led plans target organizations with larger or variable workloads.

Platforms

AskYourPDF is available on web, iOS, Android, as a browser extension, and through an API. The platform range supports both individual document work and integrations into other products, although the stated extension is specifically for Chrome.

Who it's for

Students and researchers can use document chat to locate answers in reading material; professionals can apply it to document review and form completion. Businesses may find the website agent useful for answering from their own pages and files, while developers can use the API for document search, extraction, or chatbot workflows. The company also names education, legal research, finance, technical documentation, healthcare, and customer support as API use cases.

AskYourPDF directs users to its support team for account, billing, and document-processing help, and offers sales contact for plan questions and demos. The breadth of use cases does not remove the need to assess data handling against a team's own requirements.

Pros and cons

Pros: Combines document chat, website agents, and automatic PDF form completion, so users can cover several document tasks in one service.
Pros: Broad website integrations and API functions make it relevant beyond personal file review.
Pros: Paid tiers raise upload and daily processing ceilings substantially, with OCR included in Premium and Pro.
Cons: Free use is capped at one document and three conversations per day, limiting ongoing or comparative research.
Cons: Premium and Pro are billed yearly despite prices being expressed per year with monthly billing wording; they are less suited to readers seeking a clearly month-to-month commitment.
Cons: The free-trial duration is unclear, and the Enterprise and API Free prices are custom pricing.

Verdict

AskYourPDF is a strong fit for students, professionals, and businesses that want document questions and summaries plus practical workflows such as website agents or PDF form filling. Its broad integrations and API add flexibility, while the free tier offers a bounded way to start. Look elsewhere if you need generous free usage, a clearly monthly individual subscription, or a tool focused on a narrower task such as podcast analysis.
