Overview

Website gallery blocks pull photos from selected existing galleries, so there is no need to upload another copy. Public and link-only galleries can be used; password-protected galleries cannot. That makes the connection useful for portfolio work, but not for showcasing client images that must remain password-protected.

The builder offers six looks and lets you edit text, blocks, fonts, colors, and logos. Slider headers work on any page. These controls can give a portfolio a distinct presentation, but the lack of custom page templates limits structural flexibility. Edits remain private drafts until published; checkpoints, revision previews, and restoring an earlier version as a draft provide a useful safeguard when revising a live site.

Key features

A booking page lets visitors choose a session type and see availability powered by Google Calendar. Contact form inquiries go to the account email, giving prospective clients a direct route to ask about work or choose a session. This supports a photography service business, though the builder has no general online shop for broader product sales.

A linked professional Instagram account connected to a Facebook Page can display recent posts, with an optional caption-hashtag filter. ShootCal says the Instagram access token is encrypted and kept out of page-builder content and visitor-facing pages. Pages are described as mobile-friendly and SEO-optimized, with editable titles and descriptions for each page.

Hosting and secure connections are included for custom domains on Plus and Pro, including a separate custom gallery domain. The builder does not include a blog or custom page templates, so photographers who need regular editorial publishing or more bespoke page structures should look elsewhere. Support messages are usually answered within a day or two, and help guides are available.

Pricing

The Free plan is free and includes 10 GB of storage plus Home and Contact pages. It is a sensible starting point for a small portfolio, but two pages leave little room for service details or multiple gallery-oriented sections.

Plus costs 12.00 USD per month, billed monthly with no annual contract. It raises storage to 150 GB, includes 30 active video minutes, and provides six website pages: five starter pages and one extra page. Plus is the practical step up for photographers who need a more complete site and custom domains.

Pro costs 25.00 USD per month, also billed monthly with no annual contract. It includes 1,000 GB of storage and 180 active video minutes, while retaining the six-page setup. It makes most sense when the larger storage or video allowance matters; the page count does not increase over Plus. There is no free trial, so the free plan is the available way to start without a subscription.

Platforms

ShootCal Websites supports Android, iOS, and web, making it accessible across mobile devices and browsers.

Who it's for

This is a good fit for photographers already using ShootCal galleries who want a concise portfolio with service information, booking availability, and contact forms. The website can also draw on the broader ShootCal offering of client galleries, print sales, proofing tools, and digital downloads. It is a weaker choice for businesses needing a blog, general ecommerce, password-protected gallery embeds, or extensive control over page layouts.

Pros and cons

Pros: Existing gallery photos can be reused without another upload, reducing duplicated work for ShootCal users.
Pros: Booking availability, contact inquiries, and Instagram posts support key client-facing tasks in the same site.
Pros: Plus and Pro include custom website and gallery domains, hosting, and secure connections.
Cons: The free plan is limited to Home and Contact, and the paid plans stop at six pages.
Cons: Password-protected galleries cannot be added, and there is no blog, general shop, or custom page templates.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Photography Website Builders or Portfolio Website Builders. Pixieset Website may suit photographers who want a free site with 15 pages, 100 photos, and five blog posts. FolioHD is another photography portfolio option, with a Basic plan at 6.00 USD per month that includes 200 uploads and 10 galleries. Lightfolio offers unlimited galleries on its Lite plan, with 30 GB of photo storage and 3 GB of video storage. LentloSites, RebookMedia, Zarla, Avago, and EasySite are also alternatives to consider.

Verdict

Choose ShootCal Websites if you already work with ShootCal galleries and want a compact photography site that connects portfolio images with booking and contact options. Its main reason to choose is the direct reuse of existing gallery photos; its main reason to look elsewhere is the rigid six-page ceiling and lack of blogging or general ecommerce.
