Overview

Arkestro brings together purchasing data, supplier engagement, and automated workflows around the sourcing process. Machine learning analyzes purchasing data to recommend prices before suppliers respond, while the platform uses behavioral science, game theory, data science, and automation to shape negotiations. The goal is to improve savings, shorten negotiation cycles, and influence more spend.

That approach makes Arkestro more than a place to collect bids: it aims to inform what procurement teams should ask for and how they should engage suppliers. Its value will depend on the quality and breadth of purchasing data available to it, as well as how well it fits the organization’s existing procurement systems.

Key features

Pricing recommendations and insights

Arkestro analyzes purchasing data to suggest prices for sourcing events. Its Predictive Insights capability monitors supplier, commodity, and market data for risks and opportunities, then recommends next steps. This can give procurement teams a data-informed starting point and ongoing context; it does not remove the need for buyers to assess whether recommendations suit a particular event.

Sourcing and negotiation workflows

The platform supports supplier discovery, sourcing events, reverse auctions, bid comparison, competitive bidding, dynamic feedback, negotiation workflows, and final awards. These capabilities cover much of the path from finding suppliers to selecting a winner. Teams looking for a focused contract-management or accounts-payable product should look elsewhere.

ERP and P2P integration

Arkestro syncs with ERP or P2P systems, using supplier, item, and historical purchase data and sending event awards back to the appropriate system. Its Professional Services team can guide integration, a useful provision for organizations with established systems, though it also signals that implementation is part of the buying decision.

Security

Arkestro says it hosts the platform on AWS and encrypts data at rest with AES and in transit using HTTPS and TLS 1.2. It states that its information security management system is ISO 27001:2022 certified and that it passes SOC 2 Type II audits without exceptions. Annual penetration tests and regular vulnerability scanning add further security measures; full ISMS documentation is available on request.

Pricing

Arkestro is paid software with custom pricing. Prospective customers need to contact the company or request a demo; the maker does not publish a software price. That sales-led approach suits organizations evaluating an enterprise procurement platform, but makes quick budget comparisons difficult. No self-serve plan, free tier, trial, seat allowance, or usage quota is described.

Platforms

Arkestro is available on the web. Its ERP and P2P connections are integrations, not additional listed platform versions.

Who it's for

Arkestro targets enterprise procurement teams, with use cases across automotive, oil and gas, high-tech manufacturing, manufacturing, construction, financial services, and food and beverage. It is most relevant where teams have purchasing data to inform pricing recommendations and enough sourcing activity to benefit from structured bidding and negotiation workflows. Smaller buyers looking for transparent pricing or a lightweight purchasing tool are less likely to find it a natural fit.

Pros and cons

Pros

Recommendations before suppliers bid: purchasing-data analysis gives teams a suggested price to use as a starting point for sourcing events.
Broad sourcing workflow coverage: supplier discovery, auctions, bid comparison, negotiation, and awards sit within one procurement platform.
Existing-system connections: ERP and P2P syncing moves relevant data in and awards back to the appropriate system.
Substantial security controls: stated encryption, security certifications, audits, and testing support enterprise security review.

Cons

Custom pricing requires a sales conversation: buyers cannot quickly compare a published price or choose a self-serve tier.
Enterprise focus narrows its appeal: its target industries and procurement workflows are a closer match for larger procurement teams than small businesses.
Integration is a project consideration: syncing with ERP or P2P systems and the offer of professional-services guidance mean fit and implementation should be assessed before purchase.

SAFAL Strategic Sourcing is a paid web-based alternative.
SynerTrade 5 offers usage-based pricing, unlimited users, and API access; choose it if those pricing and access terms suit your procurement needs.
Esker Accounts Payable Automation is a paid accounts-payable product with web, API, Android, and iOS platforms; choose it for accounts-payable automation rather than sourcing negotiations.

Verdict

Arkestro is a strong candidate for enterprise procurement teams that want data-informed price recommendations alongside supplier bidding, negotiation, and award workflows. Its broad sourcing coverage and ERP or P2P connections are the main reasons to consider it. Look elsewhere if published pricing, self-serve access, or a narrower contract or accounts-payable product matters more than an integrated enterprise sourcing platform.
