Overview

Founded in 2018, forms.app is made and hosted in Tallinn, Estonia, by Forms App OÜ; its headquarters are in the United Kingdom. The service combines form creation with team collaboration, including folders, form management, and granular access for invited members. The free plan’s unlimited responses and team members make it a practical starting point, but its form and storage limits can become restrictive when collecting files or managing several active workflows.

Key features

Users can draw on more than 5,000 customizable templates, and AI features can generate forms, suggest alternative questions and answer options, and provide response insights. These tools support quicker setup and iteration, though the service’s value will depend on whether its templates and generated suggestions suit a particular workflow.

Forms can be shared through unique links, website embeds, and pop-ups, with multiple embed options and flexible sharing. Quiz support and payment collection extend its use beyond basic contact forms; file uploads are also supported, although storage allowances vary by plan. The service has 10 native integrations.

Team features include folders, form management, and member invitations with granular access. Support is available through an online form, live chat, and a help center. The company states compliance with or certification for GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, CCPA, OWASP, and PCI DSS.

Pricing

The Free plan costs $0 forever and requires no credit card. It includes up to five forms, 10 MB of file storage, unlimited responses per month, and unlimited team members. That is generous for response volume and collaboration, but the small form and storage allowances make it a better fit for lightweight use than file-heavy or multi-project work.

Basic costs $19.00 USD per month, billed monthly, at a promotional yearly price; its regular price is $29/month. It raises the allowance to 25 forms and 10 GB of storage while keeping unlimited monthly responses and team members. It is the step up for users who outgrow the free form or storage caps, but does not remove the form limit.

Pro costs $29.00 USD per month, billed monthly, at a promotional yearly price; its regular price is $39/month. It adds unlimited forms and 100 GB of storage, retaining unlimited responses and team members. This is the clearest fit for teams managing many forms or collecting more files.

Premium costs $59.00 USD per month, billed monthly, at a promotional yearly price; its regular price is $79/month. It provides 1 TB of storage, unlimited responses, and unlimited team members. Enterprise has custom pricing for broader audiences or more team members.

Yearly plans advertise savings of up to 60% during a limited-time offer. A full refund is offered if a customer is not satisfied within 90 days. Subscriptions can be paid by Stripe, PayPal, or credit card.

Platforms

forms.app is a responsive web service. The site also lists mobile apps as a product resource, but the platform identified for the service is web.

Who it's for

forms.app is a sensible choice for individuals and teams that want a broad set of form templates, flexible sharing, quizzes, and payment collection in one web service. Its free tier is particularly useful when response volume matters more than the number of forms or file capacity. Teams that need more forms or storage can move to a paid tier; those with substantial storage needs should compare Pro’s 100 GB with Premium’s 1 TB before choosing.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited responses and team members on the free plan remove two common reasons to upgrade.
Pro: More than 5,000 templates, AI-assisted form creation, and multiple sharing methods support varied form workflows.
Pro: Quiz support, payment collection, file uploads, and 10 native integrations broaden its uses beyond simple data collection.
Con: The free plan caps users at five forms and 10 MB of storage, a tight ceiling for multiple projects or file uploads.
Con: Basic still limits users to 25 forms; unlimited forms begin with Pro.
Con: The advertised yearly savings are tied to a limited-time offer, while the paid plan prices shown include monthly billing and promotional yearly pricing.

Alternatives

For a broader set of form-building options, browse Online Form Builders or Form Builder Software; teams specifically looking for API-oriented tools can compare Form API Software.

Choose Endatix instead if a self-hosted headless API is the priority: its API plan is MIT-licensed and always free, while Endatix Cloud costs $360 per month. HeadlessForms offers a free hosted option, but its free tier is limited to one team member, one form, and 25 submissions per month.

OpnForm may suit users seeking a free plan with unlimited forms and submissions, though branding is required and its free tier includes one workspace. Paperform is another freemium option with a free plan for individuals and small teams, but that tier allows 30 submissions per month.

SurveyJS is worth considering for self-hosted use: its Essential plan includes unlimited forms, submissions, and file uploads, though no price is given for that plan. Basin has a free plan with one form, 50 submissions per month, and 30-day data retention, making it a more constrained alternative for low-volume use.

FormBackend offers a free plan with one form and 50 submissions per month. Formcarry is another freemium option; its BABY tier includes one form, 50 submissions per month, and one team member.

Verdict

Choose forms.app if you want a flexible web form builder with templates, multiple sharing options, team collaboration, and no response cap even on the free tier. Its strongest case is generous response and team-member allowances paired with a wide set of form uses. Look elsewhere if five forms and 10 MB are not enough to evaluate or run your work, or compare paid tiers carefully if storage is the deciding factor.
