Overview

PAR Ordering brings digital menu ordering, marketplace management, and catering workflows together for large restaurant chains and guest-facing businesses. It suits operators across formats such as quick-service restaurants, hospitality, cinemas, and theme parks that need ordering beyond a single storefront. Its broad operational scope is the main draw; custom pricing means buyers must contact PAR to assess cost.

Key features

Menus sync across web, mobile, kiosks, catering, and third-party platforms, helping multi-channel operators keep offerings aligned. Marketplace management brings third-party menu, pricing, and order updates into one workflow, while POS integration can connect ordering to the restaurant’s point-of-sale operation. PAR describes an open partner ecosystem, but businesses with specific integration requirements should confirm compatibility with PAR before committing.

Restaurants can apply their branding to the ordering experience and use preordering, upselling, secret menus, cart incentives, reminders, and special offers. These give larger operators options for shaping digital purchases, though a business that only needs a simple order form may not benefit from such breadth.

PAR Catering combines quoting, preparation, payments, and delivery for high-volume orders. Alongside delivery ordering and order-status tracking, the platform includes table management, kitchen display, employee permissions, availability management, labor coverage tracking, and auto-scheduling. This mix reaches beyond guest ordering into operational workflows, making the product more relevant to organizations coordinating several service areas than to small operators seeking only online ordering.

PAR’s Trust Center identifies compliance areas including GDPR, PCI DSS, PCI SSF, SOC 2, and CCPA. Customer care is available by phone at 1-800-382-6200 and by email at customer_care@partech.com.

Pricing

PAR Ordering uses custom pricing. The product page directs prospective customers to schedule a demo and discuss pricing with PAR, so buyers should expect a sales conversation rather than a published self-serve rate. There are no published plan tiers or trial terms to compare. That may suit large organizations evaluating a broad deployment, but it makes early budget comparisons harder for smaller businesses.

Platforms

PAR Ordering is cloud-deployed and supports web, Android, and iOS. The product also supports offline mode, which can matter to businesses that need operational continuity when connectivity is interrupted.

Who it's for

PAR Ordering is aimed at large restaurant chains and serves quick-service, fast-casual, table-service, hospitality, cinema, theme-park, and casino businesses. It is a stronger fit for operators managing several guest channels, marketplace updates, or high-volume catering than for a small venue needing only a standalone online menu.

Pros and cons

Pro: Menu synchronization across web, mobile, kiosks, catering, and third-party platforms helps coordinate a wide ordering footprint.
Pro: Marketplace management and catering workflows address needs that extend beyond direct digital ordering.
Pro: The product includes operational tools such as kitchen display, table management, employee permissions, and auto-scheduling.
Con: Custom pricing and a demo-led buying process make it difficult to compare costs before speaking with PAR.
Con: The Ordering page does not identify specific third-party integrations, leaving operators to verify fit for their existing systems.

Alternatives

For a free option with Android, iOS, and web support, Avero has a Starter plan priced at 0.00 USD per free, with unlimited users and usage and free POS integration for most common POS systems. Its free plan may suit buyers prioritizing those terms over PAR’s broader ordering and catering workflows.

Rosnet Scheduling & Forecasting is a paid Android, iOS, and web option with pricing available by demo request; consider it when scheduling and forecasting are the focus. Dishboard is another paid option for web, iOS, and Android.

5-Out, AnyDiner, Expo, and Insight360 are paid web-based alternatives. Meuze supports Android, iOS, and web, has a free trial but no free plan, and lists a Starter plan at 150.00 USD per month, billed monthly with cancellation at any time.

Verdict

Choose PAR Ordering if you run a large, guest-facing operation and want digital ordering, marketplace updates, and high-volume catering within a broader operational platform. Its channel coverage and workflow breadth are persuasive for complex businesses. Look elsewhere if you need transparent pricing, a fast self-serve purchase, or a product page that names the third-party integrations you depend on.
