Overview

Any.do brings task lists, reminders, and calendar planning together for people who want one place to organize personal commitments and shared work. It suits individuals and small families especially well; teams that need shared boards and permission controls may also find a fit. The free Personal plan is unusually open-ended on task volume, but several useful reminder and AI features sit behind paid plans.

Key features

Planning without a task cap

Personal includes tasks, lists, reminders, a calendar, a daily planner, and device sync, with unlimited tasks, subtasks, and Grocery Lists. That gives everyday planners room to build a substantial system without hitting a stated item quota. Recurring tasks are supported, but are called out as a Premium feature, so users who depend on repeating routines should compare paid pricing before settling in.

Flexible alerts and connections

Reminders can be time-based, location-based, or recurring, making Any.do useful for both scheduled follow-ups and place-dependent errands. Location reminders are a Premium feature. Calendar sync is supported, and the app works with more than 6,000 apps for work automation, including WhatsApp, Gmail, Slack, Zapier, Siri, Jira, Trello, and Google Drive. That breadth may help users connect existing tools, though the number alone does not establish how any one integration works.

Shared work and family spaces

Family provides a shared space for four members and up to four shared projects, with groceries and shared projects included in the plan description. Teams offers collaborative workspaces, unlimited project boards, and unlimited members, a more scalable setup for groups with changing rosters. Workspace and board admins can manage access, permissions, and private boards. Teams also advertises more than 100 workflow templates and 24/7 support from AI agents and the customer support team.

Access across devices

Any.do supports web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Chrome extension access, with apps and extensions also offered for Edge, Firefox, Safari, and Gmail. Offline access is supported on web and mobile, which is valuable when a connection is unreliable. The pricing page says login is secured.

Pricing

Personal costs 0.00 USD per free, is free forever, and requires no credit card. Its unlimited personal tasks and lists, plus unlimited tasks, subtasks, and Grocery Lists, make it a credible long-term option for individual planning. The trade-off is that recurring tasks, WhatsApp reminders, AI-powered features, color tags, and location reminders are listed under Premium rather than the free feature set.

Premium annual costs 4.99 USD per month, billed annually; Premium monthly costs 7.99 USD per month, billed monthly. Both are described as cancellable without commitments, and Premium plans offer trial periods before payment. Premium is the relevant upgrade for people who need repeating tasks, location alerts, WhatsApp reminders, AI features, or color tags. The free tier retains the core planning tools, but not those listed extras.

Family annual costs 8.33 USD per month, billed annually, and Family monthly costs 9.99 USD per month, billed monthly. Both cover four members with no additional member cost and include up to four shared projects. It is a straightforward fit for a household of four, but offers less room for project growth than Teams.

Teams annual costs 4.99 USD per month per member, billed annually; Teams monthly costs 7.99 USD per month per member, billed monthly. Teams includes unlimited team members and project boards, and the full 14-day trial lets a group evaluate collaboration before committing. Its per-member pricing means the total rises with the roster. Teams also has a separate plan description without a published price, so confirm the applicable offer before choosing. Purchases may be refunded subject to the terms of service.

Platforms

Any.do covers web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Chrome extension, with additional apps and extensions for Edge, Firefox, Safari, and Gmail. Offline access on web and mobile makes it more practical for disconnected periods than a service limited to online use.

Who it's for

Choose Any.do if you want generous free task capacity alongside reminders, calendar planning, and device sync, or if a household needs a four-person shared space. It is also worth considering for teams that value unrestricted board and member counts, admin controls, and automation connections. It is less compelling for users whose essential workflow depends on Premium features but who want to avoid a paid plan, or groups that need costs fixed independently of team size.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free Personal plan has unlimited tasks, subtasks, and Grocery Lists, so users can keep adding routine work without a stated quota.
Pro: Time-, location-, and recurring reminders cover more than calendar-time alerts, while calendar sync and broad integration support help connect planning with other tools.
Pro: Family includes four members at no additional member cost, and Teams does not cap members or project boards.
Con: Recurring tasks and location reminders are Premium features, limiting what free users can do with routines and place-based alerts.
Con: Teams charges per member, so its total cost expands as a workspace grows even though member count is unlimited.
Con: Family is capped at four members and four shared projects, making it a poor substitute for a larger or project-heavy team plan.

Alternatives

Routine is worth comparing if you want a free option with three integrations, three custom databases, and 250 AI credits; its free plan is more explicitly bounded than Any.do's unlimited task and list capacity.

Taskade AI Agents may suit users prioritizing AI-agent capabilities, with a free tier that specifies one AI agent, up to three apps, two users, and 6,000 one-time credits. Any.do is the clearer choice when unlimited personal tasks and Grocery Lists matter more.

TickTick offers a free task, reminder, sync, and list tier with caps of nine lists and 99 tasks per list. Any.do's uncapped personal tasks and lists make it preferable for larger collections; TickTick is a reasonable comparison for readers comfortable with explicit free-tier limits.

Todoist has a free Beginner plan with five personal projects, three filter views, and one week of activity history. Compare it when those project and filter limits suit your needs; Any.do instead gives unlimited personal tasks and lists.

Paymo is a project-oriented alternative whose free plan allows one user, one client, two projects, and 1 GB of storage. It may fit a solo user whose work fits those project limits; Any.do offers broader family and team sharing options.

FlowSavvy is a scheduling-focused alternative with a Basic plan limited to one scheduling-hours profile, three repeating auto-scheduled tasks, five task lists, and a two-week auto-scheduling range. Compare it if those scheduling constraints fit your needs; Any.do offers a broader mix of reminders, lists, and shared work.

Microsoft To Do is a free alternative for readers who want a no-cost option.

Structured is another alternative to compare for readers considering a planning app.

Verdict

Any.do is a strong choice for individuals who want a free planner with no stated task cap, and for households that can use its four-person Family space. Its main reason to choose is the combination of broad free task capacity, reminders, and calendar planning; its main reason to look elsewhere is that recurring and location-based reminders require Premium, while Teams costs scale per member. Check the paid plan terms against your needs before upgrading.
