Overview

Explideo can build a video around uploaded audio, a template, or a blank canvas. Its auto-doodle feature transcribes uploaded audio or video, selects hand-drawn assets, and syncs them to the narration. Users can also turn photos into doodles or generate draw-ready images from prompts, giving them several routes to visuals without changing the product’s drawing-led format.

A hand draws elements with natural timing, while pan-and-zoom cameras and entrance, emphasis, and exit animations provide control over how scenes unfold. A built-in library supplies hand-drawn images, icons, and music. Explideo cloud-renders MP4s, and browser exports render on the user's machine. The latter are unlimited on all plans, which can make the server-export quota less important if local rendering fits your workflow. The product does not include voiceover tools.

Key features

Auto-doodle is the clearest reason to consider Explideo: it joins transcription, asset selection, and narration sync in one workflow. That is useful for turning existing audio or video into a drawing-led explanation; users starting without narration can instead work scene by scene, from a template, or on a blank canvas.

Prompt-based image generation and photo-to-doodle conversion broaden the visual options, while the animation controls help shape emphasis and scene transitions. These features support an explainer workflow rather than a general-purpose voice recording or editing setup. Explideo says videos can be published to YouTube, social channels, or an LMS, and that users own their creations and may use them commercially.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, billed Forever. It includes unlimited browser exports, one server export per month with a watermark, videos up to 5 minutes, and 150 MB of storage. It is a reasonable way to make short videos without paying, but the watermarked server render and small storage allowance constrain polished or ongoing work.

Starter costs 19.00 USD per month, billed Month-to-month. It raises the allowance to five server exports per month without a watermark, with 10-minute videos and 1.5 GB of storage. Choose it for occasional clean cloud renders; frequent publishing may outgrow five monthly renders.

Creator costs 29.00 USD per month, billed Month-to-month, and includes 15 clean server exports per month, 20-minute videos, and 6 GB of storage. It is the more practical middle tier for regular production that needs longer videos or more room for projects.

Pro costs 49.00 USD per month, billed Month-to-month. Its 50 clean server exports per month, 30-minute video limit, and 30 GB of storage suit heavier use. Across paid plans, browser exports remain unlimited, so the upgrade is chiefly worthwhile when longer videos, more storage, or clean cloud renders matter. Paid plans can be canceled in two clicks and include a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Platforms

Explideo is browser-based and supports Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox on Mac, Windows, or Chromebook. The platform listing also names macOS, web, and Windows. Browser-based exports run on the user's machine, while cloud rendering is another option.

Who it's for

Marketers, educators, YouTubers, and course creators are the named audiences. It is a particularly good fit when narration should drive hand-drawn visuals, or when a creator wants a template-based or scene-by-scene route to an explainer. Those who need voiceover tools should choose a separate production workflow.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited browser exports on every plan let users avoid server-render quotas when local rendering works for them.
Pro: Auto-doodle combines transcription, asset choice, and narration sync, reducing the steps between existing narration and illustrated scenes.
Pro: Photo conversion, prompt-based image generation, animation controls, and a built-in library offer several ways to build and pace visuals.
Con: The Free plan's sole monthly server export carries a watermark, and its 5-minute cap and 150 MB storage limit leave little room for larger projects.
Con: Even the paid plans cap server exports and video duration, so regular cloud rendering or long-form work may require a higher tier.
Con: Voiceover tools are not included, limiting its role in audio production.
Con: Explideo's privacy policy page identifies itself as a placeholder, so users seeking a finalized policy should wait before relying on it.
