Overview

Animaker brings prompt-driven video creation together with 2D animation, asset generation, and production tools.

The service is aimed at individuals, educators, businesses, and enterprises. Its use cases include learning and development, HR, marketing and sales, and internal communications. Animaker, founded in 2014 and headquartered in San Francisco, also offers a RESTful, JSON-based Ultra Gen API for adding video generation to web and mobile apps.

Key features

Video and animation: Text-to-video generation sits alongside 2D and whiteboard animation tools. A custom character builder gives creators another way to shape animated content.
Assets and localization: AI infographics, AI asset generation, subtitles, and translation cover tasks beyond animation. Animaker describes its voice tools as offering 1,000+ voices in 100+ languages, with automatic lip sync—useful for content with spoken narration or multiple language versions.
Templates and teamwork: More than 1,000 animation templates and a Brand Kit support repeatable production. Real-time collaboration is available, while Enterprise adds dedicated seats, comments, task assignments, a shared resource library, and admin controls.
Exports and publishing: Finished animations can be downloaded as MP4, GIF, or WebM, at resolutions from SD through 4K. Animaker's publish flow can also upload directly to a user's YouTube account.
Security and support: Animaker states that it is ISO 27001:2022 certified, follows GDPR and CCPA processes, and encrypts data in transit and at rest. Tutorials, FAQs, training, and a contact option are provided.

Pricing

Animaker has a free plan, a 7-day trial, and paid plans. The free option is useful for trying basic animation tools and downloading work, but exports carry an Animaker watermark and premium assets are limited.

Free — 0.00 USD per free: Basic animation tools and limited premium assets, with watermarked exports. It is a low-commitment way to explore the workflow, not a clean-export option.
Basic — custom pricing: Includes 1,500 AI video credits and 50 Gen AI asset credits per month, five premium downloads per month, and videos up to five minutes. This is the lower-quota paid tier, but the price is custom.
Starter — 45.00 USD per month, billed Pay monthly: Includes 3,000 AI video credits, 10 premium downloads, 90 seconds of generative video, and 200 Gen AI asset credits per month, with a 15-minute video limit. It suits regular individual production, though the generative-video allowance is modest beside the general credit quota.
Pro — 79.00 USD per month, billed Pay monthly: Raises the monthly allowances to 5,000 AI video credits, 30 premium downloads, 180 seconds of generative video, and 300 Gen AI asset credits; videos can be up to 30 minutes. The higher caps better fit heavier workloads, but come at a substantial monthly price.
Enterprise — custom pricing: Includes unlimited premium downloads, 6,000 seconds of generative video and 5,000 Gen AI asset credits per year, and unlimited video length. It is the tier for organizations needing higher annual allowances and team administration.

The annual-billed starting price is 15.00 USD per month, while Starter and Pro are priced at 45.00 USD and 79.00 USD per month on monthly billing. Compare the billing term as well as quotas when choosing: those rates are not interchangeable. Enterprise has the strongest collaboration controls, while the entry plans cap downloads, generated-video time, assets, or video length.

Platforms

Animaker is web-based and has iOS and Android apps for creating animated videos on mobile devices. Its API is intended for integrating video generation into web and mobile applications.

Who it's for

Animaker is a sensible fit for educators, individuals, and business teams that need animated or live-action videos alongside voice, subtitles, templates, and collaboration. The API may suit developers building video generation into their own web or mobile apps. It is less compelling for someone who only needs a visual or infographic tool, or who needs frequent generative-video output without paying for higher limits.

Pros and cons

Pro: Animation, prompt-based generation, voice, localization, templates, and exports share one workflow, reducing the need to assemble separate production tools.
Pro: Enterprise combines annual generation allowances with dedicated seats, comments, task assignments, shared resources, and admin controls for coordinated work.
Con: Free downloads are watermarked, so the free plan is unsuitable when finished videos must be presented without product branding.
Con: Starter and Pro limit generative video to 90 and 180 seconds per month respectively; frequent generation can make the paid tiers restrictive despite their broader credit allowances.
Con: Monthly Starter and Pro pricing is far above the stated annual-billed starting price, so buyers should compare the exact billing term and plan before committing.

Alternatives

For visual work that is more about infographics and presentations than video, these alternatives may fit better:

Visme is another freemium option; its free Basic plan includes 500MB storage and 50 slides or pages per project.
Drawtify is a freemium web design option whose free plan includes a vector editor, limited templates and elements, SD image exports, and PDF exports.
Easel.ly offers a Student plan at 4.00 USD per month with 320+ premium templates, 1.1 million icons and photos, and PDF, JPEG, and PNG export.
GraphMake has a free plan with 80+ visual widgets, 92+ editable templates, and PNG, PDF, and JSON project export.
Infogram may suit chart-focused work: its Basic plan includes 35+ interactive chart types, up to 10 projects, and online publishing.
Jeda.ai is another freemium option with a free plan and a free trial.
Piktochart offers a free plan with 1–4 team members, two downloads, 1GB storage, and 60 AI credits.

Verdict

Choose Animaker if you need a broad video-production workflow that combines animation, AI generation, voice, localization, and team tools. Its strongest case is that range, particularly for organizations creating recurring training, marketing, or internal videos. Look elsewhere if you need watermark-free exports on a free tier or substantial generative-video minutes at a lower monthly cost.
