Overview

AlignMint is a web-based nonprofit platform for teams that want finance, fundraising, donor records, volunteer work, and events connected. It is best suited to organizations that need fund accounting alongside day-to-day operations, though donation thresholds, team and storage caps, and payment fees matter when choosing a plan.

Its ledger tracks restricted and unrestricted money by purpose, supports approvals, and feeds reports from the same records. Grant management, program tracking, budget-versus-actuals reporting, and an audit trail strengthen its fit for nonprofits that need to account for funds across programs. The connected donor and event tools make it broader than an accounting system alone, but event tax collection is unsupported.

Donor records combine gifts, receipts, recurring donations, pledges, notes, and follow-up. Volunteer features cover signups, schedules, service hours, background checks, and event assignments. Event registration, tickets, check-in, attendance, and revenue reporting round out the operational side. Minty answers plain-English questions using live nonprofit data, links to reports, and can take selected actions after confirmation; it is capped at 50 messages per user per day, with monthly Minties allowances varying by plan.

AlignMint says it isolates organization data, encrypts it in transit and at rest, backs it up with redundant storage, and lets customers export it. It also says it never sells donor data. Support resources include weekly live walkthroughs, webinars, and chat.

Key features

Fund accounting: Restricted and unrestricted fund tracking, approvals, grants, program tracking, budget-versus-actuals, and audit trails support financial oversight. Fund accounting begins with Plus, so the free tier is not a way to evaluate the core accounting workflow.
Donor records: Gifts, receipts, recurring gifts, pledges, notes, and follow-up stay together, which suits teams coordinating fundraising and donor stewardship.
Volunteers and events: Scheduling, service hours, background checks, event assignments, registration, tickets, check-in, attendance, and event revenue reporting connect operational work. The lack of event tax collection may be a drawback for organizations that need it.
Minty assistant: Plain-English questions, report links, and selected confirmed actions can help teams navigate live nonprofit data. The 50-message daily cap per user and monthly plan allowance constrain heavier use.
Payments: Card processing costs 2.7% plus $0.30 per transaction, a cost to account for alongside the subscription.

Pricing

AlignMint has a free tier and paid subscriptions, with no contracts or per-seat fees. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free for eligible organizations receiving up to $100K in annual donations. It allows one user, 10 GB of storage, and zero Minties per month. That is a useful entry point for a small nonprofit, but it excludes fund accounting and leaves no assistant allowance.

Plus costs 142.00 USD per month, billed $1,704 billed annually, and includes a 30-day free trial. It is positioned for organizations up to $250K in annual donations, with 10 users, 25 GB storage, 2,500 Minties per month, and Plaid bank feeds. This is the entry plan for fund accounting and a practical fit for small teams that need connected bookkeeping and bank feeds.

Pro costs 499.00 USD per month, billed $5,988 billed annually. It raises the donation threshold to $2.5M, the user limit to 25, storage to 100 GB, and the monthly Minties allowance to 10,000. Established teams with more complex finance and operations get substantially more capacity, but should weigh the higher recurring cost against those needs.

Enterprise has custom pricing and setup for large, multi-entity, or highly specialized organizations. It offers unlimited users, storage, organizations, and funds, consolidated reporting, and 25,000+ Minties per month. It is the tier for organizations that have outgrown fixed limits; the custom price means costs need to be assessed individually.

No credit card is required to start the free offering or begin the Plus trial. The daily Minty cap of 50 messages per user applies in addition to monthly allowances, so a larger plan does not remove that per-user ceiling.

Platforms

AlignMint is web-based. No particular operating system or mobile platform is stated, so teams requiring a dedicated mobile app should confirm that it meets their needs.

Who it's for

AlignMint is aimed at nonprofit finance, fundraising, program, volunteer, and leadership teams that benefit from shared records across accounting and operations. Free is suited to eligible organizations under $100K in annual donations with one user; Plus fits smaller organizations that need fund accounting; Pro targets established teams up to $2.5M; and Enterprise addresses larger or multi-entity operations.

Pros and cons

Pros

Connected financial and operational workflows: Accounting, donors, volunteers, events, and reporting sit in one nonprofit-focused platform.
Fund oversight tools: Restricted-fund tracking, grants, approvals, and budget-versus-actuals help teams follow how money is used.
Clear scaling tiers: Published user, storage, and Minties limits make Free, Plus, and Pro capacity easier to compare.
Customer control over data: AlignMint says data is exportable, organization-isolated, encrypted, and not sold to donors' detriment.

Cons

Fund accounting is paid: Free does not include the platform's central accounting capability.
Donation and capacity ceilings: Free, Plus, and Pro have donation thresholds and fixed user, storage, and monthly Minties limits.
Payment charges add up: Each card transaction incurs 2.7% plus $0.30.
Event tax collection is missing: Organizations needing that function will need another approach.
Minty has layered limits: Monthly plan allowances are subject to a separate cap of 50 messages per user per day.

Verdict

AlignMint is a strong fit for nonprofits that want fund accounting connected to donor, volunteer, event, and reporting workflows. Its central advantage is that breadth; the main reasons to look elsewhere are the paid entry point for fund accounting, plan capacity ceilings, card fees, and unsupported event tax collection. Choose it when the connected nonprofit workflow justifies those limits and costs.
