Umber

What Umber is
Umber is a free, open-source desktop app for generating AI images and videos on Linux, macOS and Windows. The app itself has no subscription charge, but users add provider API keys and pay the selected AI lab directly for generations. Text-to-image creation supports reference images, and generated images are kept in a gallery with their prompts and models. Video models listed in the composer include Veo, Sora, Kling and Seedance. You can add selfies for LinkedIn, Instagram or Tinder templates. Supported labs listed by the site include Google, OpenAI, Black Forest Labs, ByteDance, Kling, Alibaba, Runway, Ideogram, Recraft, xAI, Reve and MiniMax. Keys are encrypted with the operating-system keychain and sent only to their matching lab. Images and videos stay on your computer, not an Umber server. The source is MIT-licensed. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the app is unsigned; the macOS download supports Apple Silicon only.
