What Íris Emulator is

Íris Emulator is a free, open-source Windows program for playing Atari 2600, Atari Lynx, and Atari Jaguar games. It supports 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 and requires an OpenGL 3.3 Core Profile; older Intel GMA 950 graphics and earlier integrated hardware will not run it. The 2600 core emulates the 6507 CPU and TIA, with NTSC, PAL, and SECAM support. Lynx emulation covers the 65C02, Mikey, and Suzy, with HLE boot for homebrew and optional user-supplied boot ROM support for commercial games. Jaguar support includes .j64 and .jag cartridges, display filters, upscaling to 1080p, and selectable aspect ratios. The interface offers cover art, setup assistance, fullscreen mode, remappable keyboard and gamepad controls, and 10 save-state slots. VST3 audio chains, optional Discord Rich Presence, and a TheGamesDB cover downloader are also included. ROMs and BIOS files are not supplied.

Who it suits

Íris suits Windows users who want Atari 2600, Lynx, or Jaguar emulation with remappable controls and save states. It is also relevant to users who want Jaguar display options or VST3 audio processing.
