Purpose: Recuro Media is a cloud-based service for film and video restoration, colorization, color grading, and audio restoration, used through a web browser.
Workflow: The service supports multiple simultaneous projects and batch workflow automation.
Restoration filters: Its filters address dust, scratches, mold, inconsistent noise, grain, color balance, contrast, flicker, stabilization, frame defects, and audio noise and clarity.
Colorization: The colorization service uses a professional closed-source DeOldify-based engine with pre-processing and post-processing, and also colorizes faded color film.
Adaptive filtering: The service analyzes scene boundaries and can adapt filtering for differences in sharpness, saturation, and luminance between scenes.
Supported source material: The company focuses on professionally scanned 16mm-and-up film at HD/2K or higher, and says 8mm and digitally sourced SD material may also be used with varying results.
API: The service provides a REST API for integrating hardware, software, or other services; requests use HTTPS POST and JSON.
API limits: The API is rate limited to a maximum of 200 requests per minute.
API formats: The API documentation lists supported uploads including MKV, MOV, MP3, MP4, MPG, MXF, and WAV, and output formats including ProRes, H.264, and HEVC options.
Security and media use: The terms state that uploaded media is not used to train or develop machine-learning or AI models.
Privacy and security: The privacy policy says sensitive information is encrypted using SSL and that transaction data is handled by a gateway provider rather than stored or processed on the site's servers.
Support and pricing: The pricing page directs customers to contact the company for project pricing and more information.
Intended customers: The company seeks reselling partners connected to film and TV, ideally working with television, archive, or streaming companies.
