What Prism is
Prism is a cloud-based, LaTeX-native workspace for scientific writing and collaboration. Its project-aware assistant can work with a manuscript’s structure, equations, references, and surrounding context. Writing tools include proofreading, citation management, equation conversion, and automated error checking. Researchers can search for literature and incorporate relevant work, with arXiv given as an example source. Prism supports real-time edits, comments, and revisions with unlimited collaborators. Optional voice editing is available for simple changes. Projects can be imported by uploading a folder or ZIP archive, or by dragging files into the All Projects view. Zotero syncing supports citation search, but Zotero group libraries are not supported. Prism runs in a web browser and has a free plan priced at $0, with unlimited projects, collaborators, compile time, and compile speed. Access is available to users with Free, Go, Plus, or Pro ChatGPT accounts, except people who are or have been members of a Business or Enterprise workspace. Prism does not currently use the Zero Data Retention API option and keeps logs for a period after requests to improve the product. Users control whether their data is used to help improve OpenAI’s models, consistent with the Privacy Policy.
