Polimi Open Knowledge (POK) is Politecnico di Milano’s web portal for free massive open online courses. Anyone can sign up and take courses developed by Politecnico di Milano and other universities or institutions. The mixed-format catalog serves students, researchers, professionals, teachers, and citizens. Edvance courses emphasize advanced digital skills, including data literacy, artificial intelligence, and digital sustainability. Depending on the individual course page, completion may provide an Open Badge or certificate of accomplishment. These certificates are not official credentials and do not award university credits, grades, or diplomas. Users can sign in with a Polimi account, eduGAIN, or SPID/CIE. POK is built on Moodle by METID - Learning Innovation and managed by Politecnico di Milano; its service description says it launched in June 2014. Terms describe normal access around the clock except during maintenance or force majeure interruptions. There are no mobile apps or business plans, and support is available by email.
